  • It was perfection nothing less
<b>"Beauty is not in the face, Beauty is a light in the heart" Khalil Ghibran</b> How can one rate perfection? I had to take a breather after finishing this outstanding book to get my heart back on track and to give my mind time to process Whatever I write now will not give justice to this book You'd say "Are you crazy? It's just an MC romance book!" No, it's not <b>JUST AN MC BOOK</b>, It's a <b>life lesson</b> in hardship, trauma, perseverance, family, love, trust, and conquering demons. I cannot even begin to describe how emotionally touched I was reading this book How in love I am with the characters How in awe I was with the writing and how the issues were addressed August, so far, was my least read month. I was drowning in a sea of DNFed books. I'd pick a book, start it, then I'd feel disconnected. Something was missing. They'd feel bland. Maybe It's a "Me" problem. But I am now looking for a book that would hold my attention from page 1. That would captivate my senses and capture my soul with its plot, characters and storytelling. and THANK GOD! This was it OK, OK, I am rambling again, but I just wanted to know how much this book affected me and how much it will stand out and how it set a benchmark for other books to come This is the second book of Snow/Breaker duet in the Speed Demons series. Although you could read the other books as standalone, you have to read Snow before you read Breaker Whereas Snow shattered my heart, Breaker made me have faith in my humanity again We first meet our two main characters, Kit "Breaker" Stone and Kennedy Kitten Charmichle in Atlas's book. Immediately you get a sense that something is wrong with Breaker. Their story is told in Snow (He was nicknamed Jon Snow for his resemblance to the character from Game of Thrones and because of his name Kit which happens to be the name of the actor playing Jon Snow). It is one of young Love and Loss. Breaker leaves Kitty. She presumes he was dead. 9 years later they are reunited with two little surprises, twins. Breaker is determined to regain his family but knows he cannot do that with monsters lurking in his soul. So he does what many, especially Men, refuse to do. He goes to therapy. Then several incidents happen before he and Kennedy get their HEA What I loved about this book (and its predecessor) is how PTSD was presented. Many books just pass it casually if their H has it. But here, we get a deep understanding of how PTSD can ruin a person's mind and take hold of their life. It becomes a monster occupying your soul, and the only way to quench this monster's thirst is through acts of violence. You become a danger not just to yourself, but also to the people around you. Breaker went to hell and came back with a severe case of PTSD. Unfortunately, he did not get the family support he needed. As a matter of fact, his family were kind of jerks to him. until his case got worse and worse to the point only a miracle could save him Enter Kennedy and his twins. Kennedy, where do I even begin with this beautiful specimen of a women. I've read the other books and where Layla was too sweet for me, Cara was a spitfire but still wanted more from here, and Sophie was a bit docile, Kennedy was a combination of all that and more She embraced her femininity, in a world where this is looked down upon even by some women. She knows she's beautiful and has no problem showing it. At the same time, she is no pushover. She wants what she wants and is not afraid to get it. She was young when she fell in love with Snow and still made him work for her She is caring and selfless but at the same time driven and ambitious She's a great mother, again living in a world shunning single mothers, she has no problem telling everyone that her kids are her priority She knows her worth and boy did she make Breaker work for her forgiveness. I loved how PTSD was not used as an excuse for immediate forgiveness. Whatever one goes through is not an excuse to hurt others. Breaker knew that and worked his ass off to better himself mentally for his family. Knew he had a long way to earn back Kennedy's trust on the other hand, Kennedy, although she was a bit bitch but I loved her for it, was 100% supportive. And I don't mean she throw herself on him, I mean she understood his condition and his struggle and did not undermine him. She knew he will live with shadows all his life and accepted that. Breaker and Kennedy were the perfect combinations of Sugar and Spice and everything nice and scary. God! I am writing too much, but that is how much good this book is! I loved all the characters in the book The kids were amazing (looking forward to the Next-Generation of Speed Demons' books) the Old ladies were beautifully presented the MC brothers and Prez's acceptance was astounding the setting for future books and spin-offs was a genius move The writing style was heartwrenching yes, there were a few mistakes here and there BUT WHO THE FCK CARES! The only thing left for me to say is <b>"Life has tested us, almost to our destruction, but through it all, we'd remained true to ourselves" Kit "Breaker/Snow" Stone </b> ... show more

  • Wow...
After reading Snow, I wasn't sure how this story would go but I just had to finish their story. There was so much pain from the main characters that had to be processed that I just couldn't see a way for them to breach their divide. And yet Jules Ford figured out how to make the happily ever after happen. I was rooting for Breaker for the whole story, knowing that at some point he'd be able to get his love back. I really enjoyed the buildup of the back story, the plot development, and even the hilarious portions of the story. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the other characters as they not only get their happily ever afters, but continue their stories among their friends. I appreciate how the discussion of PTSD and treatment and how important it is to not turn blind eyes to our loved one struggles was handled in the story. Mental health is no joke, and our servicemen and women who struggle with PTSD are ones that are often left out in the cold without appropriate services in place. I appreciate it. How Jules covered this topic in a way that was handled. Lovingly while also shining a spotlight on the struggles that are happening. The twins were the cake topper for me in the story, their characters were absolutely hilarious and I can't wait to see their stories in the future. There were a few typos and wonky sentences, but these did not distract or detract from the story at all. I literally couldn't put it down! And as always, "Assless" still is my favorite character. ... show more

  • Breaker broke me..then built me!
This was the most amazing book. It continues from Snow, explaining what happened to keep Breaker and Kennedy apart. OMG. What this man went though in Afghanistan. The author captured the events and then the devastation to the minds of our soldiers from the things they had to do during these wars. Breaker was on a downward spiral so hard, it was heartbreaking, his family didn't understand until it was almost too late. I think everyone can take something away from this book, it has a great second chance romance but the PTSD and what I learned and felt for these people was just as much a part of it. Such a great book. You definitely need to read Snow prior to this book but I recommend reading all of the Speed Demons series for the best experience. You won't regret it, they are all great, but Cash is working on redemption, he really messed up. This book explained partly why he's like he is. The family finds that counseling is helpful for more than PTSD. Don't let him ruin it for you. The series is amazing!!! I love you Jules Ford!!! ... show more

  • BREAKER AND HIS KITTEN
First off, read the trigger warnings before you read the book. This book heavily involves PTSD and addiction and the turmoils that can come with it. It's definitely not to be taken lightly. What an incredibly beautiful, poignant, well written story that evokes such emotion. You feel every single pain, every single heartache and every single victory these characters feel. It's a story about destruction, rebuilding, survival, overcoming and the power of love. "The fact was death had been a long time coming. I was empty, my insides a void where evil reigned. I had nothing inside left to give." This character lived such a traumatic existence and there seems to be no way out for him. Finding his Kitten after all of these years sends both of them spiraling. “His heart’s sick, And his head’s stormy inside like thunder and lightning.” This author has brought ANOTHER heartbreaking, intense, agonizing, fantastic story that left me utterly and completely depleted. "I was broken without you, I was half a man stumbling through life, missing half of my broken soul." "Finally, I’d come home." ... show more

  • Thank You
Thank you Jules Ford for tackling a subject so traumatic as PTSD. This book handles the repercussions of so many of our countries heroes face dealing with PTSD. It’s not easy and it’s lifelong. I really enjoyed the way she dealt with such a subject, but yet at points some of the situation that the characters get into, I laughed, so hard that I couldn’t continue reading the page This book is a continuation of Snow and Kitty’s story in the Speed Demons MC saga Kit has a lot of demons to conquer, and to subdue before he can win back The other half of his soul who is very reluctant, and the mother of his children. Kitty has her claws out and isn’t afraid to use them to protect her children and her heart. The family dynamics in this are hilarious and deep at times I highly recommend this book for anyone Who wants a deep emotion provoking read with a bit of hilarity and stomach ache laughs thrown in. ... show more

  • Magnificent!
Kit and Kennedy's story has been a long, hard road. But even through the trauma, the heartache, the lies, the despair, the love still shines through. So well written, you feel Kit's sorrow, his PTSD a living, breathing monster trying to devour him whole. He doesn't let it win though, he fights for his family - his kids and his woman. Along the way, not only does he heal the fractured connection with his woman, but with his family too. The laughter that brightens some of the heavier emotions was so welcome and very in keeping with this entire series. Its a beautiful story, not easy or for the faint of heart but truly worth all the tears. Because in the end, there is redemption, there is joy and a soul deep love. Magnificent! ... show more

  • So Good!
I was dying for Kit’s book and his and Kennedy’s story was everything I hoped for. It was heartwarming and heartbreaking and left me with all the feels. I loved watching these two find their way back to each other. Kennedy didn’t forgive easily and I love a good grovel. I’m happy to say Kit did well and worked his way back in to her heart. The PTSD aspect was well written and you really felt for what Kit went through. I loved catching up with the other Speed Demons as the story went on. And that ending! Whew, I really hope Kady is getting her own book bc I NEED it. ... show more

  • A great read!
I usually don't write reviews but this storyline was fantastic and heartbreaking at the same time. The focus on PTSD is much needed. It was done with class and honesty. You revealed the elephant in the room. PTSD affects everyone in the family. The relationship between Kit and Kitten was great. It showed the struggles couples go through. This couple gets their HEA but the road there is full of bumps and potholes. Keep up the good work Jules Ford. ... show more

  • I felt everything!
I felt everything! You had me crying at the beginning but this one has everything. After the tears, there was a lot of heartbreak (fitting for Snow/ Breaker's Speed Demon moniker). There was a lot of humor and action. It brings to light something that most people never think about. Our Military people should never be thrown out in the cold. They give so much for us and get very little in return. I feel this story is the best in the series so far. ... show more

  • Spectacular
Breaker and his Kitten’s story continues in the stunningly breathtaking story. We got there backstory and heartbreak in the previous novella. All the pain of a man lost to PTSD and the woman who loses him is gently and lovingly detailed. I had to pause several time due to overwhelming emotions. This book will make you laugh and cry and root the whole way for this family to find their way. And my goodness do they ever have a spectacular HEA. I absolutely loved this book and wish I could leave more than 5 stars. ... show more

  • Soul deep
This story hits you soul deep and right through the heart. Struggling with PTSD and seeming to think there is no way out until his Kitten is standing right in front of him. His demons are powerful and sometimes rule him. Can his one true love help him along with his MC? Kady and Kai had me in awe with their innocence and strength. There is pain, heartache, anger and all kinds of other emotions in this story that will have your heart beating a mile a minute. ... show more

I felt this book in my soul. All the ups and downs are the rollercoaster of life. You fall for both characters in Snow and find that true love can last a lifetime in Breaker. Thank you Jules for writing an unforgettable story of redemption.

This book was fantastic. It went extremely deep into the feelings of PTSD and betrayal. Kennedy is my favorite female lead character and she proved it again in this book. Make sure you read the entire series before you get to this book.
