I bought this product because I had tried several different “blackout” curtains in my daughter’s nursery that still didn’t leave the room actually dark enough for her to take good naps. Even the “100% blackout” curtains let in a ton of light. Before I had kids I worked night shift as a nurse and I remember literally taping black poster board over my windows to make the room get dark enough for me to sleep well, and it worked really good but I didn’t want to do that in her nursery because I like being able to have the daylight in between her naps while she plays on her mat and does tummy time. So, this was my solution—it basically functions the same as the posterboard, except you can put it up and take it down at your leisure and it’s super easy. The kit comes with adhesive magnets that stick very well to the window frame as well as magnets for the “curtain” itself that also have a good, strong adhesive. The material is thin but that doesn’t affect its ability to darken the room. One side of the material is black and the other side almost looks like aluminum foil which also helps keep heat out (think of it like those panels you see people put in their cars during the summer to deflect heat) which was another issue we were having in her nursery as it was getting too hot during the day from sunlight exposure. My only real “con” is that the initial setup is definitely a two person job especially if your windows are large and you are short like I am. Once you get the magnet placement the way you want it, though, it’s very easy to take them down and put them back up on your own. The images in my review show the window before the panel was put up, with just the panel, and then with the panel and blackout curtains combined (best result). ... show more

I purchased this as a temporary solution to a window that gets bright afternoon direct sunlight. My baby grand daughter was visiting for a week and needed to make sure the room was dark for naps and nights. This product was easy for temporary install and now tucked away for next visit! My window size is a bit smaller than the size I ordered. You can cut to size but I opted to just have it overlap the window. Room was very dark! Worked great! This would be great to travel with, obviously depending on the size needed. Durable and folded nicely after use. Highly recommend ... show more

Impressive Blackout Solution – Almost Perfect I’ve been using the BKSAI Cuttable Blackout Window Covers for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m really pleased with how well they perform. I was searching for a flexible, non-permanent blackout solution for my bedroom and office, and this product mostly delivers on what it promises. One of the standout features is that the material is cuttable, which made it easy to customize the covers to fit my unique window sizes. I appreciated how straightforward the process was—just measure, cut, and stick. The blackout material is thick and effective. Awful to work with. Cutting it is a nightmare. and it doesn’t effectively block the light. Would return if I hadn’t cut it. I had to throw it out. Update: the company offered a full refund. added 2 more stars

    • Blocks Out All Summer Sunlight When I Hit The Sack at 8PM EDT

It blocks bright sunlight out completely. The magnets are strong, but to make SURE they did the job of holding the blackout sheet up, I used 8 magnets along the top, and the remainder of the magnets for the sides and bottom. I also re-added a couple of inches (which I'd cut off) with duct tape to one side and to the bottom before I spaced the magnets and secured them to the window frame, and attached the lighter weight magnets to the screen. The extra material at the sides and bottom ensure that no light comes in around the edges. So, err on the side of leaving "too much" rather than cutting off too much. Product is well worth the money. (But I still don't know what those six rectangular things are for. Apparently, they're not necessary...because the blackout screen works just fine without them.) ... show more
