    • Great riser bar for the price, better than using adjustable hardware
Much safer than steerer tube extenders or adjustable stems. Tube extenders are super rigid which means all the stress goes into the steerer and head tube. With riser bars there is more flex where the bars take the stress, reducing wear on your bike’s head tube and steerer. Adjustable stems are less of an issue with this but they are another failure point which usually slips in a crash which can be dangerous. Handlebars can rotate in a crash but they usually won’t become all loose and floppy the way adjustable stems do. Adjustable stems and steerer extenders are good for commuters not doing heavy sprints or just for dialing in your fit to see what you like before finalizing your decision with a good handlebar stem combo. These handlebars have exactly the amount of rise I’m looking for as a tall rider, not so high that I’m fully upright and not so low that I’m straining my back and shoulders to stay on the bars. It has a really advanced knurling pattern where the stem clamps on which I guess helps it grab on since it’s cheaper metal than a more expensive bar. It’s not excessively heavy or flexy, seems very well made, only defect I found was some metal splatter from welding after it was painted resulting in a little silvery bead near one of the welds (must be from another bar earlier in process being manufactured nearby) ... show more

Updated: I finally put some stress on these bars and stripped most of the ribbed stem mount area doing a small ledge drop off. I wouldn't trust these for anything more than casual riding. I'll keep the five stars since they are great for cruising. I bought these by accident, luckily I had a 25.4 mm stem handy. These bars are at least .125" thick tubing. The finish looks to be black anodize. The bars are extremely light and do flex compared to 4130 steel. I was on the fence about keeping them, but they are extremely comfortable on long road rides. ... show more
