  • Can't tell when it is on or off.
Preliminary 2 star. Still inspecting. I really want this to be better since it is only $20. Still holding hope. There is no indicator light when it is on. That can be set in the file, so I will see if that is an issue. But there is more. To power off, hold power button for 3 seconds. To power on, hold power button for 3 seconds. To know it is on, look for blue and red light. To know it is on, watch it blink red. Sound easy? Well, I held the button down and saw a blue and red light, so on. I held the button down again, and saw a blue and red light again. Then I held the button down again and saw a red light come on and go off. Then I held the button down again, and saw a red light come on and off. Maybe what matters is the light and not what preceded it. So I have to hook it up to the computer each time and look for video to see what worked. So far, I've discovered it was not on when I thought it was. Next, I walked towards it from a distance, pacing my steps. It says 1080p, which I used on a 1600x900 screen. I could not recognize my own face until I was 20 feet away. I will try the 720p. In its defense, the view was not on axis. That was 45 degrees off axis. Most optics are worse off axis, especially inexpensive ones. I will try it on axis for more fairness. I should be able to do several angles in 1 video. Only testing the motion detection takes time. I hope I can update this to more stars. It is a camera though and does work. I've not tested the battery length yet. It claims 8 hours for the battery without IR and without MD, and says memory depends on what size you put in, but you won't go through 64gb before the battery runs out. ... Well, now none of my USB ports are recognizing it. No lights, except blue and red when I press power. No blinking red when hooked up to USB. ... I can't access the file. Maybe I accidentally deleted the LED setting in text. I will try this again later once it has charged more. I really want this to work. I also hope the 20 foot facial recognition is lens rather than sensor caused, since I don't mind replacing lenses. ... I tried different USB ports, verified they worked with another camera, tried swapping micro SD cards, tried fully charging it, and also formatted it again since me computer keeps saying it needs formatting again. Also added LED back into the text file. Regardless, it is no longer recording video. It worked for a few times the day before the texts, and then nothing. I also think it is fixed focus, or not facial recognition. Focus is sharpest up close, and then out of focus by 20 feet. I was not able to test the motion detection before it stopped working, or had a failed instance I could not investigate before. The indicator lights up on power, and then shuts off right afterward. Classic dead battery sign, except I charged it on the wall for a few hours. For the price and long battery life, I would really like this to work. I might try customer service, but they will likely ask me to send it in for repair. Returning to Amazon seems easier. The question is then whether to buy another of this or another brand or another of this brand. ... I emailed the customer support and got no answer. It has been a week maybe. But the directions are very clear. The camera worked when I first got it but then stopped after a few short test videos, meaning the indicator lights no longer worked more than 1 second, and my computer could not see the device any more even though it sees other cameras. On paper, this is a great camera at a great price. I hope we are getting brand new ones and not other people's returns. The box I got looked new and sealed. If you need an extra charging cable, this camera does not cost much more than one, so you don't lose much if it does not work. I'm thinking about rolling the dice again. If neither works, I can return both in the same box maybe. I could pay more for a different camera, what if they fail too? My biggest complaint about cameras in this price range is they don't say how much battery juice is left, and likely are wrong if they indicate 100%. ... show more

  • Product didn't work
I bought the two pack of these cameras, and neither worked. I followed all set instructions and even emailed the seller, and got no response. Packaging was fine and they were in good condition, but neither worked.

  • How does it work?
Camera does not seem to respond. Instructions are very vague. Cannot find any video instructions on Youtube. Will need to return to Amazon. Big waste of my time.
