Love this butcher block! I got the unfinished one since I needed to trim a couple inches off to fit my space. It was great quality, easy to cut and finish, and it looks so beautiful!! It was also cheaper than the same one at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I bought the unfinished backsplash to match, trimmed it as well, and used the remaining piece as a “shelf” to cover the gap between the wall and the backsplash. Love it! Perfect for what I was needing. I was having issues finding the exact size (36" x 48") I wanted and cam across this beauty. It arrived well packaged and no damage. It is Heavy and Solid! I used Watco 241758 Butcher Block Oil & Finish, Clear. One 16oz can was enough for 4+ coats on both sides. I lightly sanded with 400 grit between each coat, according to the directions. Best deal for butcher block. Used one for a bar top and the other for countertop. Both took stain without blotching. These are heavy so beware of who delivers them. FedEx gonna fedex your packages so expect dents, dings and ripped cardboard. There are many layers of protection from the factory and while this seems like overkill mine somehow ended up dinged.
