The media could not be loaded. I've installed similar access panels before for things like for plumbing access behind bathtubs. I've worked with better / easier ones than this one. This access panel is good, though not perfect. It can work well if you're specifically looking for a metal one with a KEY lock (I like screwdriver latch locks because it's quick and easy; if someone is motivated, not having a key is not going to stop them from opening this panel). For me, the metal and the paint finish on this panel is great. No major paint defects or bends in mine. The metal itself feels strong and durable, with a good weight to it, so I don't have to worry about it bending easily. Doesn't come with much paper instruction or mounting hardware, but once the drywall is cut, this slid right in place and was easy to install. Looked clean! The one area that could be better is the lock. While the idea is nice, the execution isn't the best. As I was turning the key to test the lock, the screw loosened and which makes the lock useless because the latch will always fall open. I discovered this issue when the lock got caught on the latch, and when I used more force, and eventually realized the lock was turning freely from the door. You can see my video where I am turning the key entire 360s, but because of the way it is built, it doesn't stick very well. When it does work, I was hoping I could use the key to open the door, but pulling on the key just slides the key right out. It would be better if it had a small handle to pull it open, but I guess that would make it less clean looking. Considered using something like a magnet. The lock could be useful if you're careful, but honestly, I now avoid using it to prevent it from loosening and gave up. it's a decent access panel because it's well built, durable, and looks clean. For the price, it's on par with others I have purchased and can say it's compeitive.
