I got these extra large clipboards for my 6 year old to use for her artwork. She is quite prolific and works all around the house, and while she is surprisingly good at keeping her paints and markers on the paper, these boards give me peace of mind and allow her to work in even more places. They are easy to use and very thin and lightweight, I do wish that one of the clipboards had the clip attachment at the short end, just for variety, but it is very utilitarian the way it is. This is so simple, Why did I think of it before?? I think I kind of expected that turning the clipboard sideways would make it Shorter so so my standard sized paperwood hang off but it does not. I love the extra room it gives me for my hand holding a pen or even at times for my elbow in exasperation. It came with plastic corner covers to protect it which were only semi effective but I love that it is a two pack. I will never use any other one but this! ... show more

I mean they did try to keep it safe they both came in bubble wrap and had plastic on the corners but it didnt help one of the boards. They arent the thickest but its a firm enough surface for me until I get a metal one

We love the fact these are so big. We hung one on the wall as a mini-bulletin board. Using the other one allows us to have two standard sheets of paper side by side. Makes some things easier. These are pretty decent extra large sized clipboards and great for your kiddos who love to draw while on the go. Our daughter uses them in the car, outside, and just sitting around the house. The clip holds the paper well enough and it's very lightweight for it's size. However, the edges get torn up VERY easily (under normal use) and 1 had a nickel sized place scratched/torn into it just from shipping. I'm not sure what the material is but I think it's just pressed cardboard (just assuming based on the look of the damage around the edges). I like that these are horizontal instead of vertical. I tend to use regular clipboards sideways and this actually helps show more of the paper since the standard ones cover the top of the paper and get in the way of writing. The larger size also help to have more room for your hand and fits larger paper sizes too. I would suggest adding clear nail polish or clue around the edges...they seem a bit unfinished and have some wear and tear over use.
