This kibble apparently smells and tastes good to our Blue Heeler and Lab . They are happy, healthy, playful dogs who never seem to have tummy issues. Our lab as a sensitive tummy- and she eats a mixture of high protein Blue Buffalo Wilderness kibble with a can of Blue Buffalo, Blue Wilderness or Blue freedom variety twice a day. 3/2/2023: Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein Natural Healthy Weight Adult Dry Dog Food Plus Wholesome Grains, Chicken 28 lb Bag This is a really nice, high quality dog food that my dog appears to like (he can be a bit picky, so this is not a given!). I am not sure it's worth the higher price tag though -- all of Blue Buffalo's formulas seem like good, high quality dog foods, and they're not all this expensive. I normally feed my Blue Buffalo's "Life Protection Formula" with chicken. The first two ingredients are the same, and they both share most of the same other ingredients, just in a slightly different order. This one has dried chicken as the 3rd ingredient; the life protection formula has brown rice as the 3rd ingredient. This is a higher protein food than the Life Protection formula, but I'm not sure if healthy adult dogs actualy need more protein, so again, I'm not sure if this is worth the extra cost. Both this and the life protection formula seem like good foods that I would be happy to feed my dog, so 4 stars seems right to me. If this one and the Life Protection one were the same price I might keep getting this one, but since they're not.. unless my dog seems healthier and happier on a higher protein diet, I'll most likely end up going back once this bag is empty. We've had our pups on Science Diet for a while and noticed that they never quite felt satisfied with this formula. No matter the amount given, my 50-pounder always came to me asking for more. So, right when we were about to start looking for a different formula, we happened upon this one and thought to give it a try. Ingredients: 5-stars The first three ingredients of this formula are meat products (deboned chicken, chicken meal, and dried chicken). This is important, as good parents know, because so many of the low-grade foods contain corn products or other fillers that are not good for our babies. I was also happy to see flaxseed and fruit products built into the mix. To see antioxidants built into this formula shows me the manufacturer cares about making a food we can depend to be good for our pups and that we'll continue buying. Taste: 5-stars Yes, we tasted it. I have to say this product is less bland than some other brands we've tried. What this means is the more I can taste it, the more my dogs can taste it. I've learned that because their taste buds are sensitive, most foods that seem bland to us are, in actuality, flavorful to them. The taste is like a watered-down chicken broth and my pups went to town on it. What pups thought: 5-stars When we first got this bag, we had it sitting next to their food container. We opened it and scooped in just enough to start integrating the new product with the old (so as not to upset their tummies). The food container is at the back of the house by our pantry. Our living room is toward the front of the house. For a few days, our dogs wouldn't lay in their beds in the evenings while we watched a little bit of before-bed tv. They had opted to go lay on the rug that sits between the kitchen and the garage more toward the back of the house. We had no idea why. When we would try to shoo them to the living room, they got all grouchy and started complaining. They would move, but they would just go right back. After a while we figured out what was happening. They were guarding the new food! We had never seen this behavior before and had no idea what to do. So we mixed the entire bag with their old food and let them have the empty bag. They licked and licked, and when they were done with it, we threw the bag away. The behavior stopped instantly. Bizarre, but told me everything I needed to know - they loved this food. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So I take great care into what foods my doggo baby's eat so much so that I cook for them on a bi-daily basis so not only is it completely lacking in biproducts chemicals and garbage that most dog foods have in them just to keep them on the shelf for 2 years time to have enough staying power just so they can sell in a store but also stay edible after purchasing as well! But also so that it's fresh and at the peak flavor and textures they enjoy! I have had a handful of puppers over my years and I had one who unfortunately gotten a heart murmur and the vet said it was most likely caused by the food I was feeding him!!! I couldn't believe my ears!!! Since then I have done soo much research on dog foods and animal health that it's really kinda unreasonable!! I should be a vet tech at least by now!! Just kidding. But really I have! Grain free is only good for us!! As in people! Unless your pooch has a particular allergy to grains and it would be a certain one don't assume that just because your paying a lot for food does it mean it's good food!!! They tend just to follow our (as in people) trends and what advertisers and promotion pushers can pick up on and force feed you to make there products the most noticeable and stand out! Don't believe the hype!!! They will do or say what ever to get a leg over the competition and they don't care if it's a healthy relationship with the pet or not! Just that it sells sells sells!!! Most dog foods have barely enough nutrients in them to just keep your loved one alive and that's about it. Really it's true Google it!! I happen to love this brand because of the comparative nutrition stats to the other brands I like to buy. The flavor for the pups because nutrition alone won't be enough if they won't touch it!!! It must taste and smell appeasing and appetizing!! Just look at my video it will hands down show you a spoiled beyond belief little pup who's been ruined for all other dog foods and treats because he will turn down steak if not prepared correctly to his liking, no joke!
