  • It's great! Though I think it needs a bit more tweeking to get it perfect!
Weight: 8.5 Pounds Size: 34"
So here are the things you should probably know about this longboard. I've had it for quite a while, three or four months, before actually making my review. First and foremost, the board is rather thin, if you're planning to do like serious hills and stuff, I wouldn't suggest it. (There's a reason why a pricey longboard is like twice as thick as this longboard.) With that out of the way let me talk about other things. Next up, do not jump on this longboard, I'm about 145 pounds, with clothes maybe that makes me like 147 ish. (With my college backpack, maybe another 10-15 pounds?) If I jump on this longboard without the bag, the bottom of the hinges will scrape on the ground. And I don't mean like I'm jumping on it like some kind of trampoline. Just a hippie jump. At some points I've just kind of bounced on it, and I've scraped the hinges. That kinda thing if you're going at a good speed is gonna throw you off the board (Honestly though it sounds like a grave danger, it's not. You have to try to make it scrape in order for it to scrape). And finally, the last thing kinda worth mentioning might be that the squishy black part in the middle seems to kinda come off over time. I would love if Board up sold those pieces separately, cause if you play with them a bit they're gonna come off. If someone loses them, (Probably me) that's going to make me have to buy another board up longboard... Just for that part. That should cover all the grim stuff about it! You, reader, must be sitting here like Oh Jeez, why does this have four stars then? Welp allow me to explain! The stock parts that come with this longboard, are not bad. Like sure, you can get always get better bearings, but they weren't bad either. From the point of view of a longboarder that skates every few days, it's good enough. I actually kinda liked them. Second this board is nice as a cruiser. I mean because of the cushions in the center, it makes riding smooth. (Or smoother than other longboards I've had.) And the wheels are soft to boot. And of course trucks are fine, no problem there. The folding action is totally cool... However don't listen to the instruction manual when it says, to open the longboard, Twirl the board in air, and then drop it... Yeah... I've attempted that a few times, it landed upside down for the most part. It's much easier to just open it without being stylish. If you have a slightly bigger than average backpack this longboard will fit in it. Don't expect to put much else in there. But it'll go in there. In fact I actually just carry a kinda large shopping bag, almost like one of the ones you can buy from a super market, and it fits well! One of the worries maybe, has this board ever folded on me as I skated. Nope! In fact I don't think that's possible, the board folds up the other way around, so essentially, the board would have to push you upward if it tried to close on you. Admittedly this longboard replaced my Globe Longboard. It's just much easier to carry around. I've had quite a few people that ask where did I get it from, or say that it's awesome! That's always a major plus XDD. Now this is a message towards the BoardUp people. I think your board is really great! I love it! I really do! But I wish you gave people a little bit more access to customizing it. I understand that the trucks can't be customized. But maybe there's a way you can do custom decks. Like maybe you can make some kind of agreement with one of those online custom longboard companies, to make decks that people actually want... (No offense. I hate the art on the deck at the moment.) Second, it might help to do like custom Griptape, I think it was on the APEX diamondDrop that you can get like different kinds of Griptape. That would be a great addition to customizing it. Of course custom wheel colors would be cool. I think you would hit a bigger audience if you change the deck to more of a dropdown/drop through look. It looks cooler, and it's more stable or so I've read. I would imagine if you do this, you might need to adjust the hinges in the center, or raise the longboard truck's height. If it's not too much to ask, you might do well selling a separate longboard that has a thicker deck. As it would probably appeal to more down hill longboarders. I think that raps it up for me! Thanks for the great longboard! I love it, and honestly I don't think I even want another longboard. ... show more

  • You’ll enjoy it
Weight: 8.5 Pounds Size: 34"
I used to ride a sole skate from high school to now in college. Thought it was about time I upgraded to something with significantly more stability without sacrificing portability of my sole skate. And this product is a perfect for that demand. I do have one complaint though -I wish the handle was sanded more smoothly or just replaced with a plastic grip as it can be uncomfortable at times to carry at times Other than that, this board will serve you well should you invest into it and the on board bearings are decent enough once you break them in. Also, it’s a great conversation starter when someone sees you closing it or carrying it. ... show more

  • Version 2 is amazing, the company never stops improving
Weight: 8.5 Pounds Size: 34"
This is my second time getting a board from BoardUp and I am probably even more excited about this than I was the first time. I purchased my first one last year around January as my first skateboard ever. It already served me incredibly well and I made so many good memories with the board. Sadly it ended up breaking due to the metal plate in the middle cracking so I had to stop using it. Flash forward a year of me putting off trying to repair the board and I decided to get a new one since I know what not to do. Just finished unboxing it and coming from my first test ride and I was extremely happy to find out that in the past year the company has made numerous changes and improvements to the design and mechanics of the board. It's now sturdier, has a better support plate to keep the board together and handles much better due to being longer. The board is much easier to use out of the box now for all boarders and once again I'm extremely happy with my purchase! Definitely worth the money and a fantastic purchase for yourself as a good commuter board or for someone else as a gift, whether they are a skateboarder or a longboarder ... show more

  • who is a wonderful and true gentleman
Weight: 8.5 Pounds Size: 34"
I would be as honest as I can... The idea for this skateboard is 10 stars. The execution and the production values of it is 3 to 4 stars... it will also depend on how it will stand the test of time. I got a problem with mine, but here comes what makes this a 5 star product, Mr Bin, who is a wonderful and true gentleman, a professional and a man of his word. I had a problem with my board and he answered quickly making sure to take care about it, he did very well and I am very pleased from him. I know he is trying to make this thing work and this is the third "incarnation" of the board (but it is my first!). They started with kickstart and here they are.I honestly do not know how much this board will stand in time, but it is really worth it especially if you consider that the man who created it stands for his creation and tries and succeeds to make something inovative, unique, useful and fun! Overall 5 stars... Hope in the future I will be able to support again Mr Bin and an even better "incarnation" of his cool skateboard. Buy with no hesitation, truly cool idea, good execution, wonderful service... ... show more

  • Worst customer service ever
Weight: 8.5 Pounds Size: 34"
After less than a month and a half the board lost one of it’s main screws. Even worse, I can’t get in touch with anyone from BoardUp. Not worth the money.
