It can be read as a standalone book or in any order with the others - although you may end up with spoilers for the other books if you read this first. Ariana DeLuca graduated from the Culinary Institute and spent time in New York, but now she's back home working at her parents' diner, Moe's. Moe's has been a part of their family for generations, and Ari wants to honor that legacy while elevating some of their menu options. Dashiel Buckley has been in Hollywood pursuing his dreams of being an actor. After receiving many rejections from auditions, though, he heads back home to Cherry Tree Harbor to work on his emotional depth. Dash and Ari have a history together. Small Town Swoon had me in its grasp from the beginning, and the journey through to the epilogue and bonus scene was everything I hoped it would be. The spice was perfect. If you're anything like me, you'll swoon for Small Town Swoon! Whether you're new to Melanie Harlow or love her already, this is definitely a book to pick up and devour.

I have been CRAVING Dash’s story, the mysterious, prodigal Buckley child, the Hollywood star who has been absent of the Cherry Tree Harbor world for the most part. But career frustrations and a heavy dash (pun intended) of fate and some psychic intervention leads him home…and back to his sister’s best friend who ONCE adored him, but after an embarrassing act of teenage desperation and love, now can’t stand to be around him. From their heartbreaking teen blunder, I was obsessed with them both. Their heart, the depth of their feelings, the beautiful way they care for each other even if they aren’t aligned. The connection just sparkles between them. There is a really beautiful gentleness to this book. One that I found so refreshing and heart-lifting. While certainly Ari and Dash have quite a lot of historical frustration and unaddressed tension between them, this felt more friends to lovers than enemies to lovers as their story progresses. And that’s because of something so beautiful- emotional maturity. Instead of holding onto their adolescent issues, Melanie allows them to be the grown and changed folks they are. To see their past situation in a new light, to resolve it, and to start a friendship anew. And that friendship is just so gosh darn SWEET. These two fall so beautifully and patiently. A beautiful hesitant friendship that grows to substantial and real. What I most loved about this story was the ease and authenticity of the chemistry. These two are just so adorable together, two halves of a whole. And their relationship develops with an ease and simplicity that truly befits the friends to lovers tropes. Ari and Dash beautifully see each other for all of their parts…and they both gently, but rigorously, inspire and challenge each other to lean into their full potential, professionally and as a partner. There’s something so beautiful about a relationship that amplifies all that makes each amazing, they are truly their best selves with each other. And that’s all because they end up being the safe space for one another to be vulnerable, be REAL. All of that emotional unclogging that Dash so needs LOL…but turns out, Ari does too. Their love story is really sweet and not super angsty, but it has a quiet emotional chord, a heartfelt tenderness that squeezed my heart…and also made me smile. Melanie Harlow always charms me- and Small Town Swoon is just a feel good delight. I’m so in love with this world and this whole family, and I love seeing them all find their much deserved HEAs…because in Melanie Harlow’s world, all romances DO end with HEAs. Swoon.

This book. I can’t begin to tell you the love I feel for this book. Melanie Harlow can do no wrong, and she delivers an epic childhood crush/best friend’s brother romance with a celebrity hero, banter, steam, and all the swoon! Dash and Ari owned my heart, and I loved watching these two soulmates come together. Light-hearted, fun, super sexy and beautifully romantic, it was just what I was in the mood for! Ari has crushed on her best friend’s older brother since her teens. That is, until one night he unknowingly crushes her fairytale dreams to little pieces, leaving her heartbroken and their relationship shattered. Fast forward eight years later, Dash is a Hollywood star and Ari is a talented waitress working in her parents diner. When Dash returns home to attend a wedding, Ari’s bitterness vanishes and old feelings resurface and a former friendship is reignited. Their story is equal parts sweet, romantic, funny and emotional, and when all put together together it’s the most engaging thing. Easy, natural and drama free, I loved their relationship. Their friendship is easily recaptured, and the chemistry between them is there from the very beginning. And when they both recognise their epic sexual tension and start to realise that true feelings are becoming involved, they don’t fight it. But it’s very clear that their connection is just as much emotional and physical, and I loved watching things change between them as their relationship becomes very real. They are so completely devoted to each other, and watching them come to the realisation of the depth of everything between them is so, so beautiful. Seriously, the amount of butterflies this book has given me is no joke. I could practically feel the sparks and connection between Dash and Ari. The best part about the whole book was how easygoing and effortless it was. It was honestly such a wonderful read. The rich characters, wonderful writing, and the chemistry is what had me 100% committed to this book. I loved the little nuances, the pull these two had for one another and the overall story was off the charts. I loved every second of this book, and I finished this book with a huge smile on my face.

Another hit from Cherry Tree Harbor! I couldn’t put this down. I laughed, cried, and laughed some more. The plot was nicely paced and the characters were interesting. I loved the continued relationships between all the characters that are continued throughout the series. I am excited to read the next (and sadly the last) book in the series, though I don’t want it to end. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know all the Buckleys and their partners.

Ari DeLuca has had a crush on her best friends older brother, Dash Buckley, for a long time. After a very embarrassing encounter when she was a teenager she’s decided it’s easier to hate Dash. After becoming a chef and returning home to help in her family’s diner she realizes Cherry Tree Harbor is her home and she’s there to stay…after all Dash lives in Hollywood now so there’s no issue having to deal with her feeling for him anymore. Dash Buckly has always felt bad for embarrassing Ari DeLuca but he knew he made the best decision for everyone at the time. Now he’s at a crossroads with his Hollywood career and needs to work on himself to get bigger better roles. He decides to go back home without telling anyone to do that. Of course the first person he runs into is Ari. After Dash helps Ari out at the diner while she’s in a bind she decides she’s going to help him with his plan to work on himself. And this is where the fun starts. This wonderful story has everything you want in a romantic read: humor, steam!, protective hero, emotions and a HEA!

Ari and Dash are just so adorable dumb. Not once was that a friends with benefits situation. It was a relationship without them admitting it. I thought, or rather hoped, that there would have been more of a resistance from Ari in the beginning. However, that majestic land mermaid jumped right on the Dash express. For me, there wasn't as much of an emotional pull while reading. Maybe I just didn't connect as well with these two? It was still a cute story and an enjoyable read

After reading Austin's, Xander's, and Devlin's books, I couldn't wait for Dash and Ari's book!!!! Previously I said that Devlin's book was my absolute favorite of them all, but I may have to edit my comment. Dash was just the most lovable, sweet, caring, and HOTTEST of the brothers!!!! The way he treated Ari and cared for her even though he hadn't figured out he was in love with her yet!!! Dash became an actor because of a first grade teacher who convinced him to try out for a school play. It was just after his mom had died and it gave him the opportunity to get lost in a character that wasn't him. So, he decided to go to Hollywood and give it a go. He became famous for a roll on a teen show that really only showed him in swim trucks with very little depth. But it earned him a living. The show ends and he is floundering. He can't get any good roles and doesn't know what to do. He winds up going home for an extended time before Devlin's wedding. Ari is Mable's best friend and has been a part of the Buckley's lives since she was a kid. She has been in love with Dash since she was a teenager. He rejected her right before he left for LA and it hurt her so badly, she hasn't been able to speak to him since. But the love never faded. When he comes back, they try to become friends and get past the hurt of the rejection. This leads to them acting on feelings for each other that they haven't admitted to yet. They were just so perfect together!!!! I don't think I've read a couple that meshed together so seamlessly from the beginning! They were made for each other, but they didn't want to face those feelings. It was amazing when they finally did!!!! It was wonderful to visit Cherry Tree Harbor again and all it's residents. All of the Buckley family, as well as Ari's family. It's a place I wish was real so I could visit sometime!!!! This book is number 4 in a series and I highly recommend diving right in with Austin's book first. Trust me, you'll be lost for days to these brothers and this town!!!!!

I so appreciate it when an author catches me by surprise with how a story they've written plays out, and that's what Melanie Harlow has done with Dash and Ari's romance. I'll be honest--I was prepared to have to work my way towards liking Dash. Maybe it was because of how he was in the first chapter, particularly, that meeting with Delphine (sorry, no extra details because, hello, spoilers). That initial impression, however, turned out to be truly premature because Dash was a stellar male main character. Was he perfect? Not in the least, but there was an earnestness to him that made him far more endearing as compared to had he been cocky and overbearing. He and Ari made sense together, and while the tagline of the book mentions that he's a Hollywood heartthrob, and she's a small town waitress, there is so much more to them than those labels. I loved seeing them navigate their way from the awkward history they shared to actual friends and then friends with benefits to their happily-ever-after. And that epilogue? Chef's kiss! Five stars go to the swoon-worthy Small Town Swoon. Dare I hope for Mabel's book next?
