I initially ordered the polished steel variety, but it was delayed due to Sandy. The seller, though, suggested the brushed/matte look, and I didn't know they offered this design. Since the brushed design coincidentally goes perfectly with our bathroom's look, I agreed to get it instead of the polished. The towel rack is pretty sturdy, and came in a compact package -- some assembly required. Pretty easy to assemble, though -- I finished it in less than 20 minutes (I think it can be done in less, except my kitty kept on distracting me). The base is very solid, no worries about tipping the towel over, fastened to the vertical metal base with two large screws. The four smaller screws are for the horizontal bars, and they fit sturdily. Overall, it's a very well-made product. The only reason I give it less one star is because the rack is actually somewhat shorter and narrower than I expected. If you fold a plush bath towel (the larger fluffy ones) in half lengthwise, you cannot hang it right on the side prongs of the rack (leaving the vertical bar visible) -- it's too narrow. I ended up having to place the towel over the entire horizontal bar, leaving just enough room for a hand towel. It's really a small towel rack to be used for 2 people. I think this towel rack is made just for one person. I ended up with our bath towels hung one on each of the upper and lower bars, with the hand towels squeezed in beside it, so now the gorgeous rack is now all covered up. If they had made it say four inches wider and taller it would have been perfect for 2 people.

Generally like this, it looks good and does the job. Wish it were a bit taller which would make it a bit more unstable but would make it better especially if the base was a little larger which would stabilize it.

I didn't want to spend the money for this rack, but the quality, material and design make it worthwhile. Chrome rack finishes break down after a period of time; hopefully, that won't be the situation with this stainless steel rack. If you want this rack strictly for the appearance that it will contribute to your bathroom, use it to display towels only. Once you use the towel and hang it on the rack to dry - if you spread the towel out - you will more than likely not be able to see much of the rack. Also, if you use large bath towels, the front towel will likely touch the floor if not carefully placed on the rack. In my opinion, if this rack was an inch or two higher, it would work better when large towels are used.

I had a really hard time finding a standing towel rack in any brick & mortar store, and then I found this one on Amazon. This towel rack is well designed. It's sleek and modern looking, doesn't take up a lot of space, is heavy enough to be stable but not so heavy that you can't easily pick it up and move it, and as shown, will fit 4 bath towels folded over or 2 unfolded. It loses one star for cost...I wasn't planning to spend so much $ on a towel rack, but this was definitely the best option considering I didn't need shelves, etc., just a sturdy, compact towel rack.

I had been looking for a free standing towel rack for a contemporary bathroom. I had not been able to find a the leaning ladder rack I had been looking for. This is a nice sleek looking rack. I thought it was going to be more a a satin finish but it is polished. I like it anyway so kept it. It is sturdy and has never tipped. It could stand to be a foot taller which is why I gave it 4 stars. A full size bath towel hanging on the lower rack comes near the floor.

Beautiful, sleek and sturdy piece. The master bathroom does not have any place for towel bars (go figure on how they designed this old house). There were a couple of hooks. Hate hook marks and the fact that towels don't dry well that way. I searched for an affordable, heavy, sturdy, non- rusting metal, attractive freestanding towel rack. This one met all my needs. The rack holds 2 large (not bath sheets) heavy turkish bath towel perfectly. There is room between the towels for circulation and the width of the towels are wider by 2" on both sides but does not allow them to flop over. The base is heavy and sturdy on the porcelain tile floor. I added heavy self-stick felt squares to cushion between the floor and base. Great purchase!

Seems decent, but the rubber feet fell off as I took it out of the box. Also, screws not well wrapped, some were bouncing around, fortunately all were there. I've got to get new feet, one is missing and it wobbles. Update: removed the existing feet and cleaned the mount points with acetone. Hit it with a light dab of polyurethane to create a clean sealed surface. Put on new flat adhesive feet from my box store and it's now pretty perfect. Unfortunate to have to do that but now it's a fine addition to the bathroom.

Just got this rack today and am thrilled. It is the perfect size for two bath towels and two hand towels, but only takes up a small footprint. The design is sleek and modern. It is very sturdy and high quality. It was a bit more pricey than other similar items I considered, but it is worth every penny. One note: based on the photos, I expected the base to be glossy black. It is actually a matte charcoal gray. For my house, that works better, but it was a (pleasant for me) surprise.
