I purchased this phone specifically for Android app development — Google requires testing on a physical device before submitting to the Play Store, and at this price point, the BLU C5L MAX seemed like a reasonable way to check that box. For that narrow purpose, it works. My app loaded and ran without issues, and the phone does technically function as an Android device. That said, the overall user experience is rough. The phone arrived with a completely dead battery out of the box, which meant waiting for a charge before I could even begin setup. Once powered on, every interaction felt sluggish. Simple tasks like navigating settings and enabling developer mode were an exercise in patience — individual button presses consistently took over a second to register. This is on a brand-new device with no additional apps installed, so performance would likely only degrade further with regular use. With 2GB of RAM and the entry-level hardware, the specs do set realistic expectations, but the lag goes beyond what I'd consider acceptable even for a budget phone. I genuinely cannot imagine using this as a daily driver for calls, texting, and apps. If you need the cheapest possible Android device to meet a specific technical requirement — like developer testing — it gets the job done. But if you're looking for a functional everyday phone, even on a tight budget, I'd strongly recommend saving up a bit more for something with better responsiveness. ... show more

Its a phone Bought it for work, its cheap, feels kinda flimsy, and its slow, but the battery is removable and it has a headphone jack so honestly not bad. Setup was annoying cuz i got a used unit that wasnt formatted but it wasnt too horrible to reset it... beyond that its got a lot of google slop on it but for a basically single use phone for me, not bad ... show more

I ran it almost consistently for 4 hours and it died. Most phones you attach a charger to it and even while running it recharges. This one doesn't. It doesn't move hardly at all. If running even without using it dies quickly. If not for battery saver it would die even faster. If not for the battery issue it would be a good phone. I'm thankful this wasn't meant to be my main phone. But I'd rather stick to my other phone that I use to watch videos despite the cracked screen hence why I bought this as a replacement. But that ship said with the sucky battery life. ... show more
