BACKGROUND** I needed a backup phone - mostly for streaming audio/video - and decided to try this BLU model out since they emailed me with this special price offer/reduction. I owned an early BLU model several years ago when they started the company and manufacturing was purportedly taking place in the US. I called BLU prior to this "G51 Plus" purchase and discovered they have the phones manufactured in China with all parts from China. Many manufacturers source the manufacturing in China, but some components are from other countries. In addition, the OS may be developed and installed either in China or in another country - like the US. PURCHASE AND PRODUCT EXPERIENCE** Once the phone arrived after a few Amz shipping logistics delays, the packing was very good although no battery labels/hazardous warnings were affixed to the shipped box. The BLU product box was functional and nice but not fancy, and smashed on one corner. PROS: nice clear large 6.5" screen, came with free rugged case, camera appears to be upgraded, 4GB ram rather than the former 3GB on an earlier G51 model, build quality of housing is solid with very good volume and power buttons CONS: single speaker on bottom sounds very cheap and inferior, phone operation seems sluggish even though it's 4GB ram, WiFi radio only supports 2.5Ghz (not also 5Ghz), lots of 'bloatware', and the worse drawback - the EULA upon startup/setup clearly states that operating the phone means user agrees to have personally identifiable information gathered by BLU and used for various purposes as well as stored in the US or other countries (which smells to me like a huge caveat to mean 'China'/CCP). So for all the above reasons - and the fact that many of these details were not clearly stated in the product description - this little phone is being returned. ... show more

    • love the phone!!! BUT, the battery lasts an average of maybe 12 hours
like I said, phone is fantastic, but the battery only lasts about 12 hrs.
