Top Amazon Reviews

  • For the price, great product.
First of all, the company offers an amazon giftcard for 5* reviews so read them carefully. I set the 900gal up in my garage and gave it a couple of weeks before writing the review. Setting it up without help was a pretty daunting task. The instructions are nearly useless. The metal is not the thickest and is often cut/stamped roughly, with lots of burred edges that you'll want to remove. The absolute worst part of the design are the sleeves used to connect the the poles that run across the front and back. The design simply does not work. I was able to position the joints so that the leg brackets sandwiched it all together and this helped with rigidity. Do yourself a favor and insert the leg brackets as you slide the front and back poles into position. I taped the end of the poles and used a little vegetable oil to get the poles to slide through the clear plastic. The poles are sharp, hence the taping. There are a LOT of bolts in this thing which I inserted backwards. Inserting them forward put the sharper threaded edges against the plastic material of the pool which seemed like a disaster waiting to happen. Once you get the pool standing be sure to tighten all the bolts as much as you can. I almost feel like they need a torque spec. The corner brackets WILL come apart if you dont clamp them entirely. With the pool filled this is the one point that concerns me in the future. There should be bolts through the bracket and the pipe instead of only the clamp. With all that said, it works. It's flimsy, but it works. For the price you can't beat it if you want a viewing window. The window is nice but it's distorted due to the pool bulging out around every leg (its designed to do this). I built a custom filter with a pond pump and mounted everything so nothing touches the inside of the liner. I also set the pool up on foam insulation board to help protect the bottom as per ohio fish rescue's suggestion (see their youtube channel for pool pond recommendations). I'll be using polycarbonate panels to build a top for it. I believe ,with the construction style, that the 470 gallon would be much more rigid once assembled . I may have purchased 2 of those instead of the 900 if I had it to do over. ... show more

  • This was great for a year. Now it is separating.
Flavor Name: 470-Gal-Black
The media could not be loaded. This was great for a year. Now it is separating. The front clear plastic is pulling away from its second layer. This is causing me a great bit of concern. The setup was arduous, the poles do not like to slide through the clear plastic top seam and also the rest of the top brace pockets. Even with lube. The thing I like though, is seeing my fish. Now if I could just figure out how to fix the bubble issue I’d feel more secure about my fishes safety. ... show more

  • Absolute piece of junk
Flavor Name: 470 Gallons
If I've ever wished I could give something zero stars, this is it. I bought this as a temporary holding tank for my saltwater fish; I am moving 5000 miles from the East Coast to Hawaii. I made a special trip out to HI to set this thing up so then I could the return in a couple of weeks with my fish and have it be all ready. When it arrived I was very surprised the packaging wasn't bigger. It was about 4x4 inches wide and maybe 4ft long. The cardboard box was completely twisted and limp and not sturdy at all. If it wasn't completely wrapped in tape it would have completely fallen apart. I took everything out to set up the holding pond. The actual PVC pond itself was filthy, covered in dust and dirt inside and out; my hands turned black handling it. This thing is supposed to be for live fish. If you put water in here they would die. You'd have to hose this thing completely out and use carbon before you could even think of using it. Now the real issue. This thing is put together by a series of metal poles. There are about 12 metal poles that stand it up and 8 that form the actual frame at the top. Of those 8 frame poles 6 were missing. I could not do anything with this. I made a special trip to HI to set this up so I could bring my fish back in a couple of weeks. Because this thing wasn't packed properly I've now wasted an almost $1K trip and two weeks of time. The poles that were missing were the longest ones. The box that was sent couldn't have even accommodated them. I'm not sure how that was missed. It would have needed either a second box for a significantly larger and longer box for all the items to fit. Unless you have time to waste and like getting ripped off I would highly advise about getting this item. You can get simlar Koi ponds for a fraction of the price that just don't have the see thru window. This thing isn't worth the price or headache. Also, no instructions whatsoever on how to set it up; just a partial parts list that doesn't even tell you how many of certain items there are supposed to be. What a joke! ... show more

  • The layers of the viewing window WILL separate
Relatively easy to set up. Initially there was a slight leak where the valve attaches to the liner. After sealing that, we filled it with water & our turtles & eels lived in it harmoniously for a few weeks until one day, we noticed the bubble. Now the viewing window is distorted in multiple places, the layers have separated & there is water in between. We are quickly trying to cycle tanks & come up with the extra money to buy other tanks or come up with an idea on where & how to house all of our pets.. Considering that we drained half the water out to take stress off of the weakened areas, we are now stressing our turtles & fish. If this thing bursts before we can put together an alternative solution, it will be a disaster. ... show more

  • Inner lining blisters and separates
Flavor Name: 470 Gallons
The inner lining separated and formed a blister that began spreading. Unsure how long the tank will hold with half the thickness blown out. Looks nice, easy setup, nice product. BUT, if I were you I'd seal the lining seams with a bead of aquarium sealant once you have it setup and before filling with water. SIDE NOTE, a vertical swimming pool give you more aquarium for a quarter of the cost but no clear siding. ... show more
