  • Great overall exhaust
First the packaging. Boral uses a nice heavy double wall box. All if the components inside are help in place with expanding packing foam. Everything in my kit was well separated and packed. No worries about damage. The tips were also protected with bubble wrap as was the package of clamps. Overall excellent packing. Getting the old exhaust off was by far the worst part of this job, mainly the rear hangers and that is only because the OEM mufflers are so big. Installing the new system was very easy to do in my garage with the car on ramps and jack stands. I used a block of wood as a spacer at the cross member to provide clearance until everything was tight. Fit and finish were great. Everything went together easily. The sound is much deeper now but not overly loud. I honest think the Touring would not be loud enough. If you are looking to make a lot of noise, you might want to move up to the Attack line. Maybe these will get louder with use? I have only driven the car a short distance. Will see where I am at in a couple of weeks. Certainly, happy with it though. ... show more

  • Goldilox Zone
So after much research and debate with myself, I settled on the S-Type exhaust. I drove an identical car with the Borla touring and it sounded good but just was too subdued for our needs. You could tell the car had an exhaust on it when you really stepped on it, but you really had to give it 75%+ throttle. Basically, the touring reminds me of the stock Harley exhaust. Our requirement was that the system had no drone, little kids could be comfortable with it as a daily school ride, and radio listening or having a conversation without the exhaust getting in the way. The S-type does that. It is there all the time, but not in an obnoxious way. When we step on it, you can hear it about a block away. When we engage the remote start you can hear the car roar to life, but when it idles down it just has a low rumble that is hard to hear indoors if the car is parked outside. The fun really comes with this exhaust when you toss the car in "M" or "S" mode at WOT. I have to agree, the exhaust definitely makes the car "come alive." We only drove our car about 300 miles with the stock exhaust and it would be a darn shame to leave it that way. Installation was very simple except that we have a ground effects kit that I had to hammer on it get the exhaust tips to fit. Unlike all the photos, our exhaust tips DO NOT stick out the rear of the car. They are flush with the chrome exhaust squares. BTW, the mounting for the darn chrome covers really suck and the plastic brackets are stripped from the factory. I had to safety wire oneside. Arg. After installation the car adjusted the fuel air mixture within 1 minute (also installed KN CAI Filter). Fit and finish was A+. I have installed many exhaust systems on bikes and this was top notch. ... show more

  • Great Sound - Easy Install
Installed on a Gen 5 Camaro 2SS with Kooks long tube headers and high flow cats. They were VERY easy to install. You just needed to remove a couple rubber hangers and a couple body plates on the under side and she fell apart. Make sure you dry fit the pieces before you tighten them down all the way so you can ensure proper clearance. The bands to hold everything together were great quality and the stainless of the material appeared to be great quality too. Only issue I had was the stickers used to mark left/right were horrible to get to come off. Left a lot of goo behind. The sound is incredible and the perfect mix of loudness and throatiness for my liking. My fuel economy went down because I like the sound she makes when I lay into her. Addition of the kit also added some additional pep to the car. ... show more

  • Louder and Deeper than Stock Louder and Deeper than Stock
After watching lots of YouTube videos, I finally decided to buy the Borla S-Type. I’ve read many comments saying that it was quiet and recommending the ATAK version. Oh boy, they are so wrong. The S-Type sounds way louder and deeper than the stock exhaust. Going with something more powerful would be super annoying. My Camaro now sounds like a true V8 muscle car. The biggest shock was learning how much the stock exhaust system weighs. The car will definitely run much lighter now. I also learned that the "S" stands for "Stinger." No better system to go with my Bumblebee Camaro. ... show more

  • AWESOME!
I received the exhaust in two days! I was a little worried that I would need to take the rear defuser off of the car to get the stock exhaust off but I DID NOT! The Borla type s cat back was really easy to install. It only took me around an hour from start to finish. After researching a lot on youtube, I was a little afraid it was going to be really loud but it is actually quiet. You can hardly hear it when the car is at a stop!!! If you drive gently it sounds one notch louder than stock but if you don't it sounds just like a 426 hp car should. Nice growl when it is paired with the k and n intake. The only thing about the kit is it does not come with new clamps for after the cats... It leaks a little but it is a quick $10.00 fix!....... I have had this for a wile and now I have Borla headers and it is a LOT louder. It produces about 420 rw. hp and sounds as fast as it is. ... show more

  • One of the best sounding exhausts out there....
For a vehicle with 426 horsepower, the stock exhaust on a new Chevy Camaro SS sounds completely underwhelming. To be honest, it doesn't even sound like a V-8 engine with the stock exhaust system. Enter the Borla S-Type Catback Exhaust System, which brings the sound of your 2010-2011 Camaro SS to life. It's quite a bit louder but not in an obnoxious way. It's not the kind of exhaust note that makes police drop their coffee and donuts and come screeching after you, but a nice controlled deep grumble. It sounds like what a vehicle with a V-8 should sound like. All Borla exhaust products feature durable high-quality austenitic stainless steel construction, patented "power when you want it, fuel economy when you need it" technology, mirror-polished tips and a Million-Mile Warranty. Definitely a product that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent sounding and looking after-market exhaust system. ... show more

  • Not obnoxiously loud!
If you're looking for "a few notches" louder than stock -- this is what you want. Significantly lighter than the stock exhaust. Also, more important if you drive a manual, it has the deceleration "pops" so it sounds old-school! I think it's for a different reason though: Once certain conditions are met (not pushing on gas, lettings engine slow itself down) the engine leans the gas out, helps out tremendously with mileage, but causes the "pops". You could tune it out, but why would you want to?! Most drone happens when load is on the engine ~1.8k-2.3k, ie. in 4th going up gentle hill; 6th going up hill around 70-80mph. After that, just sounds like a race car :) Only had a few friends tell me it would give them a headache. Few girls I've had in the car like the way it sounds! -LS3, M6. ... show more
