Just what I needed, wanted, and expected!
This is a very, very high-quality headphone holder. The 3 things I LOVE about it are: 1. High quality build. It's built of thick metal with a very hard, matte coating of paint. 2. It can be mounted to a horizontal surface (such as a desktop, table top, shelf, etc) OR a vertical surface (such as a desk leg, bookshelf side, etc). I chose to mount it to a desk vertical support just below the desktop, that way the holder won't take up ANY of my desktop surface. 3. The actual holder where the headphones sit is curved. Too many companies make a flat surfaced headphone holder. Over time, the corners of that flat surface will be evident on the headphone band. So, to be fair.... here are 3 criticisms of the headphone holder: 1. The round, silver part of the clamp is fixed on the screw that you use to tighten/loosen the clamp. It would be better if the round part was able to swivel on the screw as you tightened it. This would prevent the silver clamp from marring surfaces. 2. The screw which holds the headphone holding piece to the mounting bracket piece(s) sticks out to where your headphones go (this is visible in the product photos). It isn't a sharp screw, so it shouldn't scratch or damage anyone's headphones, BUT it does take up some real estate which may be needed for large head bands. It's not an issue for me, but it may be for some. 3. Um.... nope. I don't have a 3rd criticism. A couple items of note: 1. I don't see anything about a warranty listed in the product description. The product box states that there is a 12-month warranty. However, the documentation included inside the box clearly states there is a 24-month warranty. With that said.... I don't think anything could go wrong in 24 YEARS with this... maybe it would start to rust at some point, if exposed to enough moisture?? 2. Seemed some other reviewers didn't know what to do with their headphone cords and said they still hang down to the ground. The easy solution is to wrap/loop the cord up and place it on the headphone holder first, then when you put your headphones on the holder, it'll hold the cord in place. I think that should work for all but the largest, fluffiest headphones. ... show more

Works like you expect it to
Its exactly what you expect it to be and it works as well as or even better then you want it to. I have three now and every one has the same high level of quality. The are very sturdily built with metal and have a nice scratch resistant finish. And they even look really cool as well! In fact I have gotten a few comments and questions on them by friends and family members. So they definitely add that edgy/minimalist/sophisticated look to wherever you place them. They are not obtrusive and take up only a very small space provided you have a good area to put them. I have them in our media room which has one wall with floor to ceiling built in bookshelves. I keep a variety of different items on these shelves as this tends to be our (me/wife/teenage kids) hangout or playroom. I have a shelf dedicated to various audio and gaming accessories so I have placed the three I have on the front of this shelf. Headphones and associated cables fit nicely on them. I just wind any cords in a loose loop and place at the back of the hanger and the headphones in front of that. I was at first worried that it might not be deep enough to hold the headphones or that it should be tilted a little or have some type of lip at the front so they won't side off but this has not been a problem for me. I mean, a small lip at the front would be a bonus for the added security but I haven't had an issue with them falling or even being accidentally knocked off so I really can't complain. Just for size reference, we have a few different headphones that each get some time on these hangers and all fit fine. Super high quality; a tad pesky with the emails.
After reading several reviews, I ordered one of these to give it a try. My main concern was that there was no "lip" on the end to prevent headphones from falling off the edge. But since many of the reviews that mentioned this concern also mentioned that they had not experienced this as a recurring problem, I decided to buy one. The product is fairly simple in concept, but is well-made, almost "over-designed" for its function. It's high quality metal, and fully adjustable to fit a fairly wide range of table thicknesses, and can even be rotated to mount onto a vertical surface. It does it's job quite well, so I ultimately ordered two more. Several reviewers mentioned some confusion with regard to how to adjust this to fit different thicknesses. The hanger comes with a double sided tool for the adjustments, so I have a hard time understanding how this was not intuitive for people. I'm giving it four stars for two reasons. First, it really would have been better with a lip at the end to help prevent headphones from falling off. I have bumped a pair and knocked them off already. So you either need to mount these out of the way, or be mindful that his is possible. Secondly, the sellers were a tiny bit aggressive with the emails. I did place two orders, the first for one, and the second for two. So far, I think I've received five (assuming automated) emails from the seller. While I appreciate the appearance of dedicated service, I sort of feel like their true motivation is for harvesting 5-star reviews. If they really want to wow me with customer service, how about designing a rubber "lip" that can be slid on to the end to solve the minor design flaw, and sending them free to everyone who as purchased these? I'd give a 5-star rating for that! Overall, a well-made product that isn't likely to fail or wear out any time soon. Does its job, and little else
If you're in need of a bit of metal with some screws to hold your headphones, look no further! It was a breeze to set up with the included tools, and they accomodated my Sennheiser HD 380 Pros just fine, even keeping them afloat when something bumps into my nightstand. The Hengja is fairly attractive as well, so it wouldn't look out of place in a studio or game room environment. That's all I can say about it, really. It doesn't really do much else, and that's fine. My only real complaint is that you basically have to figure out what to do with the headphone cable yourself, given that they don't provide any extra room for anything but the thinnest 3.5mm cables. Chances are if you value your headphones enough to even consider a product like this, they're probably higher end headphones, or at the very least >$100. In my experience those tend to either be coiled or braided, and don't lend themselves to wrapping well. It makes me wish that Amazon had a 4.5 stars option, but this isn't a big enough problem to warrent a 4 star rating, especially considering how well made it is for $15. Plus since it uses a screw-based mounting system instead of an epoxy-based system (sticky system? Double sided tape system? I dunno), you can use and reuse it as often as you like. A very high quality useful headphone hanger!
I have several pairs of headphones that I use. Since I like to game, I have a set that I use with my XBOX and a different set when gaming on my PC. The problem I had was storing my headphones when not in use. I hate to lay them on a tabletop, because it puts stress on the hinge assembly, although slight. It was also annoying because a set of headphones lying on a desktop can steal a lot of room, and I prefer my desktop and entertainment center clutter free. I looked at the tabletop stands, and found quite a few that I liked - and most likely one of them would have fit the bill with one exception. Once again a tabletop headphone stand would take up desk space. After more research I ran across the Brainwavz Hengja headphone desk hanger and purchased it. Upon opening the package I was immediately impressed. It is very solid and well built. It is also a well engineered convenience item, because it will allow you to mount it horizontally or vertically, while leaving the platform rest for the headphone level. It mounts along the edge of a desk or workstation which nearly eliminates using your desktop space. Now my headphones hang on a very sturdy useful and stylish headphone hanger - out of my way. It eliminates the concern over the hinge assembly near the cups being bent or damaged due to even slight stress from my headphones own weight. The Brainwavz Hengja hangs out of my way, but within easy reach when I want to wear my headphones. Does one thing very well
This headphone hanger is versatile, easy to pop on and off, and stays rock solid despite me running bodily into it from time to time. It has faithfully held my PC headphones for four years now, and I am so glad to have it. To quiet some of the fears I have seen about surface damage, it so far has not caused major damage to surfaces I've placed it on. Given that it's metal, there will be wear and tear on tables and desks over time, but if you are careful, you can clamp thin cloths or other batting underneath in an unobtrusive way. There isn't much else to say about a chunk of metal for hanging headphones. If you need one, and this configuration will work for you, go for it. If I needed another hanger, I'd buy a second one of these without hesitation. ... show more

Nice alternative to the stands
Well designed, properly functional. This device allowed me to get the headphones off of the desk. I have the headphone stands, but with the Wacom, drawing pad, legal pad, keyboard, mouse, iPad, iPhone, and junk, I just need to recover the desk space form one less item. I also like that once out of sight, the Sennheisers are no longer a temptation for visitors to my office. I long ago lost speakers as you can't enjoy the classics without volume, and you can't enjoy volume with staff so, headphones it is. But the headphones get worn from sitting and the cords have to be managed. The stand is good, but its one more thing to move to the side of the dual monitors and one more thing eating desk space. Probably not the solution for everyone but the perfect solution for me. Quality product that gets the job done...but there is room for improvement
I really like this product quite a bit but there is one minor change that could improve it quite a bit. It definitely met expectations, seems very well built and installed very easily on my desk. The ability to mount vertically or horizontally is a great feature as well. My primary issue keeping it from being 4 or 5 stars is simply the angle of the hanger. The mount is not very long and hangs completely parallel to the ground or even slopes down ever so slightly. I have had zero issues with my various headphones sliding off on their own, but I can't help but think if they angled upwards or were a little bit longer with a slight lip on the end it would better secure the headphones. I have had multiple incidents where the slightest bump or brushing against them knocks the headset to the ground. I would purchase again and find it to be a great way to clear up desk space, but I would advise users to clamp it far from high traffic areas as the slightest contact will cause them to slip off. A slight design change would make them not only useful, but extend the functionality to include protecting the headphones. ... show more
