  • Very versatile and reasonably priced.
Let me start by saying that if the surface you want to clamp to is not at least 1/2" thick (give or take) you will need some sort of spacer to have enough thickness for the hanger to do its job. Also, the threaded part has no padding so if you are trying to clamp to a surface that can be easily scratched, you will need some sort of padding to protect it. I attached mine to my stereo rack made from 10mm thick tempered glass and used a 1/4" thick piece of Delrin plus a piece of Sorbothane to give the clamp something to clamp on to with some force. The hanger is made from metal and everything is held together by two flat head and one socket head cap screw, plus the threaded chrome-plated piece that provides the clamping force. A neat little combination hex head screwdriver is included to allow you to loosen the cap screw to increase the spacing for surfaces thicker than 1" or to rotate the hanger so it can be mounted on vertical surfaces. I have to say that the cap screw is TIGHT, so only loosen it if you need to! The semi-matte black finish is quite unobtrusive and blends in very well with my black stereo rack. The hanger is quite sturdy and can very easily handle a pair of headphones, or even two or three! Just don't try using it as a handle. It would most likely slip off and mark up whatever it was clamped to. If I had other headphones, I would most definitely purchase this again over other models available on Amazon. ... show more

  • Quality and style without a stupid price.
If your looking for for a simple cheap place to. keep headphones, this is a good looking option. I was looking for a holder that didn't take up. much space, was well made and that could be mounted to a desk edge. This is a much cheaper option than many "stylish" headphone stands, but doesn't feel cheap at all. Often finding a cheaper alternative online, you will buy a product that looks good in pictures. Then when you receive it, the materials quality and fitment is terrible. This was a nice surprise the everything down to the paint finish feels quality and more importantly durable. The easy adjustment for desk thicknesses and included multi-tool meant that I had the mount installed in less than 5 minutes. The plate the headset sits on has a slight curve and was large enough that, my headphones, even with a very soft headband cushion wont have permanent deformation from hanging. The only issue I had was the bolt that adjusts the clamp width was very thight from the factoty. I had to clamp it to a different surface to get enough force on the alen key to break it free. This is my second product from Brainwavz and am very pleased. Overall if you dont want to go crazy with a dedicated place to stash headphones but would rather not just use a hook from Home Depot, this is a solid choice. You get what you pay for and the extra cost feels 100% justified. ... show more

  • Does its job, and little else
If you're in need of a bit of metal with some screws to hold your headphones, look no further! It was a breeze to set up with the included tools, and they accomodated my Sennheiser HD 380 Pros just fine, even keeping them afloat when something bumps into my nightstand. The Hengja is fairly attractive as well, so it wouldn't look out of place in a studio or game room environment. That's all I can say about it, really. It doesn't really do much else, and that's fine. My only real complaint is that you basically have to figure out what to do with the headphone cable yourself, given that they don't provide any extra room for anything but the thinnest 3.5mm cables. Chances are if you value your headphones enough to even consider a product like this, they're probably higher end headphones, or at the very least >$100. In my experience those tend to either be coiled or braided, and don't lend themselves to wrapping well. It makes me wish that Amazon had a 4.5 stars option, but this isn't a big enough problem to warrent a 4 star rating, especially considering how well made it is for $15. Plus since it uses a screw-based mounting system instead of an epoxy-based system (sticky system? Double sided tape system? I dunno), you can use and reuse it as often as you like. I recommend this product to anyone looking to hang their headphones on a bit of metal and some screws. ... show more

  • Stylish minimalist can holder that works though has a few minor issues
1. Clamp height This product almost didn’t work for me because when it came, as you can see in the pic, the clamp looked like it was narrowing towards tip and measured only 1 3/8” after clearing the padding. How can it be since I read it covers up to 1 5/8”? But then I read the direction, loosened the hex to slide the mechanism wider and was able to get it on my studio desk of 1 1/2” thickness. 2. Depth of bracket / Protrusion of holder My desk’s lip is only 1 3/8” deep but it almost fit perfectly so it’s nice and flush. The headphone holder only protrudes a total of 2 7/8” from the face of the desk so my cans stay close to the desk without getting in the way of my Nord 88 keyboard set up perpendicularly to the desk. That’s the reason I went with this item after having my heart almost set on the #1 headphone holder from Eurpmask that protrudes out a whopping 3.93”. 3. Adhesion / Mechanism Unfortunately, I found the adhesion quite lacking- I suspect this was combination of my polished studio desk & the smooth metal of the clamp bolt. Bracket actually shifts around if I try to pry it, but not loose enough for it to be accidentally bumped off. Also, the bolts are a bit finicky to work with because you have to first hold the hex bracket straight while tightening the hex and then tighten the clamp screw which towards the end of its extension takes a ton of force to even budge! And contrary to other reviews mine didn’t come with the Allen key tool, though I had a spare. 4. Style But the product itself seems solid with mat black metal and really works with my dark walnut stained studio desk. Points for this minimalistic style. 5. Use I didn’t feel that my cans easily slipped despite the holder not having any lip. I’ll update after sustained daily use in a few months if it does become an issue. ... show more
