Being out of bowling for 15 years, I needed a new ball. I only casual bowl now, so a high dollar ball wasn't needed. I shopped around and started watching YouTube to see what they had for today's bowling. To my surprise, THING'S HAVE CHANGED A BIT ! I knew I didn't want plastic, so I kept watching YouTube, but the Brunswick Twist kept sticking out. I wanted a ball that curved, not hooked. Plastic will curve, but not so much coming through light oil, but the Twist will. The Twist was a no brainer for me, so I bought one, I even changed my grip, from finger tip to conventional, cause my old hands can't handle a finger tip like they once could. I changed weight too, wanted a 13#, but all they had in this ball was a 14-3. After drilling, I got my 13 plus, so I'm happy. If I remember right, it used to be you didn't have to pay a drilling charge, it came with the ball, but times have changed I guess.. Can't wait to try it out ! UPDATE The first 3 games, I sucked ! Pulled up youtube and found out what my problem was. I seemed to have forgotten a lot of things. I found out that I needed to get under the ball a tad and also move over a couple of boards, if not, I was gutter bound. This ball has a good backend, but without the right rotation, the ball is just spinning. When coming out of the oil and the ball meets friction, it has a "slow" curve, too far out and it doesn't have enough energy to get back. Week later, I went back and bowled 4 games and brought with me what I learned from youtube and my game improved by 50%. Still had to move a couple boards and try not to throw it out too far, but the extra lift helped the rotation more, causing a better shot. More work is needed.. ... show more
