  • Quality system.
Size: 150 lbs.
Great system - I bought it based on its reviews and it is quality, free moving easy to use - Love it. Now to assemble it put aside a couple of long days. No surprise here all reviews say that. I am handy at many things so to interpret the instructions and put it together (by myself) it takes awhile. I but the leg press addition and it referred to parts in inches and the parts were labeled in metric sizes. Also no instructions on how to adjust cable tension but I have experienced. May be hard for a newbie to figure out. The machine is smooth! Easy to use. Arms that attached to the side do get in the way with the leg press but I'll live with it. I recommend a buy if you truly want the home gym. And buy the leg press and 50 lb extra weight kit. Oh Yeah, had to swap a smaller pulley and larger pulley location. Large pulley wouldn't fit where they said one of them should go. I believe the instruction was wrong on this. No biggie -MFG should clean up instructions a bit but this is a great product if you can afford it. ... show more

  • Overall I'm very happy with this purchase
Size: 150 lbs.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. Yes this gym is fairly involved to assemble, but if you take your time it's not that hard. I was able to open the boxes and carry the large frame parts to my second story loft. I assembled it myself following the directions in 5 approx. 1-2 hour sessions. If you have the right tools and have reasonable mechanical aptitude you can do this. If not get help of course. The gym works as expected, although like others I did notice the "function training arm" does encroach on the leg press. I could work around it ok (5' 8", 180 lbs) but larger people may have trouble with it. I experienced two minor problems. 1) The chromed metal pipes that the foam (leg) rollers slide onto had burrs on the inside diameters at the ends. Tapping in the plastic end-caps caused them to bind up tight and two broke. Body solid promptly sent me two more end-caps. I reamed and smoothed the burrs out, and slightly reduced the end-cap insert diameters, and they went in fine. 2) I have the gym sitting on short berber carpet instead of a hard flat surface. A 110mm pulley for the lower cable (item C4) rubbed on the carpet and added resistance when using the low cable. Body Solid promptly sent me a new pulley, but unfortunately another 110mm instead of the 90mm I requested. Not to worry, I simply looked over the pulleys and found that I could swap the C4 110mm pulley with a 90mm pulley (item A9). The 110mm pulley in the A9 location worked just fine, and the 90mm pulley in the C4 spot cleared the carpet. Every station functions well, due to a very solid frame and well engineered design. ... show more

  • Works well
Size: 210 lbs.
A bit of a challenge to assemble but if you pay close attention to the bolt sizes, you won't have issues.

  • Awesome equipment
Size: 150 lbs.
The equipment is very nicely built. Heavy duty enough for ANYONE'S home gym. Assembly took me 10 hours. I'm an engineer and pretty handy with tools. The instruction book included an addendum of corrections. Even with that, there were a couple of places where the instructions said to use a certain part number of bolt and there were none left of that number. There were other part numbers that were never requested. I was able to look at the sizes and match up the "extra" part numbers to the depleted part numbers and get the thing assembled without too much frustration. The leg press is sold, packaged, and shipped as a separate item so the installation instructions basically have you assemble the main frame first then disconnect some of it to add the leg press. I tried working setting up the leg press in parallel so I wouldn't have to undo work that was completed, but in the end was not able to save any time this way. I was expecting the 160# weight stack but it arrived with the full 210# so don't go buying the extra weights until you see what arrives. Total shipment weight of the equipment was just over 600# - have some help handy. The heaviest box weighed about 150# and was way too bulky to handle safely by yourself. Once assembled I was very impressed with the quality of the equipment. This is as nice as the stuff I had access to in college. The only down side is the absolute and complete lack of any instructions for how to USE the equipment. The leg extension, leg press and chest press pieces are pretty obvious. In addition there are several (four?) rings where you can attach any one of several different types of handles/grips. I believe the manufacturer should provide a booklet showing the typical exercises that isolate particular muscle groups by attaching which handles/grips to which attach points and how to use them effectively. I was unable to find anything from the vendor and so far have found nothing from other third parties. Maybe I'll write one! If you have a basic understanding of how to use weight machines I believe you will be pleased with this purchase. ... show more
