BLACKVIEW Customer Service is AMAZING!!! My phone was still under WARRANTY, so I emailed Blackview CS explaining that I needed a repair because the charger port on my Blackview BV7100 Rugged Smartphone (13000mAh, 1 TB) was loose/damaged. Unfortunately, I found out they no longer make this particular phone, and this particular Blackview Company is no longer in business. However, I explained the type of work I do and the reason I needed a phone that was rugged with a long battery life and standby time in comparison to my Backview BV7100. Customer Service was amazing! They didn't push back or think twice, but offered to replace my Blackview BV7100 with the Rock 2 Pro 5G Rugged Phone Android 16, 15000mAh with 2TB, and it's fast and comes with so many other features. I received the new phone quickly, within 72 hours. This transaction was so simple, quick, and easy that it left me amazed, satisfied, and a fulfilled, happy customer! First, the battery life is amazing. Going from a phone that randomly died to this was a game-changer. The phone feels solid, and came with a screen protector pre-installed. I actually never removed my screen protector cover because I like the papery feel of it, but I imagine doing so will improve the already great screen resolution a bit, at least from a perception standpoint. Here's why I'm returning it. The phone is massive: not only does it have a large screen, but it's thicker than my other phone and my battery pack combined. Not a game changer, but it gets notably heavy when holding it for long periods of time. The camera isn't great. It works, certainly, but any action shots turn out blurry, even when using "motion" mode. It runs a modified version of Android, and that version fights you every step of the way. I'm a power user. I know how my phone and my apps are supposed to work. Having to dig through settings to try to figure out what keeps turning off my VPN and why my emails aren't giving notifications is not particularly fun. The final straw is the fingerprint scanner. It worked about as well as any fingerprint scanner: spotty, but 9 times of 10 I could get it to work, even if on a second or third try. Now the fingerprint scanner is unresponsive. It's not that it's not reading my fingerprint - that would be one thing - but it's doing nothing when I try to unlock my phone or access an app via biometrics. I can't even remove or add a fingerprint, so it's possible this is software-related, but at this point I'm done. This is probably a wonderful phone for someone who needs a heavy-duty phone that 'just works,' with little customization. Given my experience with the fingerprint scanner, it's probably great for someone who works with dirt or grease and wouldn't use a fingerprint scanner anyways, but needs a solid, long-lasting device. I need something a bit more customizable and with a couple more basic features. I don't care about AI cameras or searching. I just want to be able to see my notifications, unlock my phone, and play a game or two from time to time.
