  • Great dry food option for novel protein diets
Flavor Name: Duck & Potato Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I've had issues with my cat having soft stools on and off for awhile now. I tried using pumpkin for fiber, fortiflora for gut health but always the soft stools returned. Not to mention he always had itchy ears and reoccurring ear infections which my vet suggested could be food related. I finally looked into changing proteins and there was a recommendation for this brand and it has done wonders. My cats stool looks much healthier now and he doesn't seem to be as itchy as he used to be around his ears. Highly recommend this as a first step in moving toward a novel protein diet. ... show more

  • Good for sensitive stomachs
Flavor Name: Turkey & Potato Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
My cat used to throw up about once a week. Now she never does. My other cat had constipation issues and does better on this food.

  • It's up to my cat
Flavor Name: Fish & Potato Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
This is my cat's staple food, she is 13 years old and picky and whiny as hell. She loves this food.

  • Is this potatoes with a little turkey?
Flavor Name: Turkey & Potato Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I saw another customer stated how the cat food smelled like potatoes. They are not wrong! Upon opening the bag, I thought I was opening a bag of potato chips instead! The cats like it and I had been feeding them blue buffalo before but I have one cat that is having skin problems and belly problems so I figured I’d try this. However, The fact that the bag has such a strong smell of potatoes makes me wonder just how much turkey is actually in this and is it more potatoes than turkey? Because cats need meat protein not loaded with carbs! I am perplexed. I may try another food. ... show more

  • No more stinky poos, pica or skin issues
Flavor Name: Duck & Potato Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
The backstory: We adopted a cat that had a rough early life with conjunctivitis and calicivirus, and has had a list of other issues constantly. She had pica (eats inedible things), was always itchy and overgroomed her tail, constantly runny eye, really stinky poos (like knockout stinky) etc. The vet wasn't able to give us many tips on things to try without running a long list of pricey tests. We'd tried Missing Link vitamins, probiotics, etc etc. Nothing worked. Then I was reading up on overgrooming one day and realized some of her problems might be attributed to a food allergy. We fed our cats Simply Nourish (PetSmart's brand) before, either salmon or chicken, always grain free. She was always itchy no matter the protein but her tail picking seemed to get worse with the chicken. I read a lot of cats are actually allergic to both salmon and chicken, and so your best bet if that seems to be the case is to try a food that uses an atypical protein, like duck, rabbit, or turkey. A bit wary of poultry in general, I decided to try Blue's limited ingredient food in duck & potato after doing some research and comparing ingredient lists. From my perspective, Blue had the best quality ingredient list when compared to Instinct and Nature's Balance limited ingredient diets. (Real duck first before duck meal, more animal protein than pea protein, etc). The cats LOVE THIS. I tried transitioning them slowly, but they actually stopped eating out of the bowls that were still mixing their new and old foods. My older cat loves it too, because the pieces are smaller and easier to chew for her. Here's the best part: Our "health problem kitty" isn't picking at her tail anymore. Her poos DON'T STINK!! (I thought the day would never come). And just the other day, she got a hold of a shoelace and chewed a piece of it off, but she DIDN'T EAT THE PIECE! We're so pleased with this food. I didn't know a diet change like this could make such a big difference. It's just a bummer that not many pet stores physically sell it near us. To address some issues others have reported in these reviews, I don't find this food to be overwhelmingly stinky. It smells like a typical cat food. Actually kinda smells better than the food we were buying. Additionally if you try this food in a certain protein and your cat's poos are stinkier than before, it's really just possible the food transition didn't happen slow enough, or the new protein you picked just doesn't agree with your cat either. Finding harmony when cats have food allergies and sensitive tummies takes experimentation and, unfortunately, surviving some litter box bombs and blowouts. Thankfully we found a protein their bodies are happy with on the first try. But if your cat is more miserable eating duck, try rabbit, or turkey. And so on. ... show more

  • Shedding has all but stopped
Flavor Name: Fish & Potato Size: 11 Pound (Pack of 1)
I got two kittens from the humane society in July 2021. I know you are not supposed to just suddenly switch foods, so I took it extra slow as I changed them from the Purina Kitten Chow they had been on, to Blue Buffalo Kitten. They did well for awhile, but then I noticed one kitten suddenly started blowing coat around November. I know cats shed and especially long-haired cats, but this was HORRIBLE. When she would just walk by you she had a cloud of hair blowing in the wind reminiscent of the cloud that followed Pigpen on the old Charlie Brown cartoons. I was having to vacuum the curtains, the carpets and the furniture at least twice a day, on top of which I was going through at least one and sometimes two lint rollers EVERY DAY. I have a large air purifier that normally takes a new filter every 6 months or so, but now I was having to change filters every 1-2 weeks! It was unbearable. The next thing I noticed was that at times a few minutes after eating, she would throw up. She was scratching constantly and would have sneezing fits that would go on for a full minute or more. She was grumpy and preferred not to be handled. She stopped wanting to play with her sister as well, preferring instead to hide away and sleep. Multiple vet checks revealed nothing obviously wrong. They both had the softest, shiniest coat the vet had ever seen. I got a lot of compliments on them. But as I searched for an answer, I kept running across food allergies as a possible cause for her symptoms. So I found this limited ingredient diet and decided to try it. Over the course of a month I slowly switched them over to this food. The sneezing stopped, the scratching stopped, and wonder of wonders--her shedding dropped to a normal level at last! I will probably never know for sure exactly what was in the regular food that she was allergic to, but am I ever glad to have found this! Now Honey is back to running around the house like her tail is on fire, playing with her sister and being the comic she was as a kitten. Her coat is full again and still just as shiny and soft as before. And the best part is that it comes in different flavors, so I can switch them up every week or so to prevent them from getting bored. Very good food that I highly recommend. A bit pricey, but I look at it as an investment. Pay a little more over time with the food and keep them healthy; or feed cheap food and get hit later on with a sudden emergency health issue that you aren't prepared for. I will buy the better food. ... show more

Well the product might be great, if your cat will eat it. But if they won't, it's not returnable. So you better know your cat likes this before you order it. I bought this because kitty was having digestive issues. It had pretty good reviews and kitty was eating a different Blue Buffalo variety. Thought she would like it. Clearly I was wrong.
