EDIT: Year two of using these and I’m still in love with them. I have 3 different ones now. They’ve held up so well to many ski trips and they keep my sensitive ears warm and protected. I just wash them on cold and hang dry them to ensure they stay in good shape. First time using a blackstrap balaclava and I absolutely love it. The material feels so high quality and nice. It fits really nicely on my head (I wear a size large ski helmet.) I love how easily you can pull the mouth piece up and down, it’s great for Covid too as the mouth part has a double layer. The mouth part has a meshy type layer on the inside which really helps keep it from sticking to your face when it gets all moist from your breath. It kept the cold wind off my face really nicely. Great for day and evening skiing. If I was gonna go night skiing on a really cold night I might get the thicker version of this for extra warmth. This regular thickness one still kept me warm too tho. I’m definitely going to eventually buy a couple of these in different colors. I bought this for skiing and it did not disappoint. As any face masks, by the end of the day it is moist but it works great, it’s light weight yet very warm and keeps wind burn away. I love the fact that you can pull it down below your nose and put it back up without having to adjust your helmet. Maybe a little pricey compared to other masks on the market, but it is definitely a great mask! ... show more

I recently wore this Balaclava while skiing in driving snow and wind on a cold day in Colorado. My face was warm and dry! This fit nicely under my helmet and provided coverage on hard to cover areas like the gap between my helmet and goggles on my forehead and the sides of my face below my goggles and above where a traditional gator would sit. Most of the reviews are related to skiing or coldness weather activities. I bought this to take for lobster mini season in Key West this year (July 2018). Aside from everyone on the boat constantly referring to me as a ninja this product is high quality. In between dives I just popped it on and didn’t have to lather up with sun block constantly. 5 days on the water non stop in and out of the water constantly I needed real sun protection. This hood fits really well, blocks the sun, breathes very well (never felt too hot or smothered), works well with sunglasses for full face, eye and neck protection. Was on the fence about this balcaVA for the one and only reason of how expensive it is. It's def. way overpriced due to the "BS" emblem being a stiched to it. Let's face it (no pun intended) the lift tickets are all ready expensive enough. All in all besides the price gouging this mask works good. It's one size fits all and it's tight. I find myself pulling the mouth section down after ripping turns and getting on the lift just to get unrestricted air into my lungs. It gets damp (as expected) around the mouth / nose area due to condensation. It looks cool though and keeps my ugly face covered & warm so 4 stars. ... show more

For is great. Is comfortable to wear. The mask does get a bit wet after breathing through it but as expected for any balaclava without ventilation. It keeps me warm all day in negative Fahrenheit weather.

Bought this for my first time skiing, I love the various colors but settled on black. It’s warm and keeps the wind off your face. Didn’t have a problem with it getting wet from my breath but I will say it makes me look like buzz lightyear, kind of unavoidable with a balaclava but it’s funny
