Description

Only in the movies does the Hollywood heartthrob fall for the small town diner waitress. So when Dashiel Buckley returns to Cherry Tree Harbor for a wedding, I’m determined not to let my massive crush on my best friend’s older brother hijack my good sense.(It happened once before. Do not recommend.)But when my hand is injured, it’s Dash who steps in at the diner. The moment he realizes I can’t afford to fix my car, he takes care of it. And when he hears about the way my toxic ex treated me, he refuses to let it go.Now it’s not just his blue eyes and sexy smile that have me swooning, it’s the way he wants to help me. Encourage me. Protect me.I can’t resist. Our text messages heat up. Our phone calls melt all my defenses. “Just friends” turns into “just once,” and “just once” becomes a distant memory. Night after night, he warms my bed, my body, and my heart. But it can’t last. Our dreams have us on two different paths–Dash wants the lights, camera, action of Hollywood, and I’ll always be a small town girl.If only I could be his. • The swooniest of swoons!
Format: Kindle
This book. I can’t begin to tell you the love I feel for this book. Melanie Harlow can do no wrong, and she delivers an epic childhood crush/best friend’s brother romance with a celebrity hero, banter, steam, and all the swoon! Dash and Ari owned my heart, and I loved watching these two soulmates come together. Light-hearted, fun, super sexy and beautifully romantic, it was just what I was in the mood for! Ari has crushed on her best friend’s older brother since her teens. That is, until one night he unknowingly crushes her fairytale dreams to little pieces, leaving her heartbroken and their relationship shattered. Fast forward eight years later, Dash is a Hollywood star and Ari is a talented waitress working in her parents diner. When Dash returns home to attend a wedding, Ari’s bitterness vanishes and old feelings resurface and a former friendship is reignited. Their story is equal parts sweet, romantic, funny and emotional, and when all put together together it’s the most engaging thing. Easy, natural and drama free, I loved their relationship. Their friendship is easily recaptured, and the chemistry between them is there from the very beginning. And when they both recognise their epic sexual tension and start to realise that true feelings are becoming involved, they don’t fight it. But it’s very clear that their connection is just as much emotional and physical, and I loved watching things change between them as their relationship becomes very real. They are so completely devoted to each other, and watching them come to the realisation of the depth of everything between them is so, so beautiful. Seriously, the amount of butterflies this book has given me is no joke. I could practically feel the sparks and connection between Dash and Ari. The best part about the whole book was how easygoing and effortless it was. It was honestly such a wonderful read. The rich characters, wonderful writing, and the chemistry is what had me 100% committed to this book. I loved the little nuances, the pull these two had for one another and the overall story was off the charts. I loved every second of this book, and I finished this book with a huge smile on my face. ... show more

  • All the rom com spicy GOODNESSS
Format: Kindle
Oh Melanie you have done it AGAIN GIRL! Seriously h can’t choose between the Buckley brothers bc they are AMAZING in their own right. As a rom com movie lover I got all the Easter eggs and references and that made all the nostalgia run through me along with the hotness of Dashials mouth. The Hollywood depictions and stereotypes all fit in there and what’s more LA that a physic reading where he “gets naked” and “opens his heart space” HILARIOUS AND GENIUS GIRL!!!! I love love loved Ari!!! She so down to earth and so loving and it was so easy for me to not only want to receive all the wonderful things Dash did for her but also root for her success during the entirety of the book! The family aspects of this place are incredible and I loved how you included more details about Devlin and Lexies wedding! It was so freaking beautifulllllllllll Well done! (Give me more pls I will never have enough) ... show more

  • Small Town Swoon - Swoonworthy!
Format: Kindle
ARC Review - Small Town Swoon is the fourth book in the Cherry Tree Harbor series. It can be read as a standalone book or in any order with the others - although you may end up with spoilers for the other books if you read this first. Ariana DeLuca graduated from the Culinary Institute and spent time in New York, but now she's back home working at her parents' diner, Moe's. Moe's has been a part of their family for generations, and Ari wants to honor that legacy while elevating some of their menu options. Dashiel Buckley has been in Hollywood pursuing his dreams of being an actor. After receiving many rejections from auditions, though, he heads back home to Cherry Tree Harbor to work on his emotional depth. Dash and Ari have a history together. Ari's best friend is Dash's little sister, Mabel, so they spent a lot of time together as children. However, their relationship took a turn when Ari tried to get Dash to see her as more than just his little sister's best friend before he went off to Hollywood. Over the years, Ari has forgiven Dash for this and understands it was for the best. Now, they're both back in the town they grew up in and spending time together again. Ari makes a plan to help Dash unblock his emotions and expand his emotional depth as an actor - they'll watch specific movies she has picked, and he'll sample the food she makes. While Ari is helping Dash, he's falling for her (although he doesn't want to think about any strings being attached!) and trying to help her follow her own dreams. When he gets the call he's been waiting for, he heads back to Hollywood, and the pair go their separate ways. Is this the end of their story? Will they be content to remain friends from now on? Or...? This was a cute story, full of all the feel-good feelings Melanie Harlow gives us. The communication between Ari and Dash, the chemistry, and the relationship they built are all top-tier. Small Town Swoon had me in its grasp from the beginning, and the journey through to the epilogue and bonus scene was everything I hoped it would be. The spice was perfect. If you're anything like me, you'll swoon for Small Town Swoon! Whether you're new to Melanie Harlow or love her already, this is definitely a book to pick up and devour. ... show more

  • 5 STARS! Heart-warming, heat-filled & humorous!
Format: Kindle
Small-Town Swoon is the fourth book in Melanie Harlow’s Cherry Harbor series, and it was a captivating read cover-to-cover. Harlow expertly captured the characters’ emotions as she took readers through the intricacies of a brother’s best friend/second-chance romance between Ari, the small-town girl, and Dash, the Hollywood heartthrob. The chemistry between Ari and Dash blazed, and their friends-with-benefits dynamic stoked the fire burning between them and kept me furiously tapping my Kindle. Melanie’s impeccable storytelling skills brought the backdrop of this small town to life, infusing the setting with charm, warmth, and a nostalgic energy. Dash was a naturally protective hero, and the blossoming romance between him and Ari was heartwarming yet heady, swoony but sweet, and the authentic way this relationship evolved evoked a whirlwind of emotions in me. I laughed, I swooned, my heart soared and it raced as I rooted for Ari and Dash’s love to conquer all. A heart-warming, heat-filled and humorous romance, Small-Town Swoon perfectly showcased Harlow's innate talent for creating endearing characters and crafting their heartfelt love stories. Five smooches from me for Small-Town Swoon by Melanie Harlow! ... show more

Ari DeLuca has had a crush on her best friends older brother, Dash Buckley, for a long time. After a very embarrassing encounter when she was a teenager she’s decided it’s easier to hate Dash. After becoming a chef and returning home to help in her family’s diner she realizes Cherry Tree Harbor is her home and she’s there to stay…after all Dash lives in Hollywood now so there’s no issue having to deal with her feeling for him anymore. Dash Buckly has always felt bad for embarrassing Ari DeLuca but he knew he made the best decision for everyone at the time. Now he’s at a crossroads with his Hollywood career and needs to work on himself to get bigger better roles. He decides to go back home without telling anyone to do that. Of course the first person he runs into is Ari. After Dash helps Ari out at the diner while she’s in a bind she decides she’s going to help him with his plan to work on himself. • Cute
Format: Kindle
Ari and Dash are just so adorable dumb. Not once was that a friends with benefits situation. It was a relationship without them admitting it. I thought, or rather hoped, that there would have been more of a resistance from Ari in the beginning. However, that majestic land mermaid jumped right on the Dash express. For me, there wasn't as much of an emotional pull while reading. Maybe I just didn't connect as well with these two? It was still a cute story and an enjoyable read ... show more

  • HOLY COW - THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!
After reading Austin's, Xander's, and Devlin's books, I couldn't wait for Dash and Ari's book!!!! Previously I said that Devlin's book was my absolute favorite of them all, but I may have to edit my comment. Dash was just the most lovable, sweet, caring, and HOTTEST of the brothers!!!! The way he treated Ari and cared for her even though he hadn't figured out he was in love with her yet!!! Dash became an actor because of a first grade teacher who convinced him to try out for a school play. It was just after his mom had died and it gave him the opportunity to get lost in a character that wasn't him. So, he decided to go to Hollywood and give it a go. He became famous for a roll on a teen show that really only showed him in swim trucks with very little depth. But it earned him a living. The show ends and he is floundering. He can't get any good roles and doesn't know what to do. He winds up going home for an extended time before Devlin's wedding. Ari is Mable's best friend and has been a part of the Buckley's lives since she was a kid. She has been in love with Dash since she was a teenager. He rejected her right before he left for LA and it hurt her so badly, she hasn't been able to speak to him since. But the love never faded. When he comes back, they try to become friends and get past the hurt of the rejection. This leads to them acting on feelings for each other that they haven't admitted to yet. They were just so perfect together!!!! I don't think I've read a couple that meshed together so seamlessly from the beginning! They were made for each other, but they didn't want to face those feelings. It was amazing when they finally did!!!! It was wonderful to visit Cherry Tree Harbor again and all it's residents. All of the Buckley family, as well as Ari's family. It's a place I wish was real so I could visit sometime!!!! This book is number 4 in a series and I highly recommend diving right in with Austin's book first. Trust me, you'll be lost for days to these brothers and this town!!!!! ... show more

  • “This felt like more than strings.”
Format: Kindle
Cherry Tree Harbor and the Buckley siblings are some of my favorite things, so it was a real treat to return to them for Dash and Aria's story. Dash is the Hollywood hottie of the Buckley siblings, but he's looking to pursue deeper, more meaningful roles. His agent recommends some time away from the noise and busyness of LA for some soul searching, so Dash goes home to Cherry Tree Harbor early for his brother's wedding. Aria once had big dreams, and has even bigger talent, but she's back home managing and waitressing in her family's diner. As best friends to his little sister, Aria is very familiar with Dashiel Buckley, but he's been her least favorite person since “the incident.” After Dash comes to her rescue during a kitchen injury, Aria decides she'll help him with his career. The more time they spend together, the more the friendship grows. Their life goals will always be in conflict, so they'll need to enjoy the time they have together, knowing it can never be anything more than a short-term, no-strings fling. There are so many amazing elements in this one! The Buckleys and the found family they collect are so special, the way Aria stood up for herself had me cheering for her, and Dash's interpretation of the career advice he was given had me in stitches. Charming, witty, steamy, and heartfelt, you'll love every second you spend with Dash and Aria. Run to the 1-Click and start reading this one right away! ... show more
