  • Get it right the first time
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
I waited way too long to purchase these. What a game changer! Saves so much time, but more importantly they help you get the screw holes right, the first time! And its made by Bosch so you know its quality.

  • If you don't have a set, get them.
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
Literally the best tool for mounting hinges, brackets, etc. I wish I would have bought these a long time ago. Work great and good quality.

  • Works well.
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
Worked pretty well. When functioning properly, a 5 star product. However I have had to take mine apart a few times to reset the bits Tuesday to coming out of alignment. Still, a good product.

  • Worked as expected
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
I bought these to ensure flat screw instalation in faceplate for fan install in a cabinet that holds my Xbox series X. They worked perfectly to allow me to drill my first perfectly centered screw wholes. The mounting screws are near perfectly flat, the only variance being that the cheaper screws were not centered to begin with, so there is some slight imperfection in the install, but not nearly enough for me to feel it is flawed. I am a novice with wood working, and have attempted quite a bit to train myself and my eyecrometer, so I can center the drill bit by hand and get perfectly straight screws in such an install, that has proven exceptionally difficult, especially given my astigmatism and struggle with depth perception. These bits removed any need for development and allowed me to simply select the right size bit, then put it in the mounting bracket and drill the holes I needed. After merely making sure the mounting bracket didn't move between holes, I have a very professional looking install. Any tool that allows a novice to imitate professional ability is a major win in my book. Bonus, the plunge function of the drill bits were firm enough to keep the bit centered, yet soft enough they didn't pull the painted finish off the mounting plate I was installing. So I didn't have to worry about the screws not covering any piece that may have warn off, if the plunge function were too stiff. ... show more

  • Money well spent
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
I grew up in a cabinet shop, and I was helping my dad not long after I could walk. Here's the deal: I always started screws with a punch that you hit with a hammer. An old German carpenter that went through the guild system before the Second World War taught me to keep a bar of ivory soap in my tool belt. You punch a hole in the center of the butt, coat the screws in soap to lubricate the threads and prevent splitting face frames, and screw away... I used a Yankee screwdriver long before cordless drills became common. Years ago, I got a cheap self-centering drill bit, and chucked it into my (then) high-tech 14 volt cordless drill. The result was worse and slower than what I always did with a hammer. So, I went back to the punch, and I ignored the dirty looks that I got from other finish carpenters. I just figured their disdain for my trusty Stanley punch came from the same ignorance that made them ask me what I needed a coping saw for... Anyways, a couple of presidents have been in office since then, and I really like Bosch tools (I even buy Bosch brand kitchen appliances), so I decided to give it another try. I received these bits about a week ago, and I've used them on probably 2-300 hinges since then. I've gotta tell you, I'm a convert. They are as accurate as they are effortless to use. I have used them on everything from solid mahogany doors to hollow core doors to cabinet doors. They are sharp and they don't gum up with dust. Of course, you could just wing it, like all of the painters do when they put the doors back up. Your screws will all protrude at a funny angle past the face of the hinge, and the doors will all rub the stop in weird places... But, hell... Everyone else does them that way! Or, you could actually act like a real carpenter for once in your life and order these. ... show more

  • Great quality, USA made still
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
These are well made and work great...springs are even ground (which is proper and which you rarely see these days). Surprisingly still made in the US. Very minimal edge/burr cleanup to do and the drill bits are good quality. They'll break in with use but if you want to disassemble and buff the parts with fine scotchbrite, put a small drop of silicone oil in there, they'll be smoother right away. Spring tension is right where it should be. I've used these for several dozen holes and been very pleased with them. I started to do a lot of tiny #4 screws so I picked up the Snappy version for that one...it works fine but it's much stiffer and requires the special extra long drill bit replacements where these Bosch don't - they just use standard jobber length bits so they're simple to replace anywhere you can find them. I think these are better than the Snappy, maybe not quite as nice as the o.g. Vix but close. Looking at photos of broken bits and such I wonder if maybe some guys didn't adjust the bit depth correctly before use. The very tip of the drill bit should be resting inside the end of the nose cone but set in just a tiny amount, like 1/32". That way the cutting edge of the bit is inside the hole so there isn't any binding/jamming when the nose is depressed, but it's also back from the tip just enough to let you set firmly in the hinge hole before the bit contacts the surface. Not sure how that guy's spring got twisted up...really not sure how that could happen in use. ... show more

  • This is AMAZING!
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
I JUST discovered these little gadgets! They are such a wonderful idea! When you have a number of holes to drill in the center of a metal hole (like hinges, caster wheel base etc...), these will drill you a hole (or at least. a pilot hole) 100% in the center every time with mindless ease! I remember futsing around trying to mark the center of the hole with a pencil and NEVER getting it right and getting frustrated! With this, you just put the right size in the drill and buzz! you're done!!! PErfect every time! ... show more

  • Great present for husband/boyfriend
Style: 3pc Set Pattern Name: Bit
I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. Made a great stocking stuffer. Come to find out he already had a set. But he was pretty happy with it because now he has a set to use at work too. So it was still a win.
