I've been buying these blanks for a while now, in walnut, cherry, padauk, mahogany and others. They are "pricey" but I don't have a thickness planer or a jointer, for me the fact that they are really well milled is the value I pay for. Also they are the right size for the stuff Im making. No knots, very nice grain, they are perfectly square on all sides. Usually one of the 4 sides has a bit of a rough finish, but it's quickly fixed with a couple of passes with a hand plane. It's clear that these were chosen well; knot free, but with good grain character and rich walnut color. Dead on dimensions. Lovely pieces of walnut; pleasantly surprised to find such quality lumber on amazon for a reasonable price.
