Overall headphones are good for what I need them for. However, the bluetooth refuses to connect to my laptop. Customer service was awesome and replaced the product but the second pair has the same issue. This new pair does connect to my phone unlike the first pair, however, if I want to use them with the laptop I need to use a cord. Not the end of the world but disappointed ... show more

My first pair broke - the plastic piece that goes across your head snapped in half when I was putting them on. Customer service reached out to me to offer a replacement since the headphones were still under warranty. Overall the headphones are great, very comfortable with nice sound. I previously purchased the XBT-80 design and then was sent the XBT-880 for free to review, so my review has a perspective comparing to that earlier model. Now the first thing to note is the changes in design and build quality. I think this is where the 880 really took a step up from the previous model. The 880 is still pretty light, but it's not so cheaply light as the XBT-80 . The new design is very slick and shiny, which I prefer over the old matte design. The curved band has a very nice quality protein leather padding and a hard plastic exterior which feels more durable and looks more expensive. I really appreciate that this design has the extension to enlarge the headphones be a seamless material sliding into the band, rather than in the XBT-80 where extending the headphones exposed a different tacky looking material underneath. Another improvement in the 880 design is that the ear pieces are much larger than in the XBT-80, actually qualifying as over-ear instead of on-ear. The ear pieces are also much better padded and the material isn't bunched up like on the XBT-80. The buttons on the 880 are much more user-friendly too, I never got to figuring out the XBT-80 buttons because there were so many small ones packed close together, but the 880 has simplified the button design so it looks better, is easier to find the buttons without looking, and has a satisfying click noise. With that said, the headphones arrived with a couple spots of hot glue which I easily scraped off with my finger, but very unprofessional. Another design flaw is that the cord connecting the ear pieces to the band is external in this design and the slack bunches up unless the headphones are fully extended. The 880 sadly took away the really satisfying fold of the XBT-80. The headphones still fold up, but it's a really stuff transition and the first time I tried it, it made a noise and it felt like I could have broken it! After a week or so of use, the edges where the protein leather met the plastic of the band started separating slightly. For the audio, I'm no sound expert but I have no issues with sound quality. I don't listen to bass heavy songs or anything, but the audio is clear and I don't notice any levels being left out, so it works perfect for me. The start-up voice is so much better than on the XBT-80 whose voice was always full volume and very robotic and unpleasant, but I have no issues with the new voice: it's non intrusive and much quieter. My only sound issue is sometimes before the music starts or in between songs you can hear a faint high frequency background noise that the headphones put out when in operation. The headphones aren't actively noise-cancelling, but I find it very easy to tune out noise in public places with any music playing, and the louder your music the easier that will be. On my initial test of the battery, the headphones performed fairly close to the claimed quantities. I measured approximately 14-16 hr of play with a 2 hr charging time. All in all, the complaints I have about this product are somewhat nit-picking, and the product has a great design and quality for the price. Additionally, the product comes with a one year warranty after purchase. In my experience, the riwbox support team was incredibly helpful and sent me a replacement product without any questions asked or even having to return the original product, and I only contacted them for a small issue and the headphones were still perfectly functioning. I was a little worried when I saw the bad English on the riwbox website and in the response email they sent, but the customer service was perfect and the products aren't poorly made.     • Riwbox XBT-880 headphones broke after 1 year

I bought 2 of these in June 2021 for my son and I to listen to TV while my wife works in the other room. I use mine daily for several hours each day. They have been great as far as sound and the fit of them over our ears. About a year later one side broke at the plastic hinge. There doesn’t seem to be a way to fix it I just put some tape around the hinge. Very wonky but it kind of stays in place. A couple of months later the other hinge broke in the same place. I am assuming that any folding headphones with plastic in the hinge will fail before any other part of the headphone. I consider myself very cautious about handling any electronics with cheap plastic but that didn’t help. Also I don’t fold the headphones, they hang on a nice plastic headphone holder. If I buy more headphones that have a hinge I will probably glue the hinge to keep it from moving. ... show more
