For the last couple years my ps3 controllers have been going out 1 by 1. Im down to 1 original sony and a couple of knockoffs that dont feel right and I would only use in a pinch. I am now using my ps5 controller like a charm for ps3. I havent tested a six axis game but have been fine with what i am currently playing. The only downside is the PS button wont turn the system on so I have to do that manually, but the PS does it intended features when playing. I can hold the button down to quit a game for example. Everything else seems great!

My only complaint is that the manual is in slightly broken english and the software, if you wish to use it, is for windows only, and is not intuitive. However, the product still gets five stars. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Using a USB A to USB C cable, i can plug my dualsense (ps5 controller) in to both my nintendo switch (via dock) and my playstation 3, and both systems work flawlessly and instantly. (Note for the switch you must turn ON the setting in switch system settings "pro controller wired connection").

I also have a Backwards Compatible PS3 (CECHE01) and I can confirm that this works for PS2 games. I am using this console with 1st Party PS4 controllers and even used one with a Third Party PS3 controller (the one that glows, you need to do some unplugging and replugging of the controller receiver for it to work). It all works like a charm and does not cause the system to crash if you registered the PS4 controller to the console as Sony intended. As far as I can see, you don't get the unique coloration if your controller is Player 1 or 2, but this is an excellent alternative if you don't have a genuine Dualshock 3 controller. Easy to connect via Bluetooth and you can connect multiple controllers on the same dongle. I would recommend this product to others.

Have only tested 1 controller, but I think it can pair 2 at a time, don't quote me on that. All features do work as advertised, and detects it as an official DS3, which means you can play PS2 games. The only downside is you can't start the console with the home button when it's off, other than that great product

i am editing this review because i got a different controller to test it with and it worked flawlessly, the only thing i can say is, if you have an 8bitdo controller then you might wanna hold off, as it did not work with my 8bitdo controller

Trying to go back to playing old consoles is hard now. Controllers for a ps3 system nowadays cost an arm and a leg. Not to mention it has a chance to stick drift. 3rd party controllers have a history of not working.since buying this I can now use any controller on my ps3. Been playing with my xbox controller and it runs smoothly. No issues at all, but it feels weird to use a controller for xbox on a playstation 3.

Works fine with PlayStation controllers. Wanted for Xbox controller would disconnect at random. Plus side works with ps classic.
