This Brooklyn Kayak Company tandem kayak is constructed with low-quality materials. I would compare its quality to that of a kayak purchased at Walmart. The plastic used in its construction feels flimsy and is not as robust as one would anticipate at this price range. It resembles a low-cost product from Lifetime or other mass-produced items from China. During my second outing, the plastic component for adjusting the seat strap broke, leaving me to tie a knot instead. On my third trip, the plastic pedal lock also broke, forcing me to paddle manually. The pedal lock is made of cheap plastic and cannot withstand the demands of pedaling. It consists of a plastic knob attached to a metal bolt by a small piece of plastic, which is inadequate. Since acquiring this kayak and encountering these issues, I have researched numerous online reviews regarding this brand. It quickly becomes apparent that Brooklyn Kayak Company has a poor reputation. Unlike many reputable brands available at retailers like Dick's or Academy Sports, which are manufactured in the USA, these kayaks are produced by Chinese manufacturers and imported. Many reviewers have noted that these kayaks seem to be dropshipped from China, merely branded with this company's logo. Additionally, several reviewers have highlighted that nearly identical kayaks and accessories can be found on Alibaba for a fraction of the price. ... show more

This kayak looks amazing we just got it but we didn't get any instructions and have no idea how to build the pedal system and install the router or the seats however it still looks pretty cool and hopefully we can figure it out I guess

Search the internet, the pedal latches all broke first time out. Then next time, the foot pedal.Good quality ni e kayak with terrible cheap latches. Never use this kayak without backup paddles !

82 pounds, the kayak looks beautiful but not quality to us water comes inside to much, even got inside safe area ( phone and wallet area) room is good for me I’m only 105 pounds, to my husband okay he 6.2 tall and 198 pounds. Value fair… but I don’t recommend to buying from company pooly not respond in respond when calls NO Answer and they Not help when had issues delivery later or issues with…They also made ver difficult to return with items damage… Now We Just Knowning we Have to paying for shipping fees return and Amazam pay back … Amazam customer service had been wonderful but understood they do e what they can…Prolems return fees shipping More then purchased the kayak… between 1549 to 3500 to send back to company..we still seeking for shipping fees can afford to return back if we can Don’t felt safe to using this kayak. ... show more
