I got one of these in college, and was saddened when I dropped it from quite a ways up and the lid broke. It had lasted me for years. I bit the bullet and spent $30 to get another one. It's my baby. I use it every day. It's easy to clean, keeps my coffee warm for HOURS, and fits in my cup holder. There are a couple of things to be aware of that aren't big enough issues for me to detract any stars. It leaks a little tiny bit, so I try to keep it upright. It's definitely not enough to render the product useless. I think the idea is that they can't make it completely leak-proof without risking steam buildup, which would cause small explosions and be a mess. Unless you cross treacherous terrain each day, it is fine. Another thing to be aware of is that the rubber sleeve might need to be taken off and cleaned occasionally - it can accumulate gunk if you don't keep it clean and dry. I suppose if you were a more careful person than me you could just avoid getting the outside wet; you only really need to rinse it out with water. It's stainless steel so it doesn't require a whole lot more maintenance than that.

I love this mug -- it makes me look classy when I carry it to work. I've had this one in black, but for some reason, the stainless steel inside the mug started staining and looking really bad. I trashed it, and months later, decided I really need one. So, when I received this one, I immediately noticed that the slight texture of the inside walls is a bit different than the previous mug. Because of that texture (you can hardly notice it if you're not the type who notices 1 bad pixel on a 50-in. tv screen), it seems less likely to stain. I've had it for over a month now, and it still looks like new. There may be some coffee stains stuck at the top, where you screw the lid on, but that's easy to wash off. As for the temperature of the drink -- I don't expect it to keep hot for 4 hours. I just put coffee and steamed milk in the morning, and drink it during my 1.5 hour commute. It's still warm after an hour -- that's all I ask for in a travel mug.

So far I've been quite happy with this mug. I used to be a loyal user of Nissan mugs (good insulation), though the rubber interior seal was a challenge to clean. I then tried the Thermos Travel Tumbler, though the lid on it often resulted in me spilling coffee down my frontside (lid design was a good idea, though the execution made drinking difficult and had poor modulation of flow). So... when I found this mug I was quite excited as it had good insulating properties along with a simple lid, and was all stainless steel (no plastic inside). So far I've been quite happy - it keeps coffee warm on my way to work, the lid is simple, easy to clean, and generally allows easy drinking of coffee. It has a nice wide stable base, and the wide mouth of the mug makes for a stable base if you use a ceramic cone coffee maker and make coffee directly in to you mug.

Once you get your beverage to the right temperature, it will stay there for an hour or so. This makes it great if you want to nurse a coffee or tea for a while or on a long drive. It is pretty leak proof when you put the lid on right, but not perfectly, and getting the lid on just right can be the tiniest bit tricky, but not a big deal. Once it's closed, just don't shake it around and you'll be fine. I swear by this travel mug. Whenever I sadly lose one, I just go and buy another immediately.

This is the BEST travel mug I have ever had!! I use this mug (I also have a black one that is used a lot, too) primarily for cold herbal tea daily. It keeps my tea cold for hours. I was happily surprised that ice cubes don't totally melt over night! In my quest for a water bottle that keeps liquids cold, I have collected close to 20 bottles of all kinds and sizes. Nothing beats the Bodum Insulated Stainless-Steel Vacuum Travel Mug!! On occasion I put hot coffee in it and it stays hot for hours - not quite as long as it keeps tea cold. My Bodum travel mug goes everywhere with me and I do not use any other! I HIGHLY recommend the Bodum Insulated Stainless-Steel Vacuum Travel Mug - it is the best I have ever had and I can't say enough good about it. It's simply a wonderful travel mug!!

I had this mug for several years, and about a year ago, I lost it. I've spent the last year trying any mug I could find and all other suck. This mug can take a beating. I know because I drop crap all the time. It survived several trips off the top of my car. True, it's not leak proof, but it's damned near close. I carry my mug pressed between my arm and my body when I'm leaving the house (I know it's stupid, but I never learn!), so I've had lots of coffee down the front of me, but never with this bad boy. The only way to make it more spill resistant would be to put one of those stupid, pop-up tops on it that are impossible to clean or that break. This is a solid, simple machine that keeps your coffee hot. It's worth the price because it'll be the last coffee mug you ever buy! Unless you lose it.

I purchased this mug in dec 2010. Two years later and it still is the best mug I ever had. I have coffee five days a week, the mug does not stain or keep an odor, I do wash it everyday I use it. My mom has gone through three different mugs in the past two years, so I decided to get her a Bodum (only there's a waiting list). Back to the mug-I prepare my coffee at 6am, at 9am it is still warm (slow drinker). I also drink soda with ice, finish the soda and 8 hours later the ice is still intact. Treat it like a cup of coffee because it does leak but no biggie.
