Excellent food! I have 2 with sensitive stomach and this is the only food so far that doesn't give them the runs. Expensive but lasts a long time with you are mixing them up a wet food soup. I cut the can into 6 services, add warm water and mash it up twice a day (they have access to dry food as well). It keeps them hydrated and they lick the bowl clean. ... show more

Wouldn’t even taste it…

My cats would not go near the bowls, they love that I was about to feed them a new wet food. But they smelled it and walked away. They didn’t like anything about this food. Tried 3 cans. The cats wouldn’t even taste it.

Generally, a very good choice, but I had one big problem

I have been feeding my cats Blue Buffalo since shortly after the company was founded, and was once a demonstrator for the company. Since I began feeding Blue Buffalo, I have raised four cats into their twenties, one of them making it to within a few months of 29 years of age. I am a big fan of Blue Buffalo cat food products. I free-feed Blue Buffalo kibble, and that's pretty much the only kibble that my cats receive, although I'll occasionally buy another premium kibble just to give them some variety. However, my two cats split a can of wet food in the morning and, if they have eaten it, another one in the evening, and I rotate among a wide variety of premium canned foods because they pretty much insist on variety in canned foods. In several years, I have never had a problem with a can of Blue Buffalo wet food, that is, until this case. One can from the last case of food that I bought had gone very, very bad. I don't know what had gone wrong with this can but when I opened the can, the room filled with the most disgusting stench I have come across in a long time. I dumped it into a bowl, and it came out as a liquid that smelled like a decaying body. It was really, really bad. I dumped the contents of it onto the grass at the far end of my backyard, and after double-bagging it within two plastic grocery bags, the empty cat food can still reeked so bad that I couldn't deposit it in my trash can. I had to take it outside and hose it off for a while before bagging it up into a couple of other plastic grocery bags. Had this been the first time that I had ever tried Blue Buffalo cat food, I would never again purchase the product. I don't know what might have gone wrong in the process, but this was gross. However, since I have been successfully feeding pretty much every recipe of Blue Buffalo cat food products to my cats for many years without ever before having such a problem, I can forgive it, although I do feel the need to mention it. Something went wrong here. Nevertheless, my cats were not in danger because there was no way that I would try to feed something that smelled this bad to my cats. So, I was out of just one can of food from a case of twelve, and I was subjected to a grueling olfactory experience, but no one died. I will continue to buy Blue Buffalo food because I believe that Blue Buffalo has added years to the lives of my cats, but I hope this never happens again. My overall experience with this food would be a solid five stars, but this one wasn't good. I would like to say that I think the recipe was better before they changed it to Tastefuls. Although my cats will eat the Tastefuls, it seems that they preferred the earlier recipe. Although I am noticing no deleterious effects, I think they'd do well to return to the earlier recipe. ... show more

Bigger cans and a great value

Decided to try this type of blue buffalo version of cat food since the wilderness one takes longer to deliver and I'm surprised how large the cans are! Tried pate of the wilderness one and she hates it because she usually eats the meaty morsal ones so I'm thinking the flaked version of close to it and she gobbled it up. Hoping she likes all the flavors and has no issues eating it. Kinda scared with some of the reviews of cats throwing up and getting sick on this so I hope this doesn't happen with my cat. Update: Although my cat doesn't have any issues with throwing up she isn't eating it like she did when I first bought it. Also the more I look at it the quality isn't as good as the meaty morsal ones I've purchased in the past. I think after careful consideration I'll stick with the wilderness meaty morsals one. Yes it's smaller and more expensive but I feel it's better quality then this one. Sometimes you get what you pay for. This food is ok if you are on a budget and want to try it out but I don't think it's good quality even though it's from blue buffalo. ... show more

As I’ve said in another Blue Buffalo review - I’ve looked over the ingredients of tons of cat food brands and types and this is by far the best product for the money that I’ve found. And my cats enjoy it. They come running when I snap the can. It’s very small chunks with a small amount of gravy. My guys don’t prefer pate options so this is great. Since cats are supposed to get a lot of their water from their food I feed them each a half can of this a day (my vet’s advice for their size) to accompany their Blue Buffalo dry food that I free feed. Their tummies have no problems with it at all and their litter box doesn’t smell terrible either so that’s a good signal as to the quality. ... show more

Not the same anymore! Not in a good way!

They changed the formulas and textures. Flaked is NOT FLAKES It's dried kibble that has been soaked in fluid. It smells the same no matter the flavor that's on the can, it smells like grain/cereals. It's the exact same size pellets in every can. My cats wouldn't touch it! The raccoons outside wouldn't eat any flavors either.
