  • A Must-Have Accessory for Coffee Lovers
I recommend this product to all coffee enthusiasts out there! The Breville Knock Box Mini is a game-changer when it comes to coffee and espresso machine accessories. What I liked most about this product is the stainless steel canister, which not only adds a touch of elegance to my coffee station but also ensures durability and easy cleaning. No more worrying about coffee stains! And let's not forget the no-mess coffee puck removal feature. It's genius! No more sticky fingers or coffee grounds all over the countertop. The Breville Knock Box Mini truly makes my coffee brewing experience hassle-free. However, if I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to offer an option for a larger knock box. While the mini size is perfect for everyday use, a bigger option would be great for those who brew multiple cups at once. Overall, I am highly satisfied with this product. It has made my coffee routine more enjoyable and convenient. Perfect to contain the coffee pucks and eliminate mess, jus... ... show more

  • Small, sturdy, easy to clean
As a devoted coffee enthusiast, the Breville mini knock box has truly elevated my espresso experience. Its compact yet sturdy design seamlessly complements my Breville espresso machine setup, creating a mini coffee bar ambiance at home. Beyond the aesthetics, its practicality shines through. The knock box effectively keeps my countertop clean by providing a designated space to dispose of used coffee grounds. This not only streamlines the cleanup process but also prevents spills when trying to discard grounds directly into the trash can. Moreover, cleaning the mini knock box is a breeze, adding to its overall convenience. If you're serious about your coffee setup, this accessory is a must-have. It enhances both the functionality and cleanliness of your coffee station, making every brew a delightful experience. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • won't shatter, won't dent your porta filter, seems durable so far after 3 years
tl;dr - it's good, buy one. update, 2023: I am finally ordering a new one, only because the plastic liner is cracking on the bottom. The bar is indestructible, it's brilliant. The housing still looks fine. Look, I'm a retired engineer; I TRIED to make a better one, without having to meet market constraints for cost... and I couldn't. Note: our average usage is currently about ten shots a day, or well over 3,600 shots a year. update, 2022: after beating on it daily for two years, we are finally started seeing some cracks around the rim of the box. This is better durability than most we have owned! The bar itself is still nearly as good as new, so I assume it's made from some unpossible magic material stolen from the future. ;) Overall, this knock box is holding up better than anything else we've tried, including my own! Buy one. Hella good value. 2019 review: We use our semi-auto every day, making 2 - 5 or so coffee/espresso drinks a day with it. So 2 - 5 pucks a day hammered out of the portafilter a day, or 730 - 1,825 pucks a year. We've destroyed four knock boxes to date, including one I built myself (I'm an engineer, with a decent machine shop) after I said, "geez! how hard can it be?!?" It turns out it can be pretty hard, especially if you're hitting a price point for mass production. Now, I thought my last "ABS" (allegedly, I remain skeptical) knock box was pretty awesome, and I gave it a great review, until the second time I missed the bar and hit the house with the porta-filter, and it shattered. Turns out China has figured out how to make ABS that shatters. Huh. Anyway, this thing addresses all of my beefs from past knock-boxes; - the bar is firm enough to take the puck out with one hit, but just barely soft enough that it won't put dents in the rim of the portafilter basker. - the bucket won't break or crack - probably - if - WHEN - you miss the bar. At least the steel housing won't. I'm not sure what the rubber, plastic, or TPE liner is made from. We shall see. - it's narrow, and it's square, both of which features make it fit in my narrow amount of counter space - YMMV - it looks like the bar is replaceable - it is certainly "removable for cleaning", but there is no sign of spare bars being available from Breville On the other hand, it appears to be a discontinued item, at least it is listed as "Sold Out" on Breville's own website. ... show more

  • After having this for 4 years, while knocking out my morning puck...
I thought I should let you know what a great knock box this is. It is well-designed, well-made, sturdy, unobtrusive and easy to clean. It still looks and functions like it did when it was new, which is very good. Edit... After reading some of the negative reviews concerning size and messiness, I wondered why I hadn't noticed either of those things with my box. I make triple shots, around 25 grams of ground espresso beans. The resulting pucks are on the large side, I expect. I think it's important to knock the puck out right after pulling the shot, as the longer it stays in the portafilter, the harder it is to knock out. The configuration of the bar places it under the near edge of the portafilter...usually three light taps loosens the puck so it pivots off the bar and lands gently in the box. It stays totally in one piece, nothing flies anywhere, it's just a big puck dropping into the box. There's room for maybe 6 of these pucks in the box, so for me, daily emptying is all that's called for. I can go 2 days if I don't make drinks for anyone else. In our environment, pucks will start to mold after a day or so, anyway, so I wouldn't want to be collecting pucks in any knock box for more than one day, anyway. So, no, this box does not make a mess, yes, it is engineered well, and works as designed, and no, it is not too small. ... show more
