  • Powerful, Easy to use, Dependable, and a great Value. Great for an adult or child for a first electric skateboard.
I purchased this Blizart Huracane 38" electric skateboard (single 350W motor) from Amazon a week ago. I have put approximately 30 miles on it so far and to date have had no issues. I am extremely pleased with the performance of the board and presentation from the remote control to the wheels and the board itself. You might think that because this board has only a single hub motor that it would end up experiencing riding or speed consistency issues, either on rough roads or inclines, but I am here to tell you that is not a problem. The single motor Huracane performs excellent on a multitude of surfaces such as flat, inclines, rough suburban roads, tree debris, declines, ..you name it this board seems to handle it and handle it well. I have only given it one long distance test and it outperformed the 10 miles on a full charge by going 10.41 miles. I am a 155lbs rider and the max speed listed also seems to be on the nose with 17mph in high/fast mode. I get a max of 7mph in low/slow mode, but my sons get 8mph and 9mph in low/slow mode so weight is definitely a factor at least in low/slow mode. I didn't know this when buying the board, but Blitzart carries replacement "tires" for the motor on their site (and I believe they also have a video on the site or Youtube on how to replace the tire as well as replacing the battery and ESC). The Blitzart support seems to be very responsive and I've watched Youtube videos that state their customer support on product issues is very easy reliable to work with. All things considered, if you are looking at starting out purchasing your first board for a child or even an adult I believe that you will be happy with this purchase. It's a steal at this price and reliable to boot. ... show more

  • This board is a beast
First off, I haven't ridden a board in 25 years. I thought I would play it safe and get a long board. I wanted electric to get around. I had read reviews on the single hub on hill climbing and decided to take the plunge. This thing climbs hills like crazy. My first piece of advice is to tighten the hubs when you get it. They are way to loose. I couldn't ride it at all until I did that. People recommend getting a skateboard tool but all you need is a cheap rachet set. I set mine to where they are a little tight but do have play in them. If you haven't ridden in a long time (or ever) I would recommend the low setting and try to coast as much as possible to begin with. I started off in empty parking lots. The nice thing is it has really good brakes. You do have to be sensitive with both those and the throttle. I can't stress that enough. I have good balance but have almost thrown my self on slow mode and breaking. The trick is to practice easing on it and it still is a little jerky. On slow mode this thing really goes. It's going to take a while for me to feel comfortable at that speed and in traffic. Bumps are actually a little better if you have some speed going over them. Overall this board is worth the buy for someone starting out. I have no plans on upgrading. On the board itself, it is completely solid. I am so happy with this purchase. I'm going to leave early for work (I work at the UT Texas Austin campus) and take it slow to work after getting off the bus. If you are getting a starter board I would recommend this one and you really should spend the extra for the dual hub if you plan on keeping it for awhile. I don't see a reason to upgrade but time will tell. ... show more

  • Best Toy Ever!
I have never owned an electric skateboard before, and I have to say that it's totally sweet. As far as the performance of the board, I can't really think of anything negative to say about it. I am about 190lbs and this board powers me around as fast as I would want to go. It can take me up really steep hills if needed, but I try to avoid that to be nice to the board. It takes getting use to and has the slow setting that would be a good idea when first trying it out. I just leave it on the high speed setting now. I have learned how to have the board travel at slow speeds, but still have the ability to rocket away when needed. The only thing that could use improvement is the charger. As far as I can tell it doesn't turn off when the board is fully charged. It warns you not to overcharge it in the manual, so you have to be near the board when it is done charging in order not to overcharge it. The remote has red lights that turn on when charging, and shut off when it is fully charged. I suspect that you also have to disconnect it when it's done charging to avoid over charging it, but I am not sure. The instructions say to turn the remote off when charging it, but unless I have the remote on when I plug in to charge and then turn it off the red lights do not turn on. I don't know if this is normal, and goes against the instructions, or if it's just something unusual with my remote. All in all, this board rocks! Thanks Blitzart for making something that is so much fun. :) ... show more
