This is a nice collar. Feels sturdy and able to handle the 8 month old German Shepard. The handle works well to reinforce action needed and sturdy enough to walk with.

Original post gave 3 stars b/c the collar fell off the 1st day wearing it & w/ the big buckle it has i was not happy about that. Since then it was found in the yard and we've not had any issues since then! Its his everyday collar and has held up very well. Definitely comes in handy during the occasional dog park fight. I'd give 4.5 if that was an option but didn't give 5 since the buckle is so heavy the handle often falls around under his neck and sometimes i need to grab the handle quickly and can't. ... show more

Bought this collar because my puppy had chewed the buckle off. It seemed super sturdy and I was very happy with it. Unfortunately, after a few short months, the the buckle stopped holding and would unclasp with even the slightest resistance. I messaged the company. They were extremely unhelpful, stating that I had probably used the wrong size. Besides the fact that I definitely know what size collar my dog needed, I don't see how that would affect the function of the clasp. They did not offer to replace the collar or parts. This is our go to collar for all our dogs. It has lasted through so much. We have been able to pass down a collar from our puppy that got to big for hers to a friend's puppy. We have 2 dogs that play hard and rough and pull the collars and roll in dirt and mud, climb through brush and they are in great shape. Size down. I have a great dane and most of the time she wears a xL but the xl with this was way too big so I got a large and it fits good.
