    • Misaligned and defective upon arrival
You get what you pay for. I didn't want to spend thousands on a new machine after my previous version of this broke down after 5 years of heavy use. Other than the internal chassie which is metal, the entire machine is made of the least expensive, cheap plastic Brother can find so, this won't last. These machines don't stand the test of time like sewing machines used to. So anyway, I ordered this refurbished one under the assumption it would be tested to make sure everything was working and was in alignment. The part that holds the needle is too close to the metal plate that it's supposed to go into so it bumps it and makes a metal on metal sound everytime it moves up and down. I would have returned it but my husband who is a bit of a mechanic, was able to move it enough to where it wouldn't be a huge problem. There is a white sticker over the "anti tamper" screw that he said he would prob need to get to in order to really move the thing back.... But he didn't want to void the warranty in case I did choose to return. I don't know. It does work for now but I'm sure it'll wear out like my last one did bc thin plastic pieces just can't last. They get wear and tear from movement and friction of thread and eventually it stops being able to pick up the bobbin thread or something else will happen and it will become yet another disposable sewing machine. Next time I'll get a better more durable brand but I need to do my research first and thought id use this in the meantime. ... show more

    • Read the directions before you start that way you won't be pulling your hair out LOL
Once I got the machine going has a little glitch but once I got it going it is awesome. The glitch was the arm when you put it down to so has to go down to sew for it to work I'm sure it's a mechanical thing. But it's sews smooth. I love it can't wait to see the other stitches. I give it 3 thumbs up

The power of YouTube gave me a refresher on this particular machine. @nikkisewn. She has had two. Iโ€™ve been wanting one and when I saw this one and it was a good price I jumped on it. Brother has always made quality products and this came packaged well, had a nice bit of goodies to get you started and it threads easily. Drop in lower bobbin, nice easy top threading. Runs like a dream. Hope it gives our home a good life and service. Update, wonโ€™t stay in tune. ... show more

So far works perfectly for a refurb. There's a lot of options for stitch styles. Can be a little intimidating but otherwise excellent.

The machine is easy to use. It was easy to read the manual but I did the unboxing with the help of a YouTube video. I have not had any problems with it so far.

I had complications when I first used it. The machine wuold not run sometime. Plus other problems, but I YouTube how to use the Brother sewing machine CE1125 and after watching two videos, I've learned how to use.
