  • Boomwhackers tuned percussion tubes are brightly colored plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes

Description

They're wild! They're whacky! They're wonderful! They're your ticket to non-stop fun! Boomwhackers tuned percussion tubes are brightly colored plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes. They are affordably priced, easy to play and lots of fun! Everyone can play them - and pro musicians think they're a blast! Whack just about anything and - Boom! Play them together with other instruments! Jam together! Share the fun! Create games! Get whacky! Embraced by kids, music educators, music therapists, professional musicians, and group facilitators, they're the most fun you can have making music!. Review Each person holds one or two of these eight perfectly-tuned percussion tubes and whacks them against his or her arm, thigh, or any hard surface to produce the sound. The gradations in length of the tubes help players arrange themselves in sequential notes and to understand the relationship between length and pitch; similarly, the color gradations provide an additional way to visualize the sequence of notes and an understanding of the spectrum. Art and music converge, and groups that cooperate well can make beautiful music together. Tubes are 12" to 24" long. A 1999 Parents' Choice® Gold Award.Reviewed by Ruth B. • Great for teaching music to kids
I've hd for a few years to play around with friends, recently gave it to my inlaw who is a music teacher for children. He uses it all the time

  • The little preschoolers I purchased these for love playing with them
The little preschoolers I purchased these for love playing with them! They are nice and small, so they are easy for them to manipulate. These are solid tubes, however I think I was expecting them to have a little more give than they do. I've played with Boom Whackers before, but they were longer and resonated a little more than these do. Not sure which brand they must have been. My biggest suggestion would be to add a carrying case for them, as there is nothing to keep them stored in and I am going to have to make my own carrying bag to transport and store them. Overall very enjoyable little music makers! ... show more

  • If you like being creative and are slightly musically inclined
If you are a musician, it is mandatory that you own a set of these. If you like being creative and are slightly musically inclined, you owe it to yourself to get some. It is a shame that I never had these before now, because they are not only intensely fun, but a great tool for teaching music to kids and adults alike. These should undoubtedly be a part of all philharmonic orchestras. I mean, could you imagine playing the 1812 orchestra with a orchestra full of these?? I LOVE THESE. LOOOOOOOOOOVE. Like one of the best things I've bought in years kind of love. ... show more

  • Fun for all Ages
These aren't just for kids, I enjoy playing with them as an adult. The basic diatonic set is kind of limiting on its own, but in conjunction with either the base or higher treble set, it becomes pretty easy to making fun harmonic AND melodic music with them. These are great for getting people who have no musical experience to play along with people who have a rough idea of what they're doing. They're very easy to pick up and start having fun with. ... show more

  • well tuned very colorful
I always wanted to have this boomwhackers as a fun tool for my music classes I like their colors and sounds nicely tuned but they sound too low... I thought they would listen louder

  • exactly what I needed
As a Suzuki piano teacher, I work with small children. Even though they're young, their repertoire is quite extensive. I wanted to have a set of low Boomwhackers so we could play the songs that need more than one octave, but the tubes in the bass set were MUCH too long for a 4- or 5 year old to use successfully. So I simply bought another set of C Major Diatonic tubes and put the Octavator caps on them. My students love them and are genuinely thrilled to be able to play all the songs in Book One on the Boomwhackers (I got the treble extension pack as well quite a while ago). ... show more

  • Ageless toy
We have had a set of Boomwhackers in our home since our first grandchildren began visiting. They are now 11 and 9 years of age and still enjoy picking up the tubes for whacking out both their planned and improvised beats. When our third grandchild began to sit up, he found the tubes as fascinating as did his cousins, and so we purchased this set as a Christmas gift so that he can enjoy them at his home. My guess is that we will soon be purchasing another set so that our even younger twin granddaughters will also be able share the beat. Honestly, my wife and I equally enjoy sitting with them on the floor to expand the band. ... show more
