This obviously would work great as it's typically used on a floor to relieve foot stress while standing. It's thick, easily cleanable, and traps dirt...So it was perfect for my dogs new dog house to keep them from having to lay on bare wood, but also provide them a little relief on their elbows and knees while laying..and I have to say it's perfect. It also allows the dirt and mud to make its way off of their skin and drain down through the cracks while keeping them nice and comfy under the safety of their roof. This Birdrock rubber mat provides a cushioned surface that protects against slips and falls while also affording a soft work space for folks who are on their feet for long periods of time. At 1/2" thick, this perforated rubber mat elevates the user above a concrete or tiled floor. Obviously, the mat can be used on other surfaces, but its best deployed on a hard surface. The perforations allow for spills and debris to pass through (provided the debris is small enough) while the rubber material remains grippy and soft. The perforations also allow flexibility to the rubber, so your feet and back will appreciate the soft surface if standing atop for long periods. There are 2 distinct sides, although they do kind of look alike. The "up" side has angled edges that should close the gap between the edge and the elevated surface. The mat is shipped rolled up, so it will take a little while for the rubber to relax and lay perfectly flat. The weight of the mat and the grippy rubber should keep it in place and prevent sliding. Obviously, the rubber has a smell to it, so when first opened, it will have a scent, but it dissipates quickly and is not too overpowering. The mat is 3' X 5', so there is ample room to provide protection and relief from long days on your feet at a work station. We are going to use this in front of the garage work bench. The thick rubber is capable of resisting damage from dropped tools or materials. The mat also cushions the concrete, so dropped delicate items may be salvaged from breakage. Another benefit of the mat is the decoupling from the cold surface. If used in an unheated shop, your feet will stay warmer by not being in direct contact with the cold floor. Although weighty, the mat is easy to move for cleaning under and around. The rubber material is an easy cleaned surface with a spray from the hose or pressure washer.

I originally ordered this mat with the intention of having it in my “mudroom“. That’s an area of my house, just off of the garage that connects to my kitchen. However, the smell was so strong from the mat that after two days I had to remove it from that room. I placed it in the garage to try to disseminate the smell over period of time. It’s been two months now and the mat is still in the garage. It will probably stay there. In spite of the smell, it is an excellent quality mat. It is extremely thick durable. It is excellent at getting any type of grass or soil off of our shoes before we enter the house.

This floor mat is HEAVY-DUTY, seriously. I initially thought I could plop this down in front of the sink and use it in my kitchen to relieve some pressure on my back while washing dishes. But nah, the substantial size of this mat lends itself more effectively to larger spaces – like high-traffic entryways or commercial kitchens; even garages or workshops. I appreciate the mat’s anti-fatigue properties as well as its non-slip surface, which adds a layer of safety even in busy areas. Plus, the durability is out of this world, so this should last for a good long while. Probably no one else is using this mat the way I am, but sometimes the answer to your problem is something that was designed for other problems. We just completed building our new pool & spa (much to the delight of the grandkids). We are loving the spa, but I found that I hated getting out of the spa and putting my warm, wet feet on the cold pavers and picking up the Oklahoma dirt that invariably finds its way everywhere, not to mention the risk of slipping and wiping out. This mat was exactly what I wanted/needed. I placed it on the pavers on the patio side of the spa where people typically get in and out. The fit is perfect and it looks just like it belongs there. It’s very sturdy- it wasn’t made for bare feet, but doesn’t hurt- it just doesn’t feel like you’d want to linger on it for a long conversation. It has great traction and the splashes and the water that drip off of you fall into the holes in the mat and stay out of your way when you get in or out. I’m beyond happy.

This is a great rubber mat for work areas. I have mine down in my garage shop at my main workbench. It’s thick enough to provide great cushion. I appreciate the open webbing with this that allows for drainage if needed. Overall, it’s holding up well under medium use over several months.

I requested this rubber anti-fatigue floor mat for review. I love this 36" x 60" black rubber floor mat. I was looking for a tough anti-fatigue mat for my kitchen in front of the sink, and I finally found it! I love the big size and the heavy-duty weight of this mat. This mat sits nice and flat on the floor. I won't need to worry about the edges curling up on this mat. This mat is just what my feet needed. The mat is made of rubber and does have a rubber odor. The smell should diminish over time. So at the moment, it smells like I have a new tire in my kitchen. The smell does not bother me, but I still wanted to mention this. I'm very happy with this black rubber anti-fatigue mat.

I got this for my wife to use at work at a print shop. She has to move and turn around a lot and this mat does not move. The padding is doing its job and relieving the stress on her back and knees while being on her feet all day. She has already requested that I get her two more of these to put in front of other machines that she also has to work on. Her official comment on this mat is, "it's all that". She loves it and that's all I've got to say about that.
