  • Impressed

It's no MISTI but it's accurate and easy to use. This little platform allows you to stamp the same image repeatedly. I just wish it was bigger, otherwise, I'm very happy with it and use it often!

  • Good 2nd choice
Size: Stamp Tool
I wanted the other name brand (one of this that starts with letter "M") but didn't want to kick out that much money for it. Purchased this one after reading reviews and while it gets the job done and works fine I regret getting it. It comes apart into two pieces and then attaches back together by magnets. It always makes me nervous my stamps won't line back up when trying to give it several coats of ink. I have used other types that didn't come apart - have a hinge feature - and they seem more stable and are easier to use. It could totally be personal preference! This works, seems good quality and is a good price. I just don't like that it comes apart and I have to re-connect every time I go to stamp. ... show more

  • I Can't Think Of A Better Alternative
Size: Stamp Tool
Like others who've posted reviews, I'm relatively new to stamping, went a little crazy buying clear stamps because they're pretty inexpensive here on Amazon, and then decided that acrylic blocks weren't going to do the trick. I needed a positioner. So I looked around, mouth literally wide open in unhappy amazement at the cost of these items. I also noticed that most of them just consist of two hinged plates, and I felt that those plastic hinges seemed like a real weak point. I've never used any of those products, but my experience with other plastic things suggests that they're going to break at some point. Anyway, amongst all those expensive items was the Bira (which has "Sunlit" written on it, and "Bira" nowhere, but I'll continue to refer to it as a Bira), which was not expensive at all. The other brands looked like they started around $60, while the Bira is just under $25; a *considerable* difference. So, I figured I'd get something cheap and flimsy, but it'd give me a chance to try positioners out to see if I wanted to spend the big bucks on one of the major brands. Turns out the Bira is NOT cheap OR flimsy. It feels solid, and I am not afraid that I'm going to snap it to pieces just by looking at it. The bottom plate is heavy and obviously contains a steel plate for the magnets, which are surprisingly strong! Your cardstock is NOT going to slip under these magnets. The top plate, which I imagine is acrylic, feels nice and sturdy. It's not a thin sheet, and doesn't feel like it's going to break the moment I press on it. Instead of a hinge, the disconnected top plate magnetically snaps onto posts set into the bottom plate that feel quite secure - once in place, the top plate can only move straight up and down, and not to the sides in any direction. You position your stamps on the cardstock, just "snick" the top plate in place (the magnets will grab it and position it perfectly on the posts), press down and the springs bring it back up with the stamps attached, you pull the whole top plate off, ink it, snick it back into place, push it back down, and you're set. If you need to re-ink, just pull it off, re-ink, snick it back and press again. The fact that you pull the top plate completely off is actually very convenient. If it were hinged, you would have little choice over where it's going to open. But here, you can pull the top plate off and carry it over to another table if you want - it's completely disconnected from the bottom, and so can be placed anywhere it fits. I've used this just a couple of times, now, but I have zero complaints. It was completely easy to use, worked like a charm, feels sturdy, and makes me believe that I don't need a more expensive version, EVER, as I can't imagine what a more expensive one might do that this one doesn't. And there are no hinges to break on this model. I am 100% happy with this product. Five stars. ... show more

  • Best stamp platform ever
Size: Stamp Tool
I have used 3 other brands of stamp platforms that ended up either breaking at the hinges from over use or just never could get a good impression. This is the easiest platform to use and I especially love that the top comes off and just attaches by magnets at the top and bottom. It makes it so much easier to ink up your stamp since you take off the top cover and can put it wherever you want to to be able to ink it. It lines right back up on the magnets perfectly without your paper moving any as long as you have the magnets holding your paper down. pressing down to ink it and being too hard on the hinges. It is so easy to push down and as long as you just give even pressure to it, primarily from pressing in the center and then wherever your stamp is positioned on the plate, just make sure you give even pressure there. I was stamping a lot of border stamps on tissue paper today and even tissue paper stayed down perfectly with the magnets for repeat stamping. It was just as great on the very edges of the platform as it is if it is centered. It is easy on my arms also as I just had shoulder replacement surgery and am just getting back to crafting and it's so much easier on my arms also. Absolute great results. I want to buy another to have on hand in case something should ever happen to this one. I doubt it will break but you just never know what may happen and I want to make sure I will be able to replace it. Absolutely a great price, and an even better over all product with ease of use. It doesn't have a grid mat on the paper side of the platform like some do but you could always put your own grid paper down if you find it necessary. Also the bottom surface seems to stain from the archival inks but it's ok because it's stained, it wont come off on other papers so that doesn't bother me at all. You can use any type stamp (except for wood mount) on it and you don't have to worry about changing out your base to allow for the difference in stamp heights, ie: photopolymer versus foam mount stamps. I just can not say enough great things about it. LOVE IT!!! ... show more

  • It was an okay purchase
Size: Stamp Tool
I'd liked that it was easy to use and I like the price. However I haven't used it very much and the lines are already fading and wiping off of the stamping platform. So it is a little cheaply made but for the money it's definitely worth giving it a try I'm not completely dissatisfied with the purchase I would most likely spend a little extra and buy a a good stamping platform next time ... show more
