Thicooler sits outside in Georgia, 24 x 7 and I only ice it down 2 times a month, but never run out if cold beer or sodas. I like our cooler well enough but it doesn’t keep ice for 10 days like they claim. It’s big which is nice, and it does keep ice for longer than our old Coleman, so we’re happy enough with it. I just expected more after reading about how great it was at keeping ice for so long. We definitely need to keep draining the water out and adding ice every couple days. It’s been in the 90’s tho and close to 100 some days tho so maybe that’s just too hot for it to handle. The wheels are helpful and the clasps are well designed. The blue color is really lovely too. This cooler holds a ton but also requires 2-3 people to lift it once filled. We had 3 cases of cans, and about 24 water bottles. As far as ice retention, no where near 10 days as claimed. Maybe 10 days if you never open it. But we had lots of opening and closing over 4 days and I had to add ice twice. It was great to only have to pack 1 cooler instead of 2 or 3, but just know 1 person can roll it but if you have to lift into a camper or vehicle, you’ll need help. ... show more

    • Would give a five if the lock mechanism worked for a standard lock. It doesn't even come close.

PHOTOS: - 10 pound Ice bag after 54 hours sitting in 85-90 degrees outside in shade - Lock doesn't fit straight up - Turn lock 90 degrees and slide toward hole, the bend plastic enough that you can rotate lock 90 degrees to fit. You can see the scraped up plastic that results from this necessary maneuver. - Even after in the hole, lock doesn't have room to rotate. And in this position extremely hard to get to combination of the lock. Instead, you have to rotate the lock horizontal again so that the combination can be accessed, bending the plastic in the process. Excellent cooler. Keeps ice well. Lock design is silly. A standard lock won't even come close to fitting. A cable lock might work, if one had a tiny end on it. The standard Master Cable lock won't fit through the holes in the plastic top. They are smaller than the metal beneath. The ONLY lock I could find that would fit is a 2.5" hasp. It only fits if you open the lid, slide it on sideways, then compress the plastic hard enough to rotate it vertically until it fits. Then you can pass it through the metal plate. In the process, you crush the plastic a little bit. They need to put metal plates on both the box side and the lid side. Cut out enough of the lid corner to expose a hasp-shaped hole that any standard lock will fit in. Solves all the problems. The reason it's three stars is that there are several choices of Chinese made coolers in this price range and quality. And it's so easy to get this one thing right, but they didn't. Make no mistake, the 100qt is a massive unit! I wanted a good sized one and decided on the Blue 100qt based on the price and the size. A lot of the other brands seem to top out about 65qt. I loaded up the cooler for 4th of July party with a couple cases of beer and 40lbs of ice. The cooler has been on my back deck for 7 days in 80-90 Temps and directly in the afternoon sun. Day 7 there is no ice left, but the remaining beers are still cold. Day 6 was the last inch or so of ice remaining in the bottom. It seems to melt progressively, as in, the cooler was still half full of ice 5 days in. Melts down faster the less there is. All that being said, I own no other high end coolers, but I am impressed with this one. Just be advised that it is huge and heavy, but seems very well built and does a great job. I'll probably get a smaller one down the road, but I'll stick with a Blue unless my opinion changes with time. Based on the apparent quality, I don't expect my opinion will change. ... show more

She then referred me to the Amazon rep for returns and damaged goods. He was absolutely fantastic. He took care of my situation and I rec'd a new cooler within a week. I have purchased many many coolers in my life, and everyone I bought was purchased because it was inexpensive. I have hated the quality of all of my past cheap coolers. They just don't keep ice long at all. I decided to FINALLY pay a bit more for a cooler that actually works. I did my research and found this Blue Cooler. This thing is a BEAST. Such high quality and not as expensive as some out there. I love the accessories that came with it. The cutting board that slides down the middle to separate items and the basket crate that can hold some things above the ice. We camp a ton as a family, so this thing is going to get a lot of use, so I am really excited about the quality. This one is their 100q, so it isn't light when filled, but the handles are nice, and two people can get the job done. I highly recommend it, because the first time we used it, our ice actually kept throughout our trip. In the long run, I think we will save money because I won't be in need of another cooler for a LONG time. I've easily spent over $500 on my last 10 crappy coolers. ... show more
