Miter saw was sitting on a table, not bolted down, not a good setup. So was in the market for a reasonably-priced miter saw stand with outriggers to support the wood being cut. The BORA universal miter saw stand is well-designed. The legs fold down into place and lock well. The mounting system for the saw is well-thought-out and easy to install. The outriggers are adequate from a usage perspective and can extend to a total of around 8 feet or so from side to side. The manual could use a bit better detail. It wasn't clear if the mounting platforms should be set on the stand first and then the saw mounted to it. As it turned out, it was way easier to attach the mounting arms to the saw and then attach the saw to the table. We didn't need them, but mounting adapters and the appropriate bolts are included in case your saw's mounting bolts aren't in a rectangular pattern, a nice touch. The finish seems to be applied well and the stand feels very sturdy. We don't intend to move it now that it is set up, but it seems very easy to remove the saw (by squeezing a couple of levers on the mounting arms) and fold up the legs into a small and light package for transport. Overall, the Bora stand is a nicely-made product at a very reasonable price relative to other products in the market.

I needed a stand for my 12" CS Miter saw. I am a homeowner/ DIYer so it isn't going to be getting use on a daily basis or on a job site. With that being said, I have been contemplating buying this stand for a few weeks now and when amazon dropped the price I pulled the trigger (under $65), for that price I didn't really expect much out of this stand. First impression was with the package, obviously. It came in its own packaging as amazon did not bother to place it in one of its own boxes, so I was a little worried when I was going to open it, as one side of the package was slightly open. To my surprise there was no damage and all the parts were present and intact. Unpacking the stand took a few seconds and the base and legs are already put together and just need to be opened and placed in the opened and locked position. This is done by a swinging the legs outward and by a self locking/retracting pin, very easy to do. (One other reviewer did mention that when closing the stand the legs have to be closed in the same order they are opened, good tip he said was label them which two go first). The directions given are the not best written but the rest of the pieces are pretty self explanatory to put together. It comes with the end extension bars which are not rollers just round lightweight aluminum. The only part that took a little extra time was mounting it to the support arms and locking it in place. It does come with bolts to mount the saw to the mounting arms and it gives a few set ups, each set up being a different bolt length. It also comes with small displacement mounting bars for saws that have unusual mounting holes, (mines didn't, but I did read that some people did use this feature). To adjust the supports arms outward or up and down it comes with plastic knobs that are screwed into the stand to loosen or tighten the support arms to adjust them according to each use. I don't know how long those will last as I dropped one on initial install, it was fine but I don't think it can take too many of those drops before it would break or crack. Once I had the saw mounted to the support arms, I moved the saw over to the stand and locked it in place and I have to say it was pretty tight and sturdy on there. I also have to mention the legs do have grommets on the bottom of the them that are made to level the stand and are pitched on an angle to add to the support of the legs/base. I will most likely leave the saw mounted on the stand as I have enough room in my garage to allocate for this, so it will not be getting that much movement unless I am working outside, but I don't think it will be a problem as the stand is relatively light weight and the saw can be transported as shown in the pictures with the mounting bars. I did get to use it this past weekend for a work bench I am building and the stand performed very well. I cut 2x4x8', 4x4x8' and 2x10x10', each cut I adjusted the supports to what I needed and they performed great. They did sag a little bit when fully extended but not to the point that it affected performance of the cut and also all you have to do is adjust the height of the end supports and problem solved. Height of the stand for me was right on (I am about 6' tall) and made each cut relatively easy. For me the stand performed well above my expectations. As others have stated if you need it for everyday use on a job-site or will give it very heavy use, I also do not think it will last that long. but if you're a homeowner or DIYer do not hesitate to pick this up you will not be disappointed. I will update my review later on to see how it lasts for the long haul or for the use I will need it for.

This miter saw stand is perfect and it arrived very quickly! I ordered it late Thursday night and it arrived on Saturday morning. The quality is quite good and setup is a cinch! Amazon and Affinity Tools must have been listening to customers because mine arrived packed in a second box (the actual Bora box was in perfect condition), there was plenty of protection inside the Bora box, and everything appears to be in good order. "Fit and finish" of the stand is very good - nothing crooked; nothing out of whack; no scratches, etc. Those reviewers who say this is difficult to set up probably shouldn't be using a miter saw because it couldn't be easier. It took me all of 3 minutes. There's really nothing difficult about this at all. You lift up the legs which snap in place securely, you add the extension racks, a few knobs, and then attach the saw mounts (which are spring loaded and attach quickly and easily). All you do next is attach your saw to the mounts. There's nothing more to it. It's sturdy and it's well made. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat this, and from what I see from the reviews, HTC (Affinity Tools) will take care of any problem you might have. If you're hesitating, don't. I'm very critical and very picky, and I can tell you, this is a darned good buy! UPDATE: I set up my 10” Hitachi saw using the extension plates, and then proceeded to cut a few hundred feet of pressure treated lumber for a deck I’m redoing. This stand was a pleasure to use and the height of the saw was perfect. Excellent stand!!

This is a clever, compact design of medium build quality and represents a very good value. Setup and take down is very quick and straight forward. The collapsed footprint is deceivingly small considering it's capacity, resulting in a light and portable saw stand. The erected height is ideal for miter saw work. It easily accommodates both my 10" and 12" Dewalt saws. Extension arms are adequate, but not exceptional and sag under the weight of 4x4 PT posts. For around 40 bucks, you can purchase a spare set of mounting brackets to use the stand with different tools. Unfortunately, I had to re-tap 3 of the threaded female fittings as they weren't machined cleanly coming out of the factory. Not a huge deal, but disappointing. Overall I'd buy it again, but make sure you complete the assembly before bringing it on site.

This is a very well made, solid work stand. Though it has no wheels, I found it exceptionally easy to break down and carry. The saw is permanently bolted to the separate steel cradle that has rubber feet that can be used on any surface, or which simply clamps onto the work stand at any place along the frame, as desired. Extention arms are easily adjustable for span and height and give good support. All heavy gauge steel components are nicely finished and powder coated. Since purchasing, I have used the stand during many hours of hardwood floor cutting with my DeWalt mitre saw. I am 6'2" and it provided perfect work height and comfortable work surface through the day. The stand even came with a mail-in credit for a free, very powerful and solid hand spring clamp that is very useful, which I use to secure longer hardwood flooring while making cuts! I'm very pleased with this work stand and the performance it provides, and at such reasonable price; far less than other units that are more cumbersome. Great product for the pro or DIY-er.

Before I bought this stand, I had my Hitachi C10FCE2 15-Amp 10-inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw clamped to a workmate table which was heavy and awkward to move around. This stand has made moving my saw around a breeze. The saw is mounted to the brackets (which can be used with or without the stand), and when the legs are folded the entire assembly of saw + stand is light enough to move just using the carry handle on the saw. Wheels would be nice (especially if I had a bigger saw), but at this price point one can hardly complain. If it becomes a problem, there is a wheel kit available: Portamate PM-4004 Wheel Kit The stand itself is very sturdy, especially for the price; I've had a very wet 16' pressure treated 4x6 on there with the supports fully extended, and once it was adjusted properly to support the wood there was no sagging or flimsy feeling to it. I did take a sharpie and make a mark to show the farthest I could pull out the supports and still clamp down on them with the locking knob, but if they do pull out by mistake there's no harm done, just stick them back in again. Edit: 5 years later… I still have this stand and still recommend it to anyone who wants to get their miter saw up off the floor. It has held up very well and helped me to build many projects including replacing about 500 square feet of deck boards, building a 12x16 office in my back yard, raised garden beds, a wheelchair ramp for my MIL, and many more. Edit #2: 9 years later... The miter stand is still going strong. I don't use my miter saw very often when I'm working in my shop, so the stand usually stays folded up and hung on the wall, but when I do need it, it's there and working just as well as the day I bought it. Still my favorite when I have to do some cutting away from my shop.

Hard to complain for the price... if you need a semi-mobile miter base. I am using it with the Hitachi C12RSH2 12" sliding 60ish pound miter saw and it seems reasonable stable on even ground for cutting softer wood...not sure if I saw that 12" model listed in questions here when i bought it. The position of the hand tension spring in the middle of the slide track and the oversized holes did cause some issues...I am guessing the holes are wide to accommodate inserting the head of the carriage bolts from the top universally for some saws?...although other than where the spring sits along the track... the carriage bolts can be inserted easily from the bottom without the large holes... The holes prevented mounting this particular miter saw all the way back by maybe 2-3 inches because the holes lined up where the head of the carriage bolt would have been tightened down...small issues in this case...nothing that prevents using this base with this saw When assembling the stand for the first time...to cut ~12inch wide boards on the Hitachi sliding 12 " miter... the hand mechanism on each of the 2 attach points...that act as the miter saw base and main bars to clamp to the stand...has to be on same side as the rear of the saw...and the saw needs to be back almost as deep as possible on the base track...if the hand clamp mechanism is on the front... the bolts won't slide past the spring in the center of the track... to go far enough back using the project steady bars that extend out on each side and line up to fully support cutting the wider boards... The 2 wheels listed as PM 4004 for around $22... several people noted already about the snap lock mechanism unlocking on each load leg ....the whole stand with a heavy saw when making turns will twist and collapse...the feet are ~26" apart deep x ~53.5" apart across when standing and set up...I would tend to agree this wasn't made to be wheeled with the saw attached... and would not be safe...for any portable stand ...its too much weight to support at an angle... For safety sake a large saw needs a much sturdier base with 4 solid steel plated swivels and several inch high urethane locking wheels...which of course isn't very portable or as "affordable" as this is at $80

I've been looking for a cheap, sturdy, no frills miter saw stand for a month or so. I finally pulled the trigger on this Bora after I got tired of my DeWalt DW-780 miter saw sitting on the floor all the time. I can now store my shop vac and some other stuff underneath this and reclaim a little space. Overall, after unboxing and minor assembly, the quality of this seems above-average for what I would expect at this price point. Okay, so I would have liked wheels, but I'd rather decent quality and pay less and add my own wheels later, so this suits me well. Small niggles - the paint is reasonably thin, and once you install your saw, tightening the screws down will probably scrape through the paint. I also imagine it will chip off with time if moved frequently. However, the general sturdiness and function is decent, so I'm not going to complain. Also, one of the support arms doesn't quite fit into the main rail it is stored in. I'm fairly sure if I get a rasp and file the swarf or solder spatter off the inside of the tube, it will slide in like the first one did. Also, before installing the saw, the legs weren't quite all flat on the floor. With the weight of the saw on top of this all evened out. I may yet make some screw-out leveling leveling feet to fit inside the tube legs, but that's a project for another day. Things I like: - Price - Sturdines - the way the legs swing out for a larger footprint when down, yet come back up in line with the thinner saw mounting rails. - The support arms are almost un-noticeable once stowed yet give you a good six-ish extra feet of wingspan to support whatever you are cutting. Really useful when working on your own - The mounting hardware includes three different lengths of bolts to accommodate different thicknesses of miter saw bed. - Instructions are clear, and printed in well written English. With pictures. The first time I fitted the saw to the mounting rails, I mounted the saw too far forward, and had to loosen all the bolts and slide it backwards. There is some tomfoolery involved in getting the bolts clear of the clips and handles underneath. Or least, there is when you use the upside down. I didn't cotton onto the square shoulder underneath the head to begin with. It was only after my second fitting of the saw, I looked at the instructions and realized they needed to be the other way up such that the square shoulder lined up with the square cutout in the mounting rails. *Sigh*. Having written this review, I can now go and remove them all, and reinstall them the correct way up. If I'd done it the right way the first time I also wouldn't have needed to cut one down with the grinder. Hopefully this will save someone else from making the same mistake! Overall, I think this is a good buy for the price. Maybe when I get a proper shop I will graduate to a fancier setup with built in dust collection, but for my current apartment setup, this will suffice.
