Our goldendoodle has always been on the calm side and has never loved eating. He also always seemed to have tummy issues (obsessively eating grass and runny poop). We tried so many different brands and he never really liked them. We finally tried him on this a couple years ago when he was 3 and wow! His bowels firmed up, he’s no longer obsessively eating grass any chance he gets, and the funny part is he has more energy. Still a fairly calm dog but it was nice to see him seem like he feels better. He even likes to eat this food. My dog has been eating this brand for about 4 years now. She has tried the chicken, salmon, and red meat flavors. Usually she loves the chicken flavor but I decided to change it up and buy the red meat. She loves this flavor too. I use to feed her Organix brand organic dog food until she stopped eating it for some unknown reason. After researching for other high quality brands I've found blue buffalo wilderness brand a great alternative. Although not organic, the quality of the food is far superior than most dog foods out in the market. Anytime my sisters dogs or other family members or friends' dogs come over, they all ask about what dog food I buy because they all seem too like this brand more than their own. Also I would also note that the packaging is completely sealed and you absolutely need scissors to cut through. This is great and better than the paper style bags.     • The only food I give to my dog

My dog is healthy, slim, super active. This is the only food I give to my dog, except for some food that dog steals from my baby. I do not give anything else, just feed her this food twice a day. Her poop is very healthy and semi firm. She never had diarrhea from this food, only if she eats some other types of foods from our table. I highly recommend it. A little expensive but it has real meats and no bs fillers. No corn or grain or anything like that. I cannot find anything similar to this food in any store so I buy it here all the time. While visiting my brother this summer with my 9 year old golden retriever I noted him feeding his 2 year old golden this product. He raved how good it was supposed to be for the pups. I then asked and tried blending 50% with my dogs current food. She seemed to like it more and reading the label of ingredients looked to be a healthier product. Convinced but not thrilled with cost I continued using as I have been at 50/50 mix with her current kibble. Couple months later I can say she sheds less, lost some weight, seems healthier and her “golden nuggets” are firm indication of good diet. Can’t say for cost worth 100% of her diet but mixed is working well without breaking the bank keeping her fed. ... show more

    • More natural food for my pets...

My dog LOVES this stuff! She gets excited for meal times. I like the idea of a more natural approach to what I was previously feeding my pets (Pedigree and Friskies for the kitties). This is by far more expensive - double the cost of what we were feeding her. But she seems to have begun to eat less of this than the Walmart fare. She would eat the old brand and still seem hungry. She'd eat the whole bag if you let her, then get into the garbage closet if someone didn't close it all the way. Argh! It was frustrating! With this more natural brand she seems to get full faster, and is definitely more satisfied after she's eaten. She no longer scrounges for something more to put in her belly. This in itself is a miracle. We've had her for 8 years and she's always had some neuroses. She is a rescue dog - she was a breeder in a puppy mill left outside in a cage too small for a German Shepherd. She'd lived a horrible life before we found her. One of her major quirks is food. Like she could never get enough, as though she was never Given enough when she was at that puppy mill. For some reason - and I don't really know what that reason is - but this food has helped her in ways I never thought anything could. After having her since 2008, this is the first time she's been able to eat then settle down and not go scrounging for more. After this many years with her, I'm pretty convinced that the two are somehow related. She's happier now at and after mealtimes for sure - so we're happy too! We also got the treats from Blue Buffalo and Oh My Goodness - she goes bonkers for those! Great brand - I'm sold. The money difference is worth it.     • My dog loves it, and she is picky.
If my Shiba Inu loves this dog food, and she eats it without being prodded into it, it's got to be good. I like the idea that its not chock full of grains and fillers. My dogs will not eat food that is full of that kind of junk, and I have no intention of feeding them garbage like that. I used to feed my dogs Iams, but all of a sudden they stopped eating it, and literally refused to touch the stuff. Then I found out Procktor and Gamble bought the brand and changed the recipe to nothing but fillers and grains which is why my dogs stopped eating it. I purchased this for our one-year-old Australian Shepherd. Aussies are crazy high energy dogs. She needs a good food with lots of protein to keep her lean and give her energy for all the running and playing she does. This food really seems to meet those requirements, and she seems to love the taste of it. We feed her twice a day and she gobbles this up when we feed her. We tried other types of Blue Buffalo for her in the past, and she would often let the food sit there (even for an entire day sometimes) without eating a bite.
