It's a little pricey but what's it worth? A lot, as long as it works & I say that because it doesn't come with a test cartridge, it's a trust the manufacturer type of deal. I hope I never have to rate how it works. At my age fishing lakes & rivers alone it's a no brainer. It's a no brainer period. I've been on a boat that sunk, one that was swamped, fallen out of a boat, & knocked out of a canoe by a limb, only one of the four did I have time to grab a life vest & one did I have time to put on a life vest before goin in the water. The other two happened to quick there was no time to grab one. So I hope it works. That's why it got 4 stars across the board, no test cartridge. ... show more

So I used this vest kayaking in Class 1 rapids. Had to jump out of my kayak to help another kayaker and my unleashed paddle floated away. The current was brutal so I ripped open the velcro and inflated the vest using the tube just in case. 4 breaths and this vest was fully inflated and highly visible. Made hunting for my paddle feel much safer. I love this vest as my paddling motion is unrestricted and I had the best customer experience ever with this company. ... show more
