    • Outgrew the set within 30 minutes of opening
As a newbie, I thought this was a good, conservative start while I got the hang of my new embroidery machine. However, right after my first test embroidery I already wished I had sprung for a bigger set of thread colors. You actually only get 4 colors because the other 2 are black and white. Made me feel like when I was in kindergarten with my chunky 8-color crayola box, while other kids had these fantastic 96-color boxed sets (with gold and silver! And built-in sharpener!). If I could go back I'd try harder to convince myself to bite the bullet and buy bigger sets of the parts separately for a little more. I got this package with my new machine and the first project I made came out perfect. Everything was there and the colors are bright and colorful. I needed something since I had no idea what kind of stabilizer to use or thread and I didn't want to use the wrong thing. This kit gave me all the tools and the confidence I needed to help me make a better project. I ordered this when I ordered the Brother 770 embroidery machine. As someone new to an embroidery machine, I am really happy that I ordered this. It gave me an opportunity to try different threads, stabilizers, but most important, the prewound bobbin thread. I think it made a believer of me for prewound. I purchased this Brother starter kit several years ago. I loved all the main colors, pre wound bobbins, fancy clipper scissors and some stabilizer. The perfect gift for myself to start showing consistent need to use my Brother embroidery and sewing machine. along with my other sewing machines that can finish off a project for me. The embroidery threads are very vivid and really stand out against the sewing from a mechanical sewing machine. Good quick start into machine embroidery. When I purchased my embroidery machine on Amazon the machine and one hoop is what you get. As I didn't know what I would need to start I felt this was a good entrance to supplies especially when you don't know what you need. I did feel as though it was a little pricey when I purchased, but it got me started. I quickly found out that I needed more.
