These cards have no characters on the "face" cards, just the same pips as the Aces, and the Jokers just have a large X. This is a 4-color no-revoke deck, great for trick-taking games but not so good for games that need a normal 2-color deck like Klondike or Euchre. The cards have an inverse color scheme, where the text and pips are white and the backgrounds are colored. The cards are better than average for Chinese-made cards. They shuffle a bit better out of the box than Bicycle, but they have a smooth surface like Maverick. I usually prefer cards with a textured or "linen" finish. The tuck is much nicer than most, a thick two-part sliding box instead of the thin single piece carton most cards come in. It's similar to the tuck used for the Bicycle Prestige. ... show more

I bought the cards mainly for the 4-color suits, which makes a 4-of-a-kind poker hand easier to identify. I love the custom box, but the manufacturer chose to use sticky tape to hold the lid with the bottom. After removing the tape, it unfortunately leaves a sticky residue on both the lid and the bottom. Sadly, this means that I will have to throw away the custom box, and put the cards in another card case instead. As other reviewers have said, the paper quality of the cards is just OK. The quality is noticeably lower than a regular deck of Bicycle cards. The Bicycle cards have an air cushion finish, making them easier to shuffle, and more luxurious to handle, than these Brass Monkey cards. And, I would have preferred if these cards were made of plastic, not paper. Paper is less durable, especially with kids who have sweaty hands, and paper is more likely to be bent out of shape. ... show more

These were a little gift to myself and I'm very happy with them! They're easy to shuffle and feel great in my hands. The cards are a bit stiff (or actually durable) and might be harder for kids learning to shuffle. But I play solitaire pretty often so I'd rather have stiff cards that will last longer. ... show more
