Very easy to assemble. It’s pretty lightweight, so not sure about long term durability. It’s not very sturdy, but would be fine for a small garden with lightweight use. For the price, it’s reasonable quality.

I am so thrilled with this rake - it’s exactly what I needed! I’m not a professional gardener, not even close. But over this past year I’ve started pulling out contractor-installed bushes that didn’t go with our house and envisioning creating an outdoor space where we could actually hang out. Handle Material Research I’d seen many people recommend fiberglass handles because they last forever. While that makes sense, I also saw someone on Reddit say they got slivers of fiberglass in their hand from using a fiberglass-handled snow shovel over the winter. I feel like I’ll want to wear gloves with any garden tool after hearing that concerning reality! Durability Concerns Proved Wrong The tube-like metal segments on this handle made me a bit nervous about durability. I think the segmented design actually increases durability! Value Comparison The price comes in at about the same as a good rake with a fiberglass handle. I don’t know for sure if the tube-style metal handle will last as long or be as durable in the long run. For me, I have no regrets getting this over one with a fiberglass handle though. Understanding the Sizing I didn’t understand the sizes… I ordered the “5jie” as a 5’4” woman thinking it was maybe 5 feet. That’s a long handle as is, but then I got overwhelmed thinking what implementations would require such a long handle. The Adjustable Solution Since it was obvious the handle needed assembly, I figured I could leave out a segment if needed. After receiving it, I see each segment is about 14” and 5 segments is definitely too long for my current needs, so I have an extra tube! Performance Testing I wondered if the hollow tubes would be less sturdy while raking, but I was able to rake a whole section - scraping up entire topsoil and pulling up most weeds - and it feels very sturdy. Since I’m not a professional gardener who might toss tools in questionable places or use them in ways they’re not intended, I have no concerns about this lasting! Real-World Results The long spiked side made quick work of clearing my area and even sort of leveled it (there had been large divots where I’d pulled out bushes). Now I just need to go back with a weed puller for the more stubborn guys. This will save my back a lot of grief since I had been pulling all weeds one by one in the past! I work in construction in So Cal. We specialize in outdoor hardscape and build a lot of concrete walls, outdoor kitchens, decks and patio covers as well as planting and irrigation systems. We generally move a lot of dirt and do a lot of digging as part of every job. I got this tool for free through the Amazon Vine Program where I try out new products and write reviews based on my personal experience. Because of the nature of my business, my company is a great place to test the sturdiness and functionality of tools. Without intentionally damaging tools, we use them in real life settings that would break pretty much any tool that is not designed to handle really tough conditions. The soil in my work areas is generally very hard clay and cobble. It is always hard to dig here and even loose dirt is heavy and full of rocks. I assembled the 2-in-1 Heavy Duty 77in Metal Garden Lawn Rake using the threaded sections provided and bolted the rake to the assembled pole with the tools included. While assembling the threaded sections, I tightened it and it would not stop spinning. Evidently the threads are meant to be snug, but will strip out if tightened with large hands. This is the first hand tool I have owned that didn't have a solid wood, metal or fiberglass pole. I suspect it is very expensive to manufacture and ship a rake with a long solid handle, so this one is made in small sections to fit in a box. The description says this rake "effortlessly breaks up compacted soil and gravel without bending". I can assure you that it does not effortlessly break up the soil in my back yard. A jackhammer might, but not this rake. I was barely able to scratch the surface with this tool before the handle sections came apart. Several of the tines were also bent trying to dislodge rocks from the clay. The description says that this rake head is "Forged from premium, rust-resistant steel". Upon closer inspection it appears to be cut from stamped steel and spot welded to the frame. I actually have several 'forged' tools and they are cast and tempered. This rake has a fancy paint job that makes it look like Damascus steel, but it is just paint. Overall, I use my tools in a commercial setting doing very hard tasks that destroy average gardening tools. A quality forged steel rock rake will usually cost me around $80 with a solid fiberglass or hardwood handle and this type of tool will usually last for several years doing construction work every day. The 2-in-1 Heavy Duty 77in Metal Garden Lawn Rake for Weeding Digger seems like it is better suited for light duty residential gardening tasks. Not everyone can do the work I do for a living, and not every tool is designed to handle the abuse that is necessary to do these jobs.

Heavy duty for sure!! Heavy- I wouldn’t use this for a large project unless you’re strong. Take up grass easily if you’re looking to clear some space for planting seeds! Works pretty good as a surface tiller. Handle is adjustable so you can reach way farther than you can with a regular take.
