  • Does a great job.
So much easier to tell if the white bulb is burned out or working correctly at night.

  • It is worth the money, but the clip on attractor is kind of exspensive
It works very good and is worth the money if u like being outside like we do, and no bugs bother u at all

  • It is certainly effective in the daytime, by killing aggressive yellow jackets and paper wasps!
The media could not be loaded. We recently had a colony of yellow jackets take up residence in our front porch. The nest is inaccessible and very difficult to spray since I can only get to the entrance. Theses little vagrants are aggressive and have stung my wife multiple times as she has went out the front door. I've tried using sprays and yellow jacket specific traps, but they only seem to capture a few in a day which is not helpful. While searching for ways to eliminate them, someone suggested using a bug zapper because they are attracted to the blue light. I found this Black Flag model on amazon for half the price locally and decided to try it out. I've had it up for less than a day and it's killed hundreds of those little evil demons. Take a look at my video. You can hear them trying to gang up on it as their buddies fry! As a bonus it has also fried a few passing paper wasps. So far I'm very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Plug In/Unplug
Be a better reader than I was.... I purchased this bug light because it was cheaper than what I thought was the same one at our local hardware store. Essentially it’s the same light with one expection... automatic on/off light sensor. This version is on when you plug it in and off when you unplug it. I believe it’s called the deluxe that has a dusk to dawn light sensor where you can leave it plugged in and it will automatically come on when it gets dark and go back off when the sun comes up. Not too big of a deal to plug it in so we kept this version. It works great and takes out a large number of bugs every night. Cleaning it is simple if you keep compressed air around. This one has a white light as opposed to the black light that’s been in our two previous ones. You can buy replacement bulbs in either color if you have a preference. After using this one for a few months, I don’t see any significant difference in the effectiveness of either bulb color. All in all it’s a good bug light, but just read the description so you know what to expect. ... show more

  • The bug zapper light part was bad
The first bug zapper I bought the light blinked when plugged in and that was it. The replacement that was sent out, again The light did not work at all. I finally called black flag, and they directed me to another company that replaced the unit so I had one that actually worked.

  • Good Zapper, Pain to Clean Out
We purchased this item due to the tremendous amount of bugs that we get near our back door, which is our primary entrance in & out of our home. It dramatically decreased the number of flying buzzards we'd get in that area, however, it filled up so much it was virtually useless after 2 days of use! Either that's testament that it's an excellent Zapper, or I need to move! Either way, we took it down to clean it out & that is somewhat easier said than done. You have to open this trap door at the bottom of the device that is barely large enough to fit your hand inside of - so we found the next best way was to gently knock the thing against the deck to shake loose all the debris inside - being careful not to break or dislodge the bulb. Then whatever didn't come loose, we had to take our vacuum & stick the long wand handle inside to suck out whatever was left. Afterwards rehang it & 2-3 days later repeat. After an entire summer of this (one summer's use), we're debating to rehang it this year. It works really well, just maybe too well! ... show more

  • Great product..........good price!
After going through many other types of bug zappers, I decided to try the Black Flag model this year..........Wow, I've been very surprised and happy with it. The bulb lasted nearly all summer, and then I ordered a replacement on Amazon and was astonished at how easy it was to install compared to past experiences with Flowtron and other models. The cost of both the original unit and also the replacement bulbs is very reasonable, and the unit is very effective. While some insects do accumulate on the inner charged screen after a period of time, they are easily removed by simply gently shaking the unit until they drop out the bottom of the casing. I will be purchasing a second unit to enlarge the area of insect attraction next spring. ... show more

  • Good from the start
I was skeptical but my brother said he had good results so worth a shot. I checked it after the first night and was coated with bugs. We will see how it works long term.
