This was a good buy as my toddler had outgrew the infant nasal aspirator and needed more suction to get the snot out. It works very well. Easy to clean and I like that I’m able to take apart the bulb to clean it verses the traditional way of just slacking it in hot water and hoping that you’re able to squeeze out the reside in there. I purchased this as a turkey baster, sure it melts a little, and gets scorching hot in your hand, but the ability to clean it thoroughly after use, is worth the 3rd degree burns from hot turkey broth leaking out the sides. So we have triplets and when they first go sick our bulb syringe provided by the hospital broke. We couldn't find one like the hospital so we ended up trying every bulb syringe we could find - nothing worked, I mean nothing! No suction in so many of the products out there - regardless of size or brand. Then we came across is one and wow it WORKS and works like a MIRACLE! The amazing thing about this one is you can open it, clean it and still has the same suction when you put it back together. Easy to open, easy to put back together. We use a nipple bottle brush to clean (or get the cleaning kit) with soapy water...recommend keeping the brush in the bag with the bulb so not to use it on anything else. Is a larger bulb so the suction is great - may be too large for a newborn. They do sell smaller ones. We have had this one for five months. Although we have been lucky and haven't gotten sick too often I like to do this every few days or when their nose seems crusty. Get some saline solutions and clear noses in no time! We do also have a nose frida which is great for big jobs (lots of runny snot) and when you have two adults so they don't whack or pull on the cord. What I like better about this product is there are less moving parts for a similar suction - easier to use - easier to clean. This product greatly exceeded our expectations! I have to use this thing twice a day due to sinus issues. For years I used normal bulbs but now that I use this product, I'll never use anything else. The ability to open it up and clean it thoroughly and let it air dry inside gives me way more confidence that I'm not introducing any weird pathogens up my shnozz. Suction is just fine, just be careful when squeezing it as a lot will come out all at once if you're not gentle. I really think you'd be crazy not to go with this option vs a sealed bulb. ... show more

This nose sucker, as we call it, is amazing! I was so worried that it was not going to get anything out like all of the Rinky-dink ones that you buy at the big box stores. It is just as effectiveness, and the same size, as the large green "nose sucker" you get from the hospital except for it is washable. I had no idea what was left inside the non-washable ones until ours busted at the seam. Talk about disgusting black junk and I rinsed it out on a regular basis! I am so thankful for this and like others mentioned in reviews you must put a finger on each side of the nozzle, your thumb on the bottom circle, push up with your thumb and release to withdrawal properly. Otherwise, it will pop open. I hope it works just as well for you as it does for us. It is a life saver and so much more sanitary! By the way for a family science experiment go ahead and cut your non-washable one open after you start using this one! Yuck! ... show more

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for to use on my 3 year old. When you buy these bulb's in the stores, they're always sized for infants, so on a 3 year old, I just couldn't get enough suction from them. This 3 oz bulb works PERFECTLY. And my odd little girl LOVES it. She asks me to use the "sucker to get her slime out". Bonus that it comes apart for cleaning. Another bonus that it works great on my adult nose too.... My only advise is that you should definitely read the directions on making the product work. Because it comes apart, you don't squeeze it from the sides, because if you do, it won't work. You have to instead push up from the bottom with your thumb. The product comes with a picture image showing how to properly use the bulb. ... show more

This thing was a life saver. I get this for new moms now. I don't care if it's not on their list. It's one of those things that you never knew you had to have. This thing pulls out snot like a champ. A bit of advice on squeezing this one. You can't squeeze along the seems or it will pop open. Put the pointed end between your pointer and middle fingers and put your thumb on top of the bulb. Then squeeze the two bottom finger together to the thumb. This thing will remove serious boogers and snot. And as long as it's cleaned and dried regularly it will not smell like those disgusting enclosed ones. I have bought three for myself because I keep loosing mine. Also we bought this size at six months old and use it now and he is almost three. It might be a little big for a very small infant, but works great for most babies and kids. ... show more

Previous bulb was completely nasty and started to mold near the tip because there's just no way to clean the inside of the entire bulb. Decided to give this a try since you can take it apart and clean it thoroughly. Because you squeeze it from the bottom instead of the sides and there's a gap between the two halves I was skeptical the suction was not going to be strong enough. However, it works really well and you can clean it easily. The construction appears to be quite durable and should last.
