  • Great fir beginners or if you haven't bladed for quite a few years
Size: 7 Color: Black/Pink
I really like these. Easy to get on and off. Performed well. Last time I rollerbladed was about 25 years ago so I wanted a pair that were pretty comfortable, good performance with speed but not too crazy. The inside of my ankles did start to rub and were a bit sore afterwards but i think they will break in along with the boots the more i wear them. And heck it's been quite a while since I subjected my feet this type of activity. Overall good blades if you are looking for recreational skating on a good paved surface. ... show more

  • Good for beginners
Size: 7 Color: Black/Pink
The media could not be loaded. *Update* I originally gave these skates 4 stars, but after 3 months, I am downgrading my review to 2 stars because the ratchet buckles at the cuff are poorly constructed and broke on me. Without this buckle, the ankle support is almost non existent since they don’t lace up past the 45 degree Velcro strap. The ratchet mechanism itself was also not great to begin with, because if you tried to tighten it pretty tight, the buckle would pop open. Upon inspection, the only thing that holds these together is a tiny little tab of plastic that will inevitably break. I salvaged the skates by drilling out the rivets that hold the ratchet device on and replacing it with a similar but much higher quality part from an old pair of snowboard bindings that I had lying around. The DIY fix made the skates so much more supportive, that I would recommend buying skates that have a better ratchet strap to begin with. I really didn’t know what I was missing before with the crappy plastic one. The Velcro strap is also starting to come apart, so I used a grommet kit to add 3 sets of eyelets to be able to lace the skates at the ankle, which made a ton of difference to the ankle support as well. If you are looking for skates that will last for more than about 15 sessions, I wouldn’t get these. I still gave them two stars, because they are real skates that you can use to see if you like the sport or not, but for only 20-40$ more, you can get Zetrablades, and if you don’t like them you can at least pass them on to someone else when you upgrade or decide that skating isn’t for you. The amount of modification that I had to do to these skates to make them reasonably comfortable and supportive is beyond what I think most people would be willing to do, and depended on the fact that I already have a bunch of spare parts, custom insoles, and tools available. Also, for those who didn’t get a shorter axle with their skates, Rollerblade did send me a replacement axle to remove the brake for free when I emailed them through their website. *original review* I bought these skates used, but when I got them they looked brand new. I just decided to get back into rollerblading after doing it casually when I was a kid. I’m a size seven, and they fit true to size (I measured my foot at 23.5 cm), but are not the most comfortable. I have wide feet, so the widest part of my feet feels the pressure of the boot, but I expect they will feel a little better as they break in. I have custom insoles in my ski boots that I put in the skates that made a huge difference, so I recommend putting something in there for arch support. I had to figure out how to lace them so I wouldn’t be squishing the front part of my foot, but I wish the laces went up a little higher. The material quality is ok, it’s obviously on the low end, but I don’t think you need anything better if you just want to see if you like skating or not. I have been taking these out for 1-2 hours every day since I got them, so I probably have about 6 hours on them total and they are holding up well so far. One of the pull tabs on the back that helps you put on the boot ripped off day 2, but that is pretty common so I’m not counting it against them. The wheels are pretty soft, I think it makes them hard to do slides with, but they feel good on the bumpy roads around here. If the boots last long enough to buy new wheels, I will probably switch to significantly harder ones. Mine did not come with a short axle for removing the break, or Allen keys for removing the wheels, but I got them discounted, so it’s okay with me. Speaking of the break, it works pretty well, but is really squeaky. I am trying to learn other stops, so it’s good incentive to only use it in emergencies. You can definitely get going pretty fast on these, and they are good for learning the basics, much better than the kids skates I had in the 90s. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for, and these are quality roller blades
Size: 10 Color: Black/Pink
My daughter loves how easy they are to adjust to her foot size; the buckles around the foot lock in nicely and hold tight in place. The wheels are made of nice quality rubber and ride smooth. The padding around the foot and ankle have enough cushion, my kid hasn’t complained at all about these being uncomfortable. As a parent, I would definitely recommend these roller blades for casual use. ... show more

  • Small opening uncomfortable for larger calf. Bearings not for beginners.
Size: US Size 9 Color: Black/Pink
First, these will not fit you if you have large calves! (If you have trouble with the non-upgraded rental ski boots?) The size 9 fits my 8-1/2 shoe size feet well. Second, I initially bought and returned the Zetrablade, and went with this one for one reason....the bearings. This pair has ABEC7 bearings and the Zetrablade has ABEC5. I am not a beginner, and I blade on mostly flat terrain, so I wanted a faster bearing to keep up with my kids! I have tried several other blades with ABEC 5 bearings and while they provide a very great workout, it is prohibitive on distance and speed. Slower wheels can really make you hate rollerblading especially if you’re used to faster wheels before...tough to get the glide. However, the faster wheels require you to be experienced at evasive maneuvers, stopping or slowing yourself down especially down hills. It can be scary if you are a beginner! The Zetrablade had a sturdier ratcheting strap around the ankle than these blades, and that is the #1 place these babies break. (look at the rollerblades in goodwill...I buy them for parts). I wish those straps were replaceable, since they are so breakable. The Zetrablade also had more room for your calf to fit. ... show more

  • Great purchase!
Size: 7 Color: Black/Pink
I used to be an avid roller bladder in my youth. I’ve always owned rollerblade brand. These were a great purchase for the price. They are not nearly as comfortable as my old pair from the 90s but they are great for casually wearing with the kids at the rink. HIGHLY recommend buying the used pair- I saved $60 and the pair I received had never been worn. ... show more
