  • An understated masterpiece
The BLU Bold N3 is an incredible phone for the price. It has everything I need and more, including a beautiful AMOLED display, 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM, NFC, and 66W fast charging. The camera is also decent, and the design is sleek and modern. I've been using the Bold N3 for a couple of weeks now, and I'm very impressed with its performance. It's fast and responsive, and the battery life is excellent. I can easily get through a full day of use on a single charge. Another thing I love about the Bold N3 is that it has NFC. This means I can use it to make contactless payments with Google Pay, which is very convenient. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the BLU Bold N3. It's a great value for the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable phone with amazing specs. Here are some of the things I love most about the Bold N3: *Beautiful AMOLED display: The display is bright, crisp, and has vibrant colors. It's perfect for watching videos, playing games, and browsing the web. *256GB of storage: This is more storage than most people will ever need, but it's great to have the option. I can store all of my photos, music, and apps without having to worry about running out of space. *8GB of RAM: The Bold N3 is very fast and responsive, even when running multiple apps at the same time. This is thanks to its powerful processor and 8GB of RAM. *66W fast charging: The Bold N3 can be charged from 0 to 100% in just over 30 minutes. This is incredibly fast, and it's a great feature to have if you're always on the go. *Beautiful design: The Bold N3 has a sleek and modern design. It's thin and light, and it feels great in the hand. If you're looking for an affordable phone with amazing specs, the BLU Bold N3 is the perfect choice for you. It's a great value for the price, and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Flagship phone on a budget
I received my new BLU Bold N3 (late September 2023.) And I have been playing with since then. This my first foray into 5G. I'm upgrading from a 2021 BLU G91 Pro using 4G LTE, and running on Android 11. My rating of five stars for the BLU Bold N3 (2023) is primarily due to this phone exceeding all my needs from a phone. But to be completely honest, my needs are relatively meager -- and my focus is on value -- how much do you get for the price? In my mind, you get a lot for the price. COMMENTS: I only have a few clarifications, none of which are deal breakers for me, but might be to someone else: [EDIT: Reference to Owner's Manual added 23Sep23] 0) Tiny included Owner's manual is hard to read and is really a quick guide to some features -- not a comprehensive manual. More readable versions of the manual can be fund on-line. Most users will be able to figure out what to do without referring to the owner's manual. 1) There is no external storage slot for a micro SD. You get 256GB of internal storage, and that's it. That's way more than I need. But it may not be enough for others. Of course, you might be able to use a USB-C dongle for external storage, as the phone specs say it has on-the-go, plug-in capability, but I haven't tried it. You can also defer to cloud storage. 2) There is no water-resistant rating. So not a good idea to roam in the rain with it, or drop it in the toilet or a pond. I keep my phone in my pocket and seldom venture out in the rain, so not a big issue for me, but maybe it is for those who like to play in the water with their phones. [EDIT: No Wireless Charging confirmed, added 18Nov23] 3) There is no wireless charging. I now have a wireless charger, and have tested the phone. Not to worry, though. This is a big-battery phone, touted at 3-days, and comes with a fast charging wall charger that will charge you phone in under 40 minutes from 1 to 100%. Your mileage, however, will vary with how much you use your phone, where you set screen brightness, what connectivity you have on, and what apps you keep running in the background. Still, some heavy users might want wireless charging. Again, as in the other cons, this isn't a concern for me. [EDIT: Reference to FM Radio added 24Sep23] 4) There is no 3.5mm earphone socket. The included earphones have a USB-C connector, which means you can't plug in ear phones while charging the phone. Owner's manual refers to FM Radio which N3 does have, and it uses the included wired earphones as antenna. You can switch the FM Radio sound between speaker and included wired earphones, as long as the wired earphones remain plugged in. However, I was unable to switch the FM Radio sound to wireless earbuds. 5) The Blu Bold N3 (2023) will not run on AT&T, or Verizon. So users will be stuck with T-Mobile. Personally, I don't have any issues with T-Mobile, so this isn't an issue for me. [EDIT: Comment on Bluetooth added 24Sep23] 6) In the pull-down quick menu, the Blue tooth icon just turns Bluetooth on or off. To get to the Bluetooth options, go to SETTINGS >> CONNECTED DEVICES >> BLUETOOTH to find Bluetooth pairing and other options. (EDIT: Comment on Screen sensitivity added 21 Oct 23) 7) The display screen is very sensitive to touch, though I have never had any issues with its curved screen. However, when the phone is in my pocket with the screen facing my body, the screen will start reacting when I am sweating through my clothes. The cure is very simple -- turn the screen around away from my body. OTHER GOOD: There are plenty of good stuff -- in fact, even excellent stuff included for the price. I don't want to repeat BLU's advertising, but I concur with BLU, in that this is a really nice looking phone -- beautiful, in fact, with amazing display that is curved on all four sides, and has fluid motion with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. The display also supports edge lighting. I don't have a single issue with BLU's advertised benefits for the N3 (2023). Oh, yeah, the Antutu score is reported as over 592,457, which is pretty awesome. ANDROID 13: I like Android 13, and that's good, because BLU's history of OS upgrades is sparse, if it exists at all. Android 13 makes moving all your apps and data from your old phone to the N3 very easy. USER INTERFACE (Launcher): I don't use the native launcher, which is OK, but I like to enhance the user interface with Nova Prime launcher, which gives me a few more options. OVERALL: A really good 5G phone for a really low price, considering all you get with it. I bought it, I like it, and I would recommend it to my friends. Of course this s a very preliminary review. If in the days ahead I find anything noteworthy or want to re-evaluate, I'll edit the review. ... show more

  • Bold N3 (2023) Product Review
The Bold N3 is a noteworthy contender in the mid-range smartphone market, particularly for those seeking a blend of style, performance, and longevity without breaking the bank. This 2023 model comes in a striking Sage Green color, a breath of fresh air amidst the standard color options available. Design and Display: First impressions are promising with the Bold N3's 6.78” FHD+3D AMOLED display. The colors are vivid, and the black levels are deep, making for an immersive viewing experience whether you’re streaming media or browsing the web. The device feels solid in hand, and the sage green finish gives it a unique look that stands out. Performance: Powered by an unspecified processor with 5G capabilities, the Bold N3 delivers adequate performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. The 8GB of RAM is generous and ensures smooth multitasking across various applications. With 256GB of internal storage, there’s ample space for apps, media, and files, which is a big plus for users who prefer not to rely on cloud storage. Battery Life: The standout feature is undoubtedly the 3-day battery life, a game-changer for power users and travelers alike. This long-lasting performance is thanks to the high-capacity battery that negates the need for daily charging, providing peace of mind for those on the go. Camera: The triple AI 50MP camera setup is impressive on paper, and in practice, it captures sharp images with good detail. The AI enhancement features contribute to better scene recognition and optimization, although results can vary depending on lighting conditions. It's at a lower level of flagship devices, but it's more than capable for social media enthusiasts and casual photographers. Connectivity: NFC capability is an excellent addition to contactless payments and quick device pairing. The 5G support is also future-proof, allowing users to use faster network speeds as they become more widely available. Software and Warranty: The device comes unlocked, which is great for those looking to avoid carrier restrictions, and the US warranty provides a safety net for consumers concerned about after-sales support. The software experience is not specified, but one would hope it runs on a relatively recent version of Android, ensuring access to the latest features and security updates. Conclusion: The Bold N3 (2023) is an attractive package for the price point. It balances performance with high-end features like a 3-day battery life and a solid camera setup wrapped in a stylish design. While it may not compete with flagship models regarding processing power or camera prowess, it is an excellent option for budget-conscious consumers who still want a phone that feels premium and can keep up with their lifestyle. The Bold N3 deserves consideration if you're in the market for an affordable, feature-rich smartphone that won't tether you to a charger or compromise on everyday functionality. ... show more

  • Overall great phone
I had a Blu phone years ago when I traveled to Europe and needed dual sim capability. That one was pretty basic, but it was cheap and worked fine. I need both a work and personal cell number so I was carrying around two phones - time for another dual sim phone. The options were rather limited, but Blu has this capability for most of their line. I really don't like the big phones - my personal phone being a iPhone 12 mini - but they are just going to keep getting bigger so I decided to take that feature off my wish list. I wanted a phone with good battery life. I'm not typically watching a lot of videos, but if I'm on business and social media apps, the occasional phone call, I don't want to suddenly be looking around for a charger. I was also looking for a lot of storage: 128 GB minimum, decent ram and a fast processor. Bonus points for anything not Samsung. Finally, it had to work on Mint Mobile. The Bold N3 checked pretty much all the boxes. It's big though and I'm getting used to that but I am coming to appreciate the extra screen real estate and resolution. The AMOLED screen is plenty bright and sharp enough. It's fast with no lag whatsoever. The processor is fast and with 8GB ram and 256 GB storage, I feel like I'm getting flagship-level specs for bargain pricing. While no wireless charging, it has a fast charger that will charge to 100% in less than an hour. On both Android (Sony and Samsung) and iPhones, I always had to setup the Mint Mobile network to accept text messages. PITA. Not so with Blu. It immediately recognized the sim and decided it was T-Mobile (which it basically is since Mint is now owned by them and it's running on their network) and everything immediately worked. No hoops to go through setting up texts. It doesn't seem to make any difference with the network or the phone. What's more, this pulls in stronger 4G LTE signals than my other phones and pulls 5G in places I never was able to. Dual sim: just works. Both sims work simultaneously. I can take calls on either line - no standby. Call quality is really good. Crystal clear. Speaker is meh. Not stereo or particularly high quality. I just plugin headphones (need a C connector adapter) or go over Bluetooth. The camera is decent. I can't really complain much about it, but I'm not blown away by it either. I think iPhone provides a much better camera experience as whatever the camera lacks, its software more than makes up for. There's some editing capability with the Blu, but many features can only be unlocked with a Google One membership. Face recognition is pretty hit and miss. I had it setup initially and it worked fine. But, if I hadn't put in my contacts yet and was wearing my glasses, nope! Put a hat on, nope! Too bright, too dark - um, nope. Finally I just turned it off. Fingerprint sensor works great and no lag to open. All in all though, this is a great phone for a great price. ... show more

  • Decent phone!
Decent phone for the price! Been using this phone for about 3 days so far and have nothing much to complain about as of yet. This definitely is a beautiful device giving a flagship feel for less money! Screen is a nice big AMOLED display and may not be the highest resolution but for your average consumer it is most definitely more than enough as it's bright vibrant and crisp! Cameras are definitely not going to blow you out of the water but honestly it does get the job done and takes decent photos as shown in the attached images using main camera and macro (might be compressed by amazon). Front camera works and looks pretty decent too. Video recording is a bit subpar as It can record 4k 30 or 1080p 30 but with no 60fps option. It also doesn't seem to have great OIS if any at all but does offer EIS which seems to work decently. It's able to play the games I play like Sky, VRChat and Genshin just fine! The phone also comes with a 66w fast charger, usb-c earphones and simple clear case which feels like nothing special but a nice gift to help protect the phone. The battery seems to last me a little more than a day of moderate use here and there. All in all I'm pretty happy with this phone and would definitely recommend it to someone not looking for something too pricy with decent specs. I'll definitely try updating this review if anything occurs with the device! ... show more

  • Speaker on phone does not work
Love so much about this phone. This is my 8th BLU phone so I am a loyal customer, but unfortunately I am very disappointed in the performance of this phone, specifically the speaker phone. I received the phone 3 days ago and set it up. Most of the features work well and it is a beautiful phone, but the speaker function on the phone does not work. The speaker does work for music and videos, so it seems like it must be a software issue. I tried all of the usual fixes including several reboots. I consulted the user manual in which the word, "speaker" is not found in a word search. The word, "sound" occurs 4 times, all in the same paragraph. Dreading the gauntlet of customer support I finally made the call. The agent was helpful as she could be, but had to give up. We did a system update, and then after clearing storage and cache in the phone app and trying it again, no joy. She told me I would need to do a hard factory reset. I've been down that avenue before and of course it means losing all of your data. She said if that does not fix it, to send it back to Amazon. Needless to say, I am more than disappointed that a brand new, fresh-out-of-the box phone is defective. I prefer to write positive reviews, and as a loyal BLU customer for years now, I would have liked to have sent some love their way. ... show more

  • Great performance for the price!
I finally decided to upgrade my phone as my note 9 was finally giving up the ghost after 6 years of use. I was not willing to shell out 1500 dollars to get the latest and greatest as I would not be using many of the features. I do not game oftenbut will occasionally and I do stream a lot of movies and music. As such I felt the low end phone just barely met my needs but would falter due to low memory and battery life. In steps the N3. I decided for a little more money I would go for a mid tier device and hope for the best. Imagine my surprise when not only did it meet my needs, it greatly surpassed them. It was quick to start up. Runs my apps very quick, the battery will last almost 2 days with moderate use, it's biometric sensors (both fingerprint and face unlock) are accurate and quick, and it is very aesthetically pleasing. The only small downside that would be outstripped by a main brand flagship phone would be the camera which takes a decent photo, but is slower to snap and process. Overall I am greatly impressed with this phone and would recommend it for those looking for higher end performance without spending an entire month income. ... show more

  • It's a very strange brand
I guess the phone's okay but you can't get any accessories. And accessory you can't get come from overseas and they're very very very cheap. Phone case I ordered for it you literally had to take a film off the back of the case and stick the back of the phone to your phone case. It was pretty much permanent.
