  • excellent value
Style: Item Stand
I'm a homeowner who recently bought a sliding compound miter saw to do some baseboard replacement. I first clamped my new saw to the top of my ancient B & D Workmate. That worked OK, but... ...then I bought this stand, and it's made the job much easier. The PM-4000 is rock solid, the extensions to support the lumber are simple but work fine, and it's great that the miter saw (once you bolt it to the brackets) can mount to the rails or be detached in just a few seconds. Assembling the stand was next to nothing; the only fiddly business was bolting the saw to the mounting brackets, and that really wasn't much to do. When the day is done, I take the saw off, and fold the stand for storage in my tool shed. I guess this stand might not be the best choice for a professional carpenter, but for a DIY guy like me it's great. IMHO/IME it's excellent value for the money. ... show more

  • I wish I had bought this sooner - perfect for my miter saw!
Style: Item Stand
One day I plan to build a really cool rolling workbench that will have my miter saw, table saw, and a router station all included. But in the meantime, this portable miter saw stand works great. I love how wide the support arms go, and the setup and tear down is very quick and easy. The biggest issue was connecting the brackets to the base of the miter saw, but there was a lot of adjustment, so it fit perfectly. The stand and saw combination is very stable for cutting lots of different kinds of material. The stand folds down to an easily portable size that will easily fit in the trunk of a car. You might struggle more fitting your table saw in the car than this stand! I have been super pleased with it and use it a lot - highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent product and great value!!
Style: Item Stand
This miter saw stand is perfect and it arrived very quickly! I ordered it late Thursday night and it arrived on Saturday morning. The quality is quite good and setup is a cinch! Amazon and Affinity Tools must have been listening to customers because mine arrived packed in a second box (the actual Bora box was in perfect condition), there was plenty of protection inside the Bora box, and everything appears to be in good order. "Fit and finish" of the stand is very good - nothing crooked; nothing out of whack; no scratches, etc. Those reviewers who say this is difficult to set up probably shouldn't be using a miter saw because it couldn't be easier. It took me all of 3 minutes. There's really nothing difficult about this at all. You lift up the legs which snap in place securely, you add the extension racks, a few knobs, and then attach the saw mounts (which are spring loaded and attach quickly and easily). All you do next is attach your saw to the mounts. There's nothing more to it. It's sturdy and it's well made. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat this, and from what I see from the reviews, HTC (Affinity Tools) will take care of any problem you might have. If you're hesitating, don't. I'm very critical and very picky, and I can tell you, this is a darned good buy! UPDATE: I set up my 10” Hitachi saw using the extension plates, and then proceeded to cut a few hundred feet of pressure treated lumber for a deck I’m redoing. This stand was a pleasure to use and the height of the saw was perfect. Excellent stand!! ... show more

  • Good value, easy to fold up and move
Style: Item Stand
I bought this stand for use with a Porter Cable 12" compound miter saw; model 3802. This PortaMate stand supports the large, heavy saw very well. Even outdoors on sloping ground simply leveling the stand as needed, such as with a 2x4 under the legs on the low side, will achieve adequate stability. The saw mounting brackets included allow for quick setup and quick breakdown once attached with the bolts provided, and they fit my saw with no problem. I've been using the stand on a project where I am enclosing 2 acres with solid top rail fencing over varied terrain. As you can imagine I have to constantly move the cutting station as I work my way along the perimeter which is approx. 2,000 ft., hauling the stand, saw, gas generator, and other necessary tools in the back of a pickup. This new stand makes the job much easier, replacing two sets of saw horses and related boards, etc. to support the saw. Hauling all this around for fencing may seem like a lot of trouble, but I am kind of a perfectionist and the big 12" miter saw is perfect for making precise end cuts on the 4" round rails to fit between the posts. (Yes, I average the top rail slope over the span of several posts to smooth out the appearance.) The support arms which slide out on each side are about adequate to support the weight of an 8 ft. 2x4 or 2x6, depending how wet the board is, nothing more. My fence rails are much heavier, so I am using roller stands. In the final assessment I would definitely recommend this product. It is sturdy, very portable, easy to setup, made in USA, and well worth the price. Just be prepared to use roller stands with heavier material. ... show more

  • Good quality, can't beat the price
Style: Item Stand
Really works great. It's not like some marvel where you can set up and collapse it with one finger, but it's also not $300. It seems to be welded properly and the build is square/level. Paint coating is also well done. Quick-release clamps work amazingly well. Definitely detach any saw or tool when storing, and hang up the stand separately. Very simple and versatile - I mounted a vise on a small piece of particle board and use some speed clamps to hold it to the stand - worked great. I wish that additional sets of clamp rails were not so expensive by comparison, or maybe they could offer a kit that came with 2 sets at a better package price. I may just order a 2nd stand instead, and use the extra stand as a foldable sawhorse. The thing really is sturdy. ... show more
