I have a 26 foot tritoon that is notorious for pulling anchors, especially when the Bimini top is deployed and there’s a little wind. It’s extremely stressful and frustrating to drift into other boats at the local sandbar. So I researched for hours and landed on this anchor which we’ve nicknamed the bear trap. It is very heavy and somewhat difficult to open/engage the lock but folds flat nicely under my bow seats. Once deployed, this thing doesn’t budge! Even with some wind and wave action, this anchor holds firm and hasn’t dragged on me once. Totally worth the price for the piece of mind it provides. Minus one star as I had to debur the entire anchor with my dremel to remove tiny bits of weld slag which were quite sharp. Fortunately, the surface sanding doesn’t appear to have affected the corrosion resistance as it’s still rust-free after a dozen uses. ... show more

First off the folding design and anchor hold is excellent. Weight is heavier than a comparable fluke anchor but not by more than a few pounds. The hold is way better though. Only complaint is the spring tension on the lock is pretty strong. My wife can’t do it and sometimes I have trouble. May be adjustable but hasn’t been enough of an issue to take the time to work on it. Will bring up some dirt and rock from mud bottoms. ... show more
