So first off I feel like a review without a pic seems so fake and I felt like these Birks deserved to have a review written. I did a fake spot review on these and they did not rate very well at all. I took a chance and ordered them because I had been looking for the taupe color in my size for a long time. These are my third pair of Birks and if they had been my first pair I probably wouldn’t even own the other two. I always thought my Birkenstocks were so comfortable but they seem so stiff and hard now that I’ve worn these. I’m very much a shoe addict and these are amazing. I never want to take them off! I was worried that some pics showed them in a darker color but these are lighter just like I wanted. Also some of the reviews said they didn’t think they were authentic Birkenstocks but I have no reason to believe they’re not and honestly I hate to say it but if they are knock offs then I’d prefer them to actual Birks now. If you’re on the fence I say take a chance on these shoes! ... show more

    • Great Shoes. She Doesn't Appreciate Anything.
The shoes were well-built, strudy, attractive. They seem to have comfortably, soft footbeds in them. The quality of the shoes are great. That is why I am giving them 5 stars. She doesn't appreciate anything at all, though. I wish people were designed as well as shoes can be.

    • The Best Shoes In The World
Basically all I've been wearing for about the last 10 years are Birkenstocks! I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis (heel pain) for about a year, and when I switched over to wearing Birkenstocks it went away in a couple of weeks and has never returned! The soft footbeds are the best, I don't know why they even make the other ones, these you can wear immediately with almost zero break-in time! I believe Birkenstocks are the best shoes ever made!!! ... show more

Extremely disappointed in this purchase. Here's why: There is thick plastic stitching protruding from the place where the strap meets the sole. These are like actual medical stitches—hard stiff and stitched individually. With stiff ends that stick out just along the seam. Imagine every time you wear the sandals that you searched out on Amazon that about 20 vicious and unrelenting needles poke into the soft part of your arch. You tell me. Does that sound like Birkenstock's definition of comfort? Do you enjoy blood coming out of your arches? Do you want to be tortured with every single step? Is it possible those reviews I read that said these aren't really Birks and that people were being fooled were right after all? Okay, I thought as I wiped the blood off and wrapped my foot in gauze. I can fix these. So I tried to cover these seams with bandaids and moleskins. No dice--they poke through anyway. I have tried sanding them down with a nail file. Nope. Doesn't work. I'm starting to look for flexible caulk. Seriously. WTF right? Is that what it takes to get a decent pair of sandals? I couldn't find these in my local store, so I bought them here. Dumb. Dumd. Dumb. Now I seriously doubt these are real Birks. I look at them and I am sick. I have been wearing Birkenstocks for decades and I have never had an issue like this. Just awful. Avoid.
