    • Gets the job done for a fair price
It seems like there are tons of these wdt's on the market. I am in search of the perfect one at a variety of price points. I like to have at least two diameter needles for my application and I don't like switching out on my other ones that came with two sets. This one only comes with one set that comes pre installed. They are .4 mm so you do not have to baby them like a thinner say .3 type. I like using these to do the initial wdt for ground break up on my darker more oily and dense espressos that can be more compacted and tend to flex thinner needles. And by no means does this mean it isn't usual for all roast levels and coffee types but I have gotten really into coffee gear and love trying new things. This model was gotten for the holding stand. Decent build quality but it is on the light side and looks like a 3d printed version you could make at home but without the mold lines or groves that some cheaper 3d printers can produce. My biggest issue with this product is that the amount itself is not magnetic, which is the main reason for my purchase of this item versus others listed on Amazon. It comes with a magnetic strip that is attached with an adhesive, but that is not very strong and tends to fall off overnight. Luckily, I have some adhesive promoter to help with this issue. It would’ve been nice if the mount itself magnetic. The needles are quite sharp, maybe sharper than what they need to be. Plastic feels cheap. Do not try to push into the holster as a clip, but to drop it in from the top. ... show more

    • Poor quality magents and tape
I want this because I thought I could attach it to the side of my Machine, however, it won't stay. First, the magnets are too weak, secondly, the tape that tapes the magnets to the holder won't hold either. The WDT tool works but the frame is cheap.

The media could not be loaded. The fine wire bristles do a great job unclumping espresso coffee grounds, which makes tamping much easier.

It's a distribution tool with stainless steel acupuncture needles. It comes with a plastic stand with a magnet strip to be applied on the back of its frame to stick onto metal surfaces for storage. The needle housing is glued shut and you'll probably break the plastic before you manage to open it with elbow grease. The magnet strip is easily applied but the magnet has very little attraction force. It works for the time being but I'm not sure how it will fare against gravity over time.     • Feels VERY cheap, stand is too light, but it does the job.
TL;DR: I recommend a WDT tool, just not this one. This has made a drastic improvement to the quality of my shots, but I wish it was higher quality, especially if I paid $20 for it. It effectively breaks apart the clumps in my espresso after grinding, but it's a pain to put it on and take it off of the stand because it keeps tipping over. The whole thing feels so cheap that I want to get a nicer one. I cannot stress this enough: my shots are pulling more evenly and consistently now that I have this, I just can't justify $20 for something made almost exclusively out of cheap plastic. There are other options for a similar price tag that would serve you better; ones with replaceable needles, metal casings, more effective stands, etc. The optional magnet that you can attach doesn't help much, it just slides around when you try to grab it or put it away. ... show more
