I originally copped these for my white Xmas theme in my bedroom, I own a few blackout curtains & this is my 1st with the white background....I find that these don't black-out to the degree that the darker backgrounds do. The curtains R soft, great quality & beautiful, I did remove a star for the obvious. For reference, there R no blinds on my windows & this is how I hang my other blackouts. Summary: I believe the darker linings do a better job of darkening the room in the day time then the white background.
